Posted May 27, 20187 yr comment_258287 I'll be going to Thorpe Park on the 6th June, and I want to get some on-ride footage for my Youtube channel, I Re-Create Real Life Theme Parks, and I want to Re-Create Thorpe Park, I've made a request to the Thorpe park press Office, but I'm unsure how to claim my permission from them, If you have any idea how please Help me.
May 27, 20187 yr comment_258289 You won't get permission to film on the rides. Usually they only give permission for big companies / shows, and you would have to go through significant H&S checks before filming on each ride.
May 28, 20187 yr comment_258299 Some people are very responsible, but sadly the majority, not that they're being irresponsible, just would not be safety aware, and the thought of anything hitting anyone on the ride really doesn't bear thinking about. The only seats useable for filming would be front rows and even if secured, the items would be clearly seen. TP and Merlin are in it to make money, and therefore they would sooner you buy their material. Make up some video off the rides, then enjoy the ride itself.
May 30, 20187 yr comment_258348 Unfortunately due to the safety concerns of visitors the park do not allow on-ride photography with the exception of thr likes of TV, media and in-house departments. This rule also applies to Go Pros (including head and chest mounted). I understand this may be disappointing, but again this is for the safety and well being of everyone. If something fell from one of the larger attractions and hit somebody, the results could be catastrophic. Especially when we are unfortunately living in a time of extreme H&S and parks receiving unreseanable bashing from the media. The park will be more than welcome for you to do as much off-ride as you like, as long as you don’t enter any restricted areas. Hope this helps.
