  1. Each individual attraction 'page' has links to buying the corresponding film on Amazon now (except You're Next and Asylum, of course). Also, Saw Alive has had the Saw 3D trailer replaced by one of Saw Alive (which pretty much shows the first half of the maze), and so probably means we won't be seeing an additional scene? Also, here's some more info on Face it Alone, from the booking page:

Pretty sure it was working last Sunday (the 15th).
  3. Interesting that the Thorpe Break section calls Asylum 'Revealed: The Asylum'. Possibly a slight change to the story line could be included? Loving the updated FN section, and looking forward to this teaser 'trailer' they've got. The BWP overnight experience sounds great, shame about the cost though; a bit too expensive for me! Glad to see that the scare zone itself opens at 6pm too. Also sounds like Brave it Alone gives you a choice of mazes, which is good. So all looking good; can't wait to see what the video holds...
  4. Yep, it's about in the Megastore by Storm Surge. (Image courtesy of Xplorer Central Facebook). It's the latest edition (3rd I think?), which includes a couple more pictures (Wardley in a prototype Air train, Th13teen's drop mechanism built in Budapest and a couple of others), and has a bit extra at the end about Smiler.
  5. There are some pictures on Theme Park Guide: http://www.themeparkguide.biz/news-page/22nd-september-2013-fright-nights-are-coming Speakers for MBV is great. Last year, the queue was silent for the most part, bar about 5 minutes when I heard the soundtrack which was prominent in 2011. I do hope they take off all the Ex10 logos from the shipping containers though. The work on CITW looks good too; hopefully those garish vinyl morgue things get burnt as soon as possible; they were terrible!
  6. Okay, I've read it... It's an interesting read for sure. It's quite a short book, and lots of the pages are taken up by some amazing (colour) pictures of the ride, during construction and after it had been completely. It is well written (though there's a couple of typos; though that's not really a big deal to be honest), and it explains everything really well. I wouldn't call it a must read, but if you're interested in The Haunted House in any way, shape or form or want to reminisce over it, I'd highly recommend it!
  7. For Swarm's media night, crossing the bridge to the Dome involved being rushed along by army guards (after passing a 'secure gate'), and being shouted out that The Swarm was attacking. It was meant to be a bit frantic and hectic, and it worked well. However, there were very few people there, so it's hard to judge how well that could work on a large scale. Despite that, I think it would be great - especially in the evening when people are leaving, if some 'You're Next' characters were on the bridge 'targeting' people, chasing them to the turnstiles and such. It would certainly be more effective then as there would likely be less people on the bridge. Even though they're just roaming actors, the 'You're Next' characters has a lot of potential and can be used in so many different ways. I would have loved to have seen them incorporated into a maze, but I actually think it could end up better this way...
  8. I'll be there on the day, but I may not properly join the meet for very long (as I'm with family and it's my only visit to FN, so do want to power through the mazes as quick as possible ), but I'll make sure I see you guys at some point regardless! I'm unsure about the Tour itself, as I wouldn't have done the maze beforehand, and I want to keep it a surprise.
  9. I would go, but cannot justify the 200 mile round trip, and £35 train fare, when I'm making the exact same trip 2 weeks later.

I've noticed that this year in particular, Vortex has been extremely juddery; so much so, it makes me feel queasy. I guess age could be starting to show on it a bit; hopefully we'll see a bit more TLC given to it this closed season than it normal gets though.
  11. Well, that's more what I think. But we know they do read the forums and do respond to some points, so we can only assume they do take all valid points on here seriously. The thing with Fastrack is, as you say, it's been a problem for many guest for years. But obviously the top guys at Merlin (as it isn't just a Thorpe problem) believe the positives of it (primarily the profits) outweigh those negatives. The point I was more trying to get at was that posting on here can be more than just moaning, as Thorpe will see that there are people out there who strongly dislike how Fastrack is operated.
  12. When I complained to Guest Services last year about Fastrack at FN (30-40 people Fastrackers let into Experiment 10...), they wrote nothing down, said "It shouldn't be like that", then gave me 10 Fastrack tickets with no expiry date. Not exactly good... Thorpe read these forums, and will take any criticisms seriously.
  13. After some random trawling through Amazon, I came across this... http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1490417087/ref=pe_385721_37986871_TE_item The foreward by Wardley should be interesting, and based on the reviews, I've decided to order it. Looks like quite a recent release; anyone here heard about / read it?
  14. A shameless attempt to mimic Sidders' picture on the previous page...
  15. That character is really unrecognisable. I saw comments on the previous photo of people saying it was Slenderman... In other news, here's the sneak peak of You're Next: http://instagram.com/p/eaJwzhEgFu/ I guess tomorrow's sneak peak will be of MBV, with Friday's being of Asylum. I'd then expect some more information to be drip feed to us, like the reveal of the locations or something, from Saturday, if they're going to keep with the daily bits of FN info...
  16. It's literally nothing to worry about. Many coasters are designed so that the track can 'shake' to relieve some tension and strain on the track itself or something (I'm sure Benin or someone else with more ride engineering than me can explain a bit better than me!). Another coaster you can see it on is Saw; watch the dive loop after a car passes through it! I think I read a rumour on here somewhere that if Fury was built a few years later, they'd have built the lift hill with more supports so it didn't shake so much, but I'm not sure how reputable the person who said it was.
  17. Looks rather...straight, doesn't it? I really don't know what to expect from the BWP attraction at all, but if it's a scare zone in the sense of you can go in when you want with however many people you want, walking down a straight alley way isn't going to be scary if you can see what is happening to other groups ahead of you. In saying that, I'm not sure if it's my eyes playing tricks / wanting to see something that's not there (or just the light), but I think I see a building at the end there... Also, does anyone know whereabouts on park that actually is? I can't really think of anywhere, even along the back of the park, where there was that amount of trees both sides?
  18. Source - https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151856567908566&set=a.382599058565.162665.194340658565&type=1&theater A nice 3D layout picture. Don't think it looks too bad from this angle to be honest...
  19. They have 5 attractions plus a set of roaming actors. Even if, say, 30 actors had a night off one night (don't know how realistic that is?), they could get 10 or so actors roaming around, meaning they have 22 actors for each attraction (on average). Rotate the actors' around so they all get breaks, and you could still have a good 15-16 actors in a maze at any one point; a lot more than I think I've seen in any Thorpe maze before. When you take into account BWP probably shouldn't need that many actors, and it seems CITW may only need a few actors, that means there's even more to roam about / be in the live action mazes. I think they've got plenty of actors!
  20. I'm not sure exactly, but I think it has 5 trains, and this year can only run a maximum of 4 (now it doesn't stop on the brakes). Before, I think it could run 5 trains at any given point. As I say though, not entirely sure..
  21. Asylum has had the layout tweaked a few times. The Freezer was sorta different, and the route was reversed at one point too. I guess by dead ends, they were talking more about physical fake routes; pretty sure they never mentioned them before? Also, I think the actors are meant to be the patients, but I guess it just means we could be new patients, who then have to escape after realising what 'The Asylum' actually is. It does say it is a live action maze, so it will definitely have actors in, and I'd assume there'll be the key aspect of the experience.

Just remembered I was gonna post in here about the 2 Blair Witch films... Blair Witch Project Alright film I guess. I like the fact it doesn't show any sort of monsters or anything actually (as it's something I've disliked in films like Insidious and Paranormal Activity). However, it's no where near as scary as it's made out to be. Tense, yes, and a couple of good scenes, but not hide-behing-the-sofa scary. 5.5/10 Blair Witch 2 Dear me, I wish I didn't waste 90 minutes of my life watching this heap of rubbish. It doesn't 'fit' with the nice story BWP created, and doesn't make sense either. The characters feel very typical of a cheap and easy horror film. It mixes between handheld and 'proper' cameras, meaning you don't get a feel of if you're there, or if you're just watching a film. It doesn't make sense, and it is just rubbish. Do not watch. 2/10 (Quite probably the worst film rating I've ever given...)
  23. Dead ends in Asylum? Eurgh. I get a feeling that Asylum will probably be the maze that features 'Brave it Alone' too, if it ends up only being a single maze. Disappointed that it looks like it's just Asylum returning. Though, I guess the reveal isn't anticlimatic to the majority - heck, we only really knew about it because someone worked out how the images were linked... But yeah, Asylum returning with a couple of fake routes by the sounds of it. Big woop. As for the picture of CITW, it looks like a couple of doors in an incomplete corridor. Yay?
  24. I don't think we'll see anything like. It's not really a UK or a Merlin thing to release videos like that. However, I reckon we'll see a promotional video for the event sometime. Well, hope so at least - they're always very good! I know a few people will have seen this already, but may as well chuck it here for reference: This is the entrance to CITW in Orlando. It's a shame Thorpe don't have the space (and probably the budget) to do something of this calibre. However, this is what Thorpe should be aiming for! As for Asylum, I doubt it's 'just' going to be Asylum returning; there's surely got to be a new twist or a slight retheme or something.
