March 19, 201312 yr comment_153645 They had different furniture in BK era. They were all metal backs with bats or something on them. Best picture I can find with them: Or:
March 19, 201312 yr comment_153650 Both styles of chair were similar. And more suitable to the restaurants. Those new seats are tacky-looking. I'm going tomorrow to check Chessington's changes out so my verdict on The Burger Kitchen is less than 24 hours away!
March 19, 201312 yr comment_153652 I never even noticed they changed! Still, both previous incarnations managed to have in keeping seating and as you say, they would be pretty useless anywhere else so surely they could made an offer for them much cheaper than buying new. That photo also shows all the lovely wall detail, lost to creamy blandness.
March 19, 201312 yr comment_153669 It looks awful now, unthemed and there is no character! They should have left as it is minus the Burger King logos (and obviously anything Burger King owned.)
March 20, 201312 yr comment_153823 The restaurant was ruined years ago when Burger King took out most of the interior theme features to create more space. This is what it looked like when Count's Cauldron opened, if anybody's interested. Notice the wishing well, plants, lampposts, colour scheme (before bits were strangely painted bright red). It was billed as "the largest themed McDonald's in the world" apparently. Well, not anymore. http://0.static.wix.com/media/04ccebd973e8c85c98d85998d9099b42.wix_mp_1024 [image not allowed apparently, just click the link] While I don't like tasteless repainting, I prefer what they have done this year over the BurgerKing-ified version. But bring back Black Forest Chateau I say!
March 21, 201312 yr comment_153902 What year did McDonald's open, and was that when the Counts Cauldron theme began? If it ever did return, they'd probably theme it to the current lifestyle brand all their restaurants have.
March 21, 201312 yr comment_153925 McDonald's opened with the other fast food outlets in 1998, was also when the Counts Cauldron come in. The problem is over the years Vampire has gone from being dark and scary (early 90's it was a top coaster) to fun and purple, it's a shame the purple and colour has taken over but I guess the fresh look suits the family theme better than the darker horror style.
March 21, 201312 yr comment_153953 I know what you mean about the purple taking over, the new BK exterior sort of hits you right in the face like a Ribena berry!
