  1. About 90% of the gate figure from opening to 12pm end up in the queue for The Swarm, so in any sense they may as well just open the coasters at 10am
  2. I feel The Smiler will be thrown into the limelight again as a girl has died in Sux Flags Magic Mountain. It has already poured into the news article of The Mirror: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/magic-mountain-girl-aged-10-5891693?ICID=FB_mirror_main
  3. I like how people said they where "stunned" it's almost like they have been living in a black hole their entire lives.
  4. Universal are doing well in relation to guest figures. Almost all of the Florida parks have seen an attendance increase in 2014 compared to 2013. http://www.mynews13.com/content/news/cfnews13/on-the-town/article.html/content/news/articles/cfn/2015/6/3/theme_park_attendance_2014.html
  5. Unless there is evidence that this was a little more than Human Error and more a case of "terrible maintenance/incompetent staff members", I seriously doubt a criminal law suite would go anywhere. If this was a case of being beyond anybody's control, all a law suite would do is compensate for the injured.
  6. Stealth being Stealth I can only assume. Ha ring worked on it for 3 seasons it regularly kicks up a fuss for a few days.
  7. Unless I am mistaken but I believe those are only useful at relatively low speed collisions, they would be almost useless at high speed.
  8. I think it would be of great surprise to many if The Smiler returns at any point in the 2015 Calander.
  9. Alas, the media care not of their knowledge, only power. Even if they had the intellect many enthusiasts have, they would be forced to report otherwise.
  10. From this point forth, please can all members keep the threatening tone to a minimum. Whilst I'm sure we can all agree, that the interview was unfair and we are all entitled to our own opinion, however, threatening behaviour is unacceptable. Please take a more political stance in regards to the Interview.
  11. I reckon the Ropers are sending in duff information. On a side note, whilst battling the humidity of Lanzarote, I was watching Sky News, the latest news report on the incident ended with the lady saying "the future of The Smiler and Saw is looking bleak". Hmm...
  12. It wasn't replaced, they where reviewing the integrity of the cable and ensuring that any extra measures of safety could be be implemented. This is why parts of the launch track now have higher catwalk rails.
  13. Just going to add, if Smiler is anything similar to SAW, when trains have been moved around manually they have to execute a Block Reset to inform the PLC where the trains are on the track and what block us free. If this was the case and the block was reset to say it was empty this could be the reason the train departed the lift.
  14. I've operated Storm Surge, which has 5 cameras, only about 40% of the ride is actually visible from the cameras.
  15. I honestly find it revolting how many of you are bickering over what went wrong and almost oblivious to the fact that 16 people, 4 of which seriously, have been injured. Who gives a pigs bum what the stock level is, who cares that the manufacture weren't notified instantly.
  16. I honestly can't believe they are still clinging on to this terrible concept.
  17. Ride & Rave was made complete with the finale being a Pendulum DJ Set. Back then the line-up was pretty fantastic too for such a small event! Pendulum DJ Set Tinchy Stryder Rudimental Skepta The Wideboys Majestic If they had all those guys then I would actually buy an Annual Pass and go to every event.
  18. I hope they get Pendulum to do a DJ set, they where absolutely fantastic at their last music event.
  19. My Fright Night one is better
  20. Really starting to get a look at the scale of the attraction. Much bigger than originally looked!

    Jobs..

I've been put forward for a Management program at work
  22. The only coasters that have ever generally shut in high winds is SAW and The SWARM. The SWARM has too much wind resistant to be considered safe, it has a high chance of stalling. And, SAW, well that stalls when someone coughs at it.
  23. I think if we got something similar to Forbidden Journey at Universal, we could be on to a winner. The contrast between screens and sets is remarkable.
  24. ^ Don't forget the cable ties.
