  1. Its TPM, just a free, cheap version.

Could you explain how? When writing about the rides, I've been trying to do it in my own, personal style. I've just compared some ride articles, and I see little to how they can be seen as similar. Thanks. :(
  2. A bit of a bump really, but oh well.Over the past couple of weeks, I've put in loads of info about the most of the rides. Bare in mind that I'm doing this in my spare time (which I don't have a lot of at the moment with GCSEs :(), so I can't get it all done at once. I've got photos in the pipeline - however, if anyone has any photos they would be willing to donate, it would be greatly appreciated (of course, you'll get credit and all that). http://thorpeparkinformer.webs.com/Any comments, suggestions, etc. are welcome and greatly appreciated. :(

  3. Well if it was a normal pizza, then I'd say probably the pizza guy. But considering it's a very confusing pizza, I'd agree with Ryan and the police would arrive first. Duh. However it also depends on the situation, for example: how far away the police station is. I could go on... :(

But what if the pizzeria is a really bad one where the most confusing pizza there is a ham and pineapple? Or if they are al just pre-made and just need to be thrown in the oven. I can go on just as long as you can... :(
  4. Okay, imagine this situation. You and your friend are at your house. You phone a pizzeria you have never used before and order the most complicated pizza there is to make. Simultaneously, your friend phones the police (direct to 999) stating that urgent police assistance is required (there is a robber or gunman or something). You both give the address at the same time. Now, my question to you is, who will arrive first? :(

  5. Uhoh's said it twice :(In other news, I'm going skiing in 2 days EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!I know you don't care. mehh.

Where you going just out of interest? Yes, I'm nosey. :(
  6. Loads of people criticise Vista, yet I don't know why. Sure, it's not the best, but hey, is any bit of technology perfect. Granted, I haven't used Windows 7, but in the end, I'm happy with Vista.

  7. We seem to have a '2 year rule' at our school - so it seems disgusting if a Year 10 is going out with a Year 12, or a Year 11 with a Year 9...Anyway, my rant. On Friday, some chavs decided to put together a conga at lunch time. They organised it via Facebook. It seemed like harmless fun. Now, the school are a bit over the top because they seem to think that every group about the school or its students needs to be monitored. When it went ahead, it was a bit of a fail. However, it some support. Then the chavs went inside. One of the teachers grabbed hold of someone in the conga line, who just carried on then the teacher fell over. She now apparently has a stiffened shoulder and a huge bruise on her leg (yet she still decided to wear HUGE high heels today...) The thing was, today, the male prefects got most of the brunt for it! One male prefect was involved in the conga, yet it was apparently "all of us". Because the people who started it were Year 11s, and it was started over Facebook, we were told off. We were told that we need to start being mature and be role models and we need to start doing more for the school. Thing is, most of the male prefects are mature and are role models. And as for doing stuff for the school, well, we've done more than enough. Our year is the most intellectual the school has ever had (and looking at the lower years - ever will have). Some of us are doing AS-Levels in our own time and we have helped the school go from in danger of closing down to one of the most improved schools in the UK. Yet, the school is doing less and less for us!! It is just more and more pathetic each day, and I am just glad it isn't that long before I get to leave the place...

  8. [*]Enforce a 10,000 maximum-visitor-a-day rule.

Firstly, don't think I'm having a go at you - I am not. However, that is WAY too unrealistic. As far as I know, the park regularly go over that, and having a maximum visitor count that low is just not feasible. Coincidentally, the park say they have a maximum visitor rule, but have never reached it...However, a very good, imaginative read. :)
  9. Okay, here is this week's Quiz. Everyone is welcome to enter and the closing date is Sunday. Same rules apply. 1) What is the maximum height Slammer reaches? [2]2) Which ride has the lowest maximum capacity per hour? [2]3) Who is the manufacturer of Detonator? [1]4) How long is the ride duration of Loggers Leap? [3]5) What is the maximum angle (in degrees, of course) that Rush can reach before E-stopping? [5] Points will be awarding for close answers. For ease, here are the current point scores (maximum is 11):noob230: 8Todge: 6Dummiguy: 4Good luck everyone!

  10. Okay dokey, here are the answers to this week's quiz:1) MCBR, Windmill, Dive Loop, were some of many answers possible.2) May 19793) 34) Space Station Zero5) Louis MountbattenAnd here are each entrants' results out of 11:noob230: 8Todge: 6Dummiguy: 4Because there weren't that many entries, I added noob230 because he did answer in the previous topic.Remember, everyone is welcome to enter at any time - but because points roll over, the sooner you enter the better. I'm not sure why there were a lack of entries this week - hopefully the next Quiz will be more successful. :)

  11. Voting has now closed, well done to everyone who entered and voted, thanks :)And the winner is... ELECTRICBILL!Well Done :) , A fantastic entry

Congratulations Bill. :)I take it the next Challenge will be revealed later tonight?
  12. I think they could do more theming with rita, rather than just make a the original theming (the tire) look dusty and old and adding in vines over it, what relevance does a tire have to dark forest theme with wraiths and the ancient burial ground site and the crypt like station?

I think the park are being very clever, and only showing a little bit of what is actually happening. Remember, you do have the control cabin. That looks very nicely themed. There could be more theming elements to be put in the surrounding area and the queue line. However, I think the key to a successful Rita retheme HAS to be the audio. Depending on what ride theme they are actually going for, the audio could be pivotal and explain a lot of the back story to the ride. Perhaps they have gone for the whole idea that the Dark Forest is consuming the land, hence why there are loads of vines and a dusty effect made.EDIT TO POST BELOW: Sorry, I knew I read somewhere. I'm just having a bit of a bad day today - my apologies.
  13. I have decided to retheme Colossus.Posted ImageFor 2011, Thorpe Park introduce Lolossus. With their decreasing popularity amongst fans, they decided something needed to be done. Though Colossus was due a retrack and repaint in 2010, they cancelled in February following the closure of the fan site SouthParks. Instead, they decided to give it a retheme that suited fans interests. However, because SouthParks had closed, they could not look through it to have what fans thought would be a better name - so they decided to look through here. However, they could not find a name fans thought would be better. However, they found that a lot of fans (past and present) used the name 'Lolossus' - so they felt it was the best name. Of course, the park couldn't decide on a new logo. However, they found a spare 'L', as the designers (like many others) thought the first incarnation was spelt 'Colossus'. This meant they could paste this 'L' over the 'C' - Lolossus was officially born. The ride itself features a new soundtrack, possibly getting rid of one of the better audio tracks the park had. The short loop features many people saying 'LOL' in strange ways along with some obviously faked laughter. Even a short queue means you hear the loop at least 5 times. The whispers have also gone; you know longer hear each loop. Instead, you hear 'LOL' said in many different forms, and much louder than the original whispering noise. The retrack went ahead - but due to a budget cut, they didn't get new track, just some old Intamin track from defunct rides clambered together. A repaint also went ahead. A slightly darker beige covered track and lighter blue on the supports (though it is very easy to come off) . They were planning on changing the entire track beige and the supports blue, but gave up the end, due to not having enough paint due to the budget cut. However, the painters got bored so used some permanent marker to write 'LOL' on random parts of the ride. Hope you enjoyed. :P

  14. This is the thing - if you don't like the way a teacher teachers and you wanna make suggestions, then open your mouth!!!!

Firstly, thanks for the advice. However, we have done this, plenty of times. We have told the co-ordinator of learning (or whatever the position is called) and she did little. We've also told our teacher that the way she teaches doesn't work for us and we don't like it. She replies with stuff like "well, the work's got to be done and this is the easiest way to do it", even though it clearly isn't. When we've told other teachers, they have accepted this and adapted for us (one even swapped teachers to make it easier for us). Thing is, our French teacher feels she is so good because she had got a 100% A*-C record in 5 years of teaching, and she has taught loads of languages. Yet, when we try and get help, it doesn't work!Again, thanks for your advice. :PAs for you Andrew, I cannot say any more than has already been said. Though I've never met you before, you seem like a great guy and I'm just sorry to hear that this has happened to you.
  15. My French teacher cannot stand my class, nor can we stand her. She came in in September and took over as head of MFL. We told her how far we had got to and how much we had done (basically nothing - out previous teacher was terrible). We also told her that we had done to first 2 (out of 4 modules). She said it was fine, and we spent the first half term and a couple of weeks of the second half term doing nothing but watch films in French. Then, all of a sudden, she goes berserk and starts panicking that we haven't done the Module 3 coursework. SO, we had to cram 2 bits of coursework in, when we should have been revising for out mocks. Also, she keeps moving us about to different classrooms. Even though we're in our final year, the year 7s are more important and need to work in a French classroom. Meanwhile, we have to keep swapping between History, Geography, English, god knows what else classrooms - even though we should take priority. One lesson, she just had a massive go at us randomly and went out crying (leaving us with nothing to do for 35 minutes of a 50 minute lesson). We did nothing wrong, yet she blames us. She hasn't even apologised to us.. We now basically hate her, and she hates us. She is happy for everyone to get Cs, even though about half the class are predicted B or above. Even though the majority of the class or well behaved during the lessons, she says that she is going to be "cracking down" on us, and making sure no one "steps out of line". Now, for homework, she is giving us 16 questions on a Wednesday, and expects answers (of about 2-3 sentences each) in for Friday. Then, she says she will mark all of them in class (while the class does what!?) and then she wants us to memorise off by heart all the answers to the questions, so she can ask us them on a Wednesday. It is ridiculously way too much and is far to much to do with everything else going on for other GCSEs.Argh.
