I think in thorpes eyes, it's the case of Tidal, DC, Storm Turd, Rumba are available, so who's gonna miss the great Loggers Leap?? Er, me.
  2. It's easy and cheap. Merlin all over, it's literally as simple as that. Just hope Simworx can pull off a great experience.

Well Merlin don't care what they put out. We all saw from Dragon Falls and it's promise that they completely brushed under the carpet, and it's sat their looking dire, with not much backlash at all. They could just say 'the island is changing in 2017/18' and loggers is dead. Astrodan hit the nail on the head.. The Flume will go too. Sadly Loggers is a great log flume, that just hasn't been looked after.
  4. Just sayin.. It's a thing. Doubtful, but I guess they have to have a plan.
  5. Isn't all of Amity 'disused' and 'abandoned' ? I think Merlin have really thought about the scruffy look, it will look great next to Saw, Storm Surge, the games unit, KFC, Tidal, Stealth, Storm in a Tea Cup, Rumba and Colossus..

Well they could always re-drag up the 'proposed' B&M flyer that was to swoop over the lake (yeh right..) Loggers is such a great log flume, as already mentioned, farr better than the flume. Fingers crossed that it is a heavy fix up and clean up of theme, rather than a God awful Merlin re-theme/modernization.
  7. There's also a Merlin back up plan where they 'would' sell off the Lego Discovery Centers and Sealife attractions, if they needed too. The parks are at the bottom of that list.
  8. However if Alton are doing it, I don't understand why the southern parks aren't. I've had to deal with MANY complaints about 0 hour contracts, it's only favored by people who live at home with their parents.
  9. Alton Towers no longer do 0 hour contracts?? If that's true, why the hell aren't other parks following?
  10. It's such a fun attraction. Surely they can run it, as they've already dumped ents from it.
  11. I do find it unacceptable however, when some F&B or dancers can't point, or even care the way to Wild Asia.
  12. Surely it means the 0 hour contracts just get less, and the other 'restructures' will be used to weed out people who have fallen unpopular with new managers (like Chessington have before)?
  13. I'd like to see two train operations everyday. The Inferno mist, Swarm water effects fixed and working ALL season. NO closed all season rides (or lower prices to show they aware having rides closed all year is pretty ****e). All very reasonable.

If the talk is true of Thorpe have some rides down all season and Loggers being one of them, I seriously hope to see a big clean up of the ride.. I'm not talking BTM at Paris style, but an entire season down means they better be up-keeping (aside from the ride hardware it's obviously lacked with Tussauds/Merlin) one of the best log flumes around.. that includes the tunnel !
  15. Didn't The Mystery of HPH have a jungle section that represented Wild Asia?? Lol
  16. That's why the Merlin parks have such an enormous turn over. Good people leave, knowledge leaves with them, and the cycle continues.
  17. It's been done before at both southern parks, and managers have had to deal with staff complaints due to that very reason. It's really crappy for staff who aren't living at home, and need to survive, although Merlin will just tell you about your zero hour contract, and basically it's tough luck. They can cut your hours with no regard, or they can extend park opening expecting you to stay (without actually even asking).
  18. 'Merlin have it all figured out' huh? [shudders] This 'world first' is sounding like a real game changer. OR as Benin has already touched on, a standard Merlin mirror maze perhaps?
  19. I totally agree. Merlin have become repetitive in their marketing, and taking their past attractions into account, I can totally understand why there's a certain sense of doom surrounding this 'world first'. Whilst we're all excited about it, we know that it will be of a Merlin standard, which isn't everything they make out to be. See: Smilers 'projection mapping' and squirty water... Zufari, in its entirety.. Not to mention even those higher up were surprised how small the scorpion is at chessington, despite the plans showing it..
  20. Small World already looks brighter, they're not even complete yet! For me the biggest surprise is that Peter Pan's Flight isn't getting any of the updates the U.S. ones have. Seems a shame.
  21. Well said. Looks like tech services did all the work with some great lighting. Scruffy Dog did a good job of their maze, and that's it.
  22. I would say following last year, the team realised how difficult the other two mazes (vampire and hocus) were to build. From what I can gather studios did the install last year because more people had left, and no one else has the knowledge to do it. This year the park have had to focus on Trick or treat woods, staffing the curse.. and that's literally it. Poor show, but Chessington all over.
  23. Great review. I have to agree also, seems a bit lacklustre this year. Maybe they're saving their money for a big project in the future, or even the managers have lost hope? Haven't done Towers, but they seem to be getting rave reviews.
  24. That's the Halloween loop they're supposed to use. If the MoHPH is being used again, it's obviously because it's a nice track, or someone doesn't know what track to actually use.
  25. Aaron Tuckwell, what are you going to do about it? People moan, but run back. It won't change. In regards to 'falling out of seats' and the GP trying to get attention/something for free, Thorpe have occasionally invited said complainers back to the park, and ride (Colossus), and shown things like the seat belts being a backup, and nothing to do with the actual restraints. If only they realised that the same goes for the shoulder restraints on Slammer!
