I have heard RUMOURS about Vekoma trying to doing a similar thing. It was built and the train pulled 10G's (bearing in mind the highest G's the body can take is around 5.5G's....
  2. Could I just ask if you could please use capital letters all the time and use proper grammar and that please. It's just it s slightly hard to read it all. Thanks I must say I agree with you. I do find that Admissions and Retail do seem to be left behind and not praised enough, especially when they are an essential part of the day. All Thorpe staff rule!

Here's MY Thorpe Park:2010: Small children's ride in MHFS spot. Jungle / Ranger themed. Samurai retheme and repaint. End of the year sees Colossus start to be repainted and refurbished. More events suitable for the whole family.2011: No Thrill Chill this season (only as a one off) so that work can be completed on Colossus repaint and a new entrance to be completed. No new rides. SAW has some effects changed to keep it entertaining for long time riders. General improvement to theming and working on a great atmosphere. FN maze Se7en is changed. 2012: A new wooden coaster opens in March (as Thrill Chill did return this year) on the new islands. I'm quite happy with my 'Safe as Steel' theme I came up with in a previous post, so it would be based around that. Would hope for it to only have a 1.3m restriction. One new flat ride, on a similar scale to Rush or Detonator, as well as a Splash Battle open on the island. A new FN maze opens in the area. 2013: Not much happens. Slammer replaced by a new flat; hopefully something new and innovative. 2014: X closes to be replaced by a new coaster next year that will cover its space as well as the arena. The ride itself is kept secret, but will have some digging take place.2015: New coaster opens, with an S&S Eagle coaster. The ride itself is very Nemesis like, in a pit dodging rocks, etc. and with the new style of coaster, a small story line along with some simple theming would create an amazing experience.

I feel on board audio on Colossus would work. Every time you go through an inversion, you hear it whispered. Would work great, but would never happen.

    Michael Jackson

Nothing major really to me. Yes, he's dead and it is a blooming great loss to the world, but I just don't really care. He would have done an amazing tour no doubt and would have pleased his fans, but I really don't care that much. Sorry if that seems harsh, but that's my viewpoint. Do feel very annoyed by how the media are being rather hypocritical though. ¬¬
  6. Without meaning to sound rude or anything, do you have to keep telling us?! You say it every other post and it is just getting annoying now. Again, not trying to sound rude Keith, its just that you say it so often it is just getting a waste of time posting it...
  7. The lighting has indeed changed. I think they added theming to it last month and changed the lighting so it could be seen or they needed to change the lighting so it could all be seen.As for the SAW audio, I could only assume they've been testing out different volumes, and you've heard a different a louder version...
  8. I still can't believe I got my vote in 30 seconds too late! Oh well, glad this whole competition is going well, will try and enter one sooner or later...
  9. Just putting this up again, to reiterate really. I'm 99% sure the park are planning their next coaster for 2012.As for the hotel opening itself, it is most likely to be built for 2013. This means the park has the chance to expand, use some of the new islands and have a new coaster open and some new flats most likely. This would be logically, as no one year is too expensive for them (or Merlin) and no one year would be to congested. However, it could be for 2012 to help accommodate with the Olympic tourists.

The same problem happened to me at one point - try installing Google Chrome, that solved my problem.
  11. Small rant with other elements mixed in...The admins and mods are busy for what seems like 5 minutes and now the whole forum seems to be crumbling away! I am honestly gob smacked! Can I just say - the admins and mods know what they are doing, do people have to tell them how to do their jobs!? Next, do people have to be rude / super-critical to newbies!? It is just rude, constructive criticism is helpful and remember - you don't really know who you are talking to, it could upset a person if you have had a go at!I now really feel sorry for the admins / mods. I now appreciate what they do so much. Remember, what they do is all in their own free time, so can't people just have a little more respect for other members and most importantly the admins and mods so that this forum doesn't go into self-destruct!?! Please...

It was said at during on of the first chats I think, that there will be designated times introduced soon - the opening now is rather soft. In other words, proper chats with a lot of people will be coming soon...
  13. Well, as FF is a powered coaster, I'd assume that it would reach the maximum speed (which is around 18.8MPH) in less time than that.As for the drop, it does feel of a similar speed to FF, so I'd assume it would be about 20MPH max.

    I'm on there right now!
  15. I think the reason why the indoor drop is much more 'forceful' than the main drop is because: It is usually unexpected. Most people can't prepare for it.It is smaller. It isn't as steep, thus meaning gravity pulls you down easier.
  16. Honestly, if you can cope with SAW, you'll be fine with Oblivion. Oblivion's drop is much smoother and longer, as well as being more fun. Therefore, you'll cope fine.As for the whole screaming thing, I do believe that for quite a lot of people, screaming is a way of releasing the adrenaline that is made when you're on such thrill rides. I know many people who scream on rides after they've been on it many times, for fun, or as a way to release the adrenaline. While I find the drop and the blades rather bland and more for show, some people may find screaming helps (that, or they are just generally scared).
  17. With concerns as to when the second car goes up the lift hill, I do believe that it is when the first car is on (or just passes) the outdoor MCBR. Thus why the cars 'meet' when one is on the brake run and one car is going up the lift hill.

Not to mention SAW; that queue line moves rather quick as well.Anyway, back on topic...
  19. Staff do not know exactly what cars are successfully recording and what are not - what I mean is they know that 5 out of 8 cars are recording, and they probably know what number cars are recording, but they can't find out and hold you up in the queue. It is bad enough staff are being asked all the time if people can sit in the front, they won't want people asking to be put into a car that is recording as well.
  20. I'd say that the second entrance to the SAW island is the perfect chance for a scare zone. The island itself would be good, but there is little space, plus families go there to look at their other family members photos or look in the SAW Store. Thus, the second entrance would be perfect. A sign stating how this isn't for the faint hearted, etc. and should mainly be undertaken by people who are wanted to ride SAW, etc. would be perfect!
  21. Syringes pens were back in stock as of today.
  22. For those who want confirmation about ride areas being 'abandoned': (From questions to TP)Also, on last year's 'Behind the Loops' tour, it was said by TP themselves that, like Fever said, the park is becoming a 'Thrill Island' or an 'Experience Park'.
  23. I usually go earlier on in the week (I also went on Tuesday) as I find that to be when the park is quieter. Will probably be popping down tomorrow and will give details of what it was like.

You always say that, but then you get carried away into a whole new idea. Not that I mind of course.Anyway, mine:2010) Ranger County is unfortunately out of place - so is re themed into a jungle land. As the park isn't concerned with themed areas much, it just means that the rides receive a small spruce up as well as new names as well as logos. The Fungle Safari is replaced by a ride like Bouncing Berries at Chessie (What are those types of rides called?) and is themed to a tree (well trees). The same queue line is kept - maybe extended - and, like Fungle, the ride is closed for FN when The Asylum is in use. The rest of the area is used for greenery, maybe just a quiet bit of grassland. A repaint of Samurai.2011) Over the closed season, Colossus was repainted and had the effects sorted out and a little bit more theming added. The entire entrance area is redone and the car has little extras (like ride models) scattered round to make the area look a bit nicer. A new coaster is announced for 2012.2012) A new woodie opens on the Treasure Island and infill island. The ride is themed as a dilapidated roller coaster that could break down any minute. The queue line shows timber which is broken parts of tracks. A bit like Oblivion, with the reassurance that the ride is safe, but with just announcements as opposed to being on TV screens. You are told the ride is 'safe as steel' and 'can't collapse'. However, ''newspaper reports'' throughout the queue line say otherwise - that 'wooden structures can't be built on islands' (you are repeatedly told you are on an island) as well as other reports about how 'wooden roller coasters have been deemed unsafe', etc. The ride station is on a similar style Colossus (in other words, a small building). The ride itself would have on board audio (yes, this is possible). The 100ft lift hill has the strange man who then says how the ride is still 'perfectly safe' and then a noise is heard which basically sounds like part of the structure underneath the train is collapsing. He then says how he knew the ride was 'a wooden junk yard' followed by a manic laugh and then the train goes off round the track. Typical track for a woodie, weaving throughout the structure, etc. and from time to time the manic laugh is heard. The ride ends with the train going through part of the ride and the man saying 'see, safe as steel' and the train then enters the station. (Perhaps even room for an on load and offload station). Of course, the main appeal for the ride itself would be 'Safe as Steel' - in other words, that's the slogan.
  25. To the best of my knowledge, SAW is still running without the MCBR trims. Well, it seemed like that on Tuesday - the dive loop was insane!
