I know this is old news for many, but I too have got John Wardley as a friend suggestion on Facebook!
  2. Oh right, fair enough. :unsure:However, in theory, would my point still stand if we were take £20m for Nemesis nowadays?
  3. Right, I am going to voice my opinion on the matter as well - even though I am a bit late for it. Very unusual for me, I'm going to be sticking up for the parks slightly; shall play devil's advocate a little. Ends up being a pretty fair account..Firstly, before I forget... I'm not that good with economics really, but, if inflation means £10m for Nemesis in 1994 is equivalent to approx. £20m in 2010 (I do hope I've read that rightly), then that would that Th13teen, would only have been £7.5m in 1994? From the reviews I've heard in comparisons to Nemesis, that seems fair. Sorry if I've read that completely wrong though, please correct me if I've got the wrong end totally.Moving on, Thorpe and Chessie are on top form this season. I know I have many pessimistic attitudes towards the parks - especially Thorpe - but it is hard to say they are not doing very well. Both have had rebrands that suit their directions perfectly. For Thorpe, I may not be their biggest fan of the rebrand, but it is amazing. Their reliability has improved through the roof. For Chessie, they are ticking most of the boxes, and even making some new ones up along the way. Now, the negativity. Thorpe, it's the effects!! When I went today, I got a little dribble of water on me in Rumba Rapids. For a water ride, it is unacceptable. I haven't seen Saw's blades swing all year. Half the Bose speakers I see don't work. So on and so on. Chessie, haven't been as much, but I do think they need a spruce up. RMT for example.2010. Been a funny old year. Thorpe. They got Alive. I'm against the idea of a all year round maze and think it is a rubbish scare attraction. However, it suits the market. Also, notice how I say it fails at a scare attraction. For an attraction, it is amazing! With the right people, it is a great laugh! Chessie. Wild Asia. A new ride. It's about time most people would say. After countless years of the theme park stagnating and the zoo developing, something seems to have changed. As Mark and Mikey have brought up, whether a larger project will be as successful is unknown, but I'll give my views on that in a second. Also, the Wanyama Village bit. Very nice. Alton. Dark Forest. Again, the park's stagnation had to end sooner or later. They've got, from reviews I've heard, a pretty decent ride in the end with Th13teen. Also, a bit of Rita retheming shows they are putting effort in. Sonic Spinball. Nice new retheme and something that pleases guests. A pretty decent win in the end.So, where do I think everything's gone wrong? The marketing. Mikey said it - they make everything out to be the best thing since sliced bread. Of course, this is what marketing is meant to do usually. But it is because of this it fails. If Th13teen had been marketed as the family coaster it is, we'd be fine. If Saw had been marketed as "one of" the scariest rides or even Thorpe's most terrifying experience, we should have been fine (yes, more theming would have been good, but you can't have everything). But it is the struggle to make it seem the best and actually make it the best that we find ourselves fighting with Merlin about. Also, when it comes to fanboys, we're bound to nit pick. The GP probably have a different view to the park we do.In the end, I feel we're in a pickle. New rides need to be marketed more cleverly - rather than being 'the' best, they should be 'one of' the best; they should take a leaf out of supermarkets' books.. Then that way, they actually could put their money where there mouth is. Then, the park's can worry more about their own individual problems and hopefully seen them resolved - permanently.
  4. And it has happened before. *Wishes for power cut on next ride on Flying Fish*

Ooh, how freaky. I'm being stalked by the one who I stalk. That's can't be good..

Ah right, I was unsure to the actual cause and just going on what others had said. Can't wait to ride later this month!

  10. I'm in a very similar situation to James. Due to the cost and that and that it didn't work out as fair for it to be a family trip (being only for me), ended up not going and leaving an AT trip for later on. But now I could have gone on this trip! Ah well.
  11. JoshC. replied to Phill's topic in Nonsense
    Ah, was worth a try!

Now you've said about it, you may as well post it on here. :)I found a ton of old photos and ORPs recently. Gawd, some of the Depth Charge ones are terrible.
  13. I think there would only be 1 exam left after that date, so all year 11's would not be at school. And, if schools have sense, they'd be going on school trips before July as well. I know quite a lot of schools that do so.
  14. I can do next Friday. :DIf you PM / e-mail me any more details whenever, like number of photos and how long the biography has to be etc., that'd be good. I would say MSN, but I'm about to do some revision. :/
  15. JoshC. replied to Phill's topic in Nonsense
I took the plunge, and I floated. That's good enough.
  16. When'd you need it by? I'd be willing to help out, but could only do it this weekend, and that's pushing it. If not, I'd do it by the end of next week.
  17. JoshC. replied to Phill's topic in Nonsense
Double post, but meh.I took the plunge and all that, and will find out tomorrow if I sink or swim.

Yeah, sorry, I re-read it and it was really rather cryptic. But as said, I think it's easier to make a fairer decision without knowing the ins and outs, but much rather the basics. The reason why I have no idea is cause I keep changed my mind cause I know the details, and I know that if I shard the details, most people would probably do the same. I hope that makes a little more sense. And thanks Ryan for your opinion.

Right, okay, I need your help. The less you know about the situation I'm in, the better really. It is cryptic slightly I know, but just from the following description, could you help me out please?Do I take the plunge and do what I’ve always wanted to do, even though it is in a twitish manner and may not even work out and cause some problems, or do I take the easy route and crawl back to the start, which would make my life easier, but also lead to some other problems?Ta, Josh
  20. I can see queues for the main coasters getting to an hour or above. Flats easily reach 30 minutes. 99% of exams are finished and many schools are going to have trips there. Along with that, better weather means more people pulling a sickie from work, and even school.
  21. Off to Thorpe tomorrow.

The competition is open to EVERYONE.By everyone, it can mean any age, any act of any number. By everyone, they can be professionals or can be doing it for the very first time at their audition. Basically, it means you could have David Beckham (sorry, couldn't think of anyone off the top of my head ) on there doing football skills. It would just be a question of if he got through. Quite a few acts have had some previous experiences with fame, even if it is being backing singers - though not some much in this one. The Dance Flavourz group are huge in Portugal, especially the main man. So yeah, maybe slightly advantage, but all is fair to an extent.

A better question I've recently I asked myself is if I actually have any close mates. The ones who I would call my closest, though, do have dates or plans. And I feel sorry for your situation, can't really give any advice though. Sorry! So true!
  24. JoshC. replied to James6's topic in Stuff
Twist and Pulse are very good. Though I would say Burling deserves it more.I love Spelbound as well, but I can't say they should win. I would say they're the best and they have got the best talent, but they've got a much bigger stage (such as competitions) to be on. T&P have as well. That's why I say Burling to win, but I'd be happy with the other 2. Also, the drummer (forgotten his name for the life of me) would be rather deserving.

Trouble is, when I asked my friends, it kinda just went a bit hay-wire, everything spiralled a bit out of control and caused a mini row, as some had started to make plans, some hadn't, so basically, ends up I can't go with them. It's a tad understandable, but still a awkward. Thanks for the advice though. ;)Now for another rant, coming off from this...Basically, on tumblr, I've said the exact same thing that I said on here - considering not going to prom. Now, the majority of my followers (about 10 of them ) aren't people who I know very well or at, about 3 are people from school. As said above, apparently it's not one girl's fault that I'm not going to the prom with them, and is mine, and that they're not in the mood to argue or anything (according to Facebook, she's revising..). And then it goes even more into how I'm being attention seeking for being in a bad mood and so on. I'm not going to so I'm not being bit out of order, to an extent, I'm being rather rude. But when I'm getting attacked, and in a bad mood, I see it as bound to happen. Then it comes to how I wouldn't know what friends are for and how I have none. And how I'm leaving a sad, reclusive life of studying and going to theme parks. That's really peed me off - I can choose how I live my life. Now she's said that we'll have a chat tomorrow, once we've both calmed down. Yeah, that will be interesting. So yeah, not a happy bunny. :@
