  1. The station, in my opinion, is one of the best in the UK and possibly in the top 10 of Europe. The floor is actually blood-stained as well. While in the SRQ, I saw the blood stains in that queue. The blood goes from the main queue line, which I could see, and to the fake doors in the SRQ. However, due to the quickness of the queue in the station, you don't get much time to look. Plus, the SRQ makes it easier to see the 'tools' behind the metal mesh. The lights are also very good, espically when they are darkened and turned back up. The audio is great and all the plans are very good. Plus, the metal hand rails can be really cold, like the overall building in fact, and that really adds to the effect. Plus, the spaces between the wall boards letting small amount of light through is a good effect, planned or not. The manakins are a nice effect as well, espically the one representing the barbed wire maze from SAW I. The ofload station, although not as good, is still very good and still gives you the feel. The wheelchair lift as well has some very nice touches also.As for the whole indoor bit looking plain with the lights on. The lights aren't mean to be turned on, so what they've got is very good and doesn't have too much to see, but just enough. Much more would have meant that you wouldn'tof had enough time to see what was there. Plus, the ride did go over budget (well, I think so).

  2. Why are people so desperate for more SAW stuff? It would only spoil the novelty of SAW, all I'd like is different traps put in for the onride experience every couple of years. And possibly a retheme for Samurai, colouring it brown.Anyway, yet another plan I have...2010) Something small put in place of MHFS. Perhaps something like Berry Bouncers at Chessie. Repaint of Colossus and retheme of Samurai.2011) No new rides. New coaster on Treasure Island / new infill annouced for 2012 - something from Premier or S&S (Eagle Coaster) would be nice, a manufacturer they have yet to use for a roller coaster. Decent amount of theming (Nemesis class). The entrance is sorted out. Becomes more presentable, etc. Repaint of Colossus if it was not done last year.2012) New coaster. A support ride or two. A new FN maze is added on the island as well. Not sure what the best way to access it.2013) Hotel opens. Another ride on the new island. 2014 onwards) A new coaster to open in 2015, general exspansion further away from the general park area we currently have.

  3. Very good I must say. However, where Stealth is the park's iconic ride, I think that should be the centre of attention as opposed to Colossus and SAW needs to be bigger where it is new and VERY popular. Plus, Billy looks out of place. However, as I say, it is very good and is of the quality that Thorpe have. Perhaps even rivals it...

  4. Things to note about the ride DVDs...1) That was only a test; not finished product.2) Further things are going to be added - 'stock footage' (Official POV and off ride views), sound effects of some sort.3) A possible 'pre-show' from Jigsaw could be added.4) The cameras aren't capturing sound because ofa) Surrounding sounds could ruin it.b ) To stop other people's screaming / swearing rubbing onto your DVD.c) It could higher the overall product price.5) The inside part is not being filmed probably because of:a) Could higher overall product price.b ) Could ruin the effect of mystery.c) Filming would cost more and quality might be deterorated.

  5. ^The park stated during the 'Behind The Loops' tour last year that they are working on a 3 year coaster basis. In other words, a coaster is added every 3 years. (This has been happening since 2003, with Inferno, then Stealth, then SAW). The park probably don't want this to change, so that they can get enough money for a very good attraction, add 'support rides', etc. and so Merlin can focus on other attractions.(Mr. Hicks beat me to it!)

  6. Inferno's for me is really odd. I am just a little too big for one restriant 'click down' (understand me evryone?), so there is quite a lot of space between me and the restraint, which makes me feel unsafe. For me, the safest ones are SAW, rather ironic in some ways I guess. Plus, Rush is quite good as ong as the staff don't push down ultra tight.(oh yeah, and as for Slammer, my cousin can pop his shoulders out of the shoulder restraints if they are on him correctly (loosely, as th annoucer says)).

  7. There was always going to be some sort of headchopper, no matter what the theme.I think that because of the brand SAW and the need for official SAW stuff, a shop had to be put in place. I think the shop was put in place of where the sign was meant to be and the sign was moved to where windmill was, and then the windmill might not have been put in place due to the police car(?)(Oh, and actors add to the experince a little, more just gives you something to look at).

  8. Went to Thorpe Park today for the morning (had other things to do). Park was really quiet at opening. Everyone went to SAW, which opened late. Got on first Samurai ride of the day. That side of the park was packed, didn't fancy riding Loggers, which was empty, (it was a day for my mum - she didn't want to get any wetter).Went over to Inferno - dead. Got on twice (once at the front). Went on the Teacups (Teacup 2 = win). It was deserted this side fo the park. Headed over to SAW at 11 (now open) which had a 2 hour 15 minute queue, but was probably more. Colossus was 2 hours. Rush and Vortex were 40 - 50 minutes. Left at about half eleven to do the other stuff. It was like 2 diferent parks, Inferno side dead was like Thrill Chill (but with all rides open), SAW side was like a summer day.Ride CountSamurai x1Inferno x2Teacups x1

  9. Me too, although this is fantastic news. At last, the debate can stop about when one is coming, and work can begin.

Rumours have it that the hotel won't open until 2013 (2012 pushing it), so another roller coaster (which would have been manufactured for 2012 would have just opened).
  10. My 2ND ride on SAW and I think its got better , IMO best ride there by a mile. However again was annoying, as we were strapped in ready to go , restraint checked , countdown complete and we had to get up and go behind the gates again for ,I would say between 45 mins and an hour which wasn't too bad as regular chats with the happy and cheerful ride hosts made it easily bearable , apparently it broke down because someone entered the ride area. and then after that I was informed the inside part of the ride was causing the issue. Once again though the swinging blades were not working, so I am still yet to see the inside section in all its glory. Also operations were as well extremely annoying , a few weeks ago cars were constantly being sent round however today the cars wouldn't be dispatched until the previous 2 had returned.

Aah yes, the idiot that broke into the ride area. I was waiting close to the gates, three rides from riding.I take it you saw one ride assistant being chained up using their safety harness and the staff taking the micky out of him? That was a classic! Staff were quite friendly there (going against the theme of the ride ;)) and one said to me: "Honestly, we are on SAW. It is known for torturing people. WHy can't they just let the car hit him and let it be done with. It will only add to the theming." Great stuff.(Just to let you know, when I rode 3 rides after it was back in operation, the axes still didn't swing. Not lit up or anything. The crossbow-needles weren't lit up either. However, when I passed that MCBR, I was the axes, stationary at their highest point, lit up. No idea as to when they went back in operation. The body was lit up, but no blood). Similar situation James6?
  11. If you're interested, my ride count.Wet Wet Wet (Depth Charge?) - 1.The Flying Fish - 1.Rush - 1.Samurai - 1.Time Voyagers - 1.Storm In A Teacup - 1.Rumba Rapids - 1.Loggers Leap - 1.Tidal Wave - 1.Nemesis Inferno - 1.SAW - The Ride - 2.(pretty poor actually).

Wait a minute! You went on Easter Sunday, when most shops are closed, when the park is expecting full capacity, when you spend 4 hours queuing for one ride, and yet you get 11 rides! Considering you got on SAW twice (how?) and rides such as Rush, Samurai, Loggers, Inferno I'd say that is the opposte of poor.
  12. The actors in the plaza, stilt walkers / angel grinders, etc., are good, different yet have nothing to do with SAW. However, not much you can do there really. On AP day, there were two actors. One was in Jigsaw's 'favourite' trap, The Rack, which is similar to a crucifix. The other was masked and 'torturing' them. They also came and rattled the fences with some sort of stick. Every so often (between 5 - 10 minutes I think), the person being tortured will pretend to die, the masked person will carry them under the stairs and they will switch roles. In the summer and at FN, there will be more actors, oustide. I've been told they will climb the fences with 'barbed wire' at the top, could possibly be in some outdoor traps and will be doing various other things. There may also be a very different twist in store for unsuspecting guests...

  13. I have been on it 53 times now and that hasnt happened once!!

And how have you done that many rides?

ok.has anyone noticed that the car area has now been taped off???

The car area has always been taped off. At first, there was just chains. It was then replaced by the Police tape for a better effect. Sometime though, they have had to use it for make shift queue line. There will be no more actors now, the TP website stated they would be there throughout the Easter Weekend and that is it. They will return in the summer on soem sort of selected days.
  14. Whenever I see people going under the headchopper, it is easy to see heads bang around.Personally, I don't find it that bad. My first ride was quite a shock and a little bit painful, but now I expect it, so it isn't that bad. My head would usually only bang to the left and that is it. However, I do see how some people, perpared or not, could have much worse experiences. I take that this head-banging is due to the actual drop as opposed to any thing else. The 100 degree drop and the way it comes out of it are probably the reasons to it?

  15. Okay, Stealth could have been better. There could have been some great queue line interaction like Oblivion, and perhaps a better story line. The live DJ coudl have been kept, that really added to the atmosphere of the area. However, looking at the situation, not much more could have been done with the track. Okay, an overbanked turn or two would have been possible with some careful positioning. That would make the ride longer, but would it also reduce capacity? Plus, it would increase costs of an already over budget(?) rideStealth is at the moment an up, down and it is over ride. I personally think it was a bunch rubbish with too much hype. (SAW on the other hand gave out one tagline and then all of the other hype was made by each person - in my view).

  16. Just to confirm...Syringe pens ARE £1.50. They have been like this since Friday.Fastrack is currently not avaliable on SAW. You cannot buy it in any of the Fastrack packages, it is not avaliable by itself and is not included in the Ultimate Fatsrack package. If Fastrack does operate on SAW, each ticket will cost £4. In my previosu post, I was stating what usually happens with Fastrack.

  17. Colossus is doing far better than Nemesis (Alton Towers) this seasonAs well as flinging track rust/wax over the riders, it's breaking down for day's at a time, and vibrating when it does open!http://forum.towerstimes.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=23460Second page = :( Make's Colossus's downtime seem minimal.

But remember, Nemesis is much older than Colossus and has had some track replacement(?) You can't compare an old ride, which has had track work on, with Colossus at this time...
  18. If Saw is closed, why not drop by the Saw Store and pickup a Syringe Pen for only £1

Last I saw, they were £1.50...There are people saying Fastrack would be useful now. So, they think it is a good idea for about a quarter of those people to buy Fastrack tickets, so they can get on it about 2 hours quicker, and leave people in the normal queue waiting for at least half an hour longer... (Plus, at £4 a pop, I really don't see the point...)
