  1. No posts in this thread last year but anyway - Tulley's are going for four new haunts this year, however, two of those replace Glitch, which lasted 1 year (it was very poor to be honest) and The Carving, which lasted 2 years. I think The Carving rehash is going to be minimal to be honest, but interested what they do with Glitch. Thirteen haunts this year then - Four new ones, Coven, Creepy Cottage, Purgatory, Doom Town, Wastelands, Chop Shop, Haunted Hayride, Electrick Circus and, for reasons unknown, Hellements still exists. I guess the hood thing is scary for some people, I personally find it boring as hell but each to their own. New Haunt 1 - "Nothing Stays Hidden Forever" - rats in the photo also, underground burial vibes maybe... New Haunt 2 - "The Fire Is Rising" - looks like Roman style architecture from the photo, looks like more Hell themes New Haunt 3 - "Every Family Has A Beginning" - clearly the Carving rehash, abandoned farmstead time. New Haunt 4 - "Every Secret Leaves It's Mark" - thought they were flags in the photo but they're actually saw teeth/blades I think. Not sure on this one. Will these be anything hugely different to anything before? We'll see. I have to reiterate just how good Purgatory is and it was great to see them mixing it up with something completely different. Hopefully one of these new mazes has a similarly USP. "Glitch" last year wasn't it.
  2. It's easy to forget that they did that, at what would have been an obscene cost as well. Oh the glory days of 2010s speculation....
  3. I think what Thorpe need to do to spike interest is to get the Derren Brown IP back on Ghost Train. Thorpe is certainly entering an interesting/worrying (delete as appropriate) phase in it's timeline. There are a whole bunch of flats getting very old all at the same time, Stealth starting to become a bit of a worry, Slammer area empty (still).... then you have question marks over the longevity of TWD and what they do once that IP runs out, Ghost Train as a ticking time bonb that surely has SBNO written all over it sooner rather than later - and now Rumba Rapids rotting whilst they decide what to do next. If they suddenly decide to get a flat or two for 2027, when would we need to see planning permission? Next few months I assume?
  4. Can't wait to see those colour coded entrances that SLKSTN loved so much finally in use for an event. Sick!
  5. Haven't been to Thorpe yet this year but I can't wait to get in and see that fire effect finally in action! 🙃
  6. Feel like pure sh** man, just don't need this Stealth negativity in my life. Therefore I am happy to confirm that Stealth will be operational for FOREVER. Anyway, Colossus will be the first coaster to go 'cos turquoise paint is very expensive now.
  7. The fact that the retail unit there sells just ice cream is absolutely mind boggling. Get some cocktails/mocktails for sale, and some street food like Cargo at Alton Towers recently and they'd be laughing.
  8. Love the nod/Easter Egg to the old entrance screen with some dead pixels on the BRAND NEW SCREEN.
  9. 23rd-25th possibly might tie in with The Launchpad being open or am I thinking too joined-up here for Merlin?
  10. Teacups confirmed removal for 2027.
  11. Can I throw Second Detonator Tower in the ring? Would make the repaint make sense, as the second one will be brand new.
  12. Maybe.... there is some sort of higher power after all. Russ would be proud.
  13. The Detty repaint is the most bizarre decision because, even if it looks scrappy (can't say I've ever noticed anyway), does it really matter? It's not like it's a sprawling coaster track. Can only assume it was a case of "we've got this money to spend, let's do that". Rumours that the Inferno station has had some improvements and that the BOSE cannons are working again but we shall see! Talking of Colossus - the repaint of the walls near the bridge to yellow was already looking god awful last season.
  14. MattyMoo replied to Ash's topic in The Past
We will never hear those beautiful words again.... RED BOAT SIT DOWN PLEASE.
  15. Exactly this... "The RAP queue is as big as the main queue!"... ""It's all booked up for months" Yeah, wonder why that is...
  16. My concern is that 2026 is going to be a "meh" year for attendance following Hyperia not exactly setting gate figures on fire last year, meaning all the more reason for the powers that be not to invest in anything for ages, and thus the cycle continues. I know it was the "good old days" but I was today years old when I learnt that Inferno opened the year after Colossus. Mad. Chances of that ever happening again....? 😆 I hope if but when Rumba goes, like yourself, it doesn't remain SBNO for ages as it's a HUGE area of land, and as soon as it goes we know what's coming next. You can, rightly or wrongly, sort of get away with Slammer being there SBNO for so long, but Rumba no so much!
  17. A real sign of the times, that - shame.
  18. Sonic Spinball had to be rethemed for similar reasons, the allegations that Knuckles filed meant they had to quickly drop the brand in closed season so it's definitely possible they could reopen as just David Land and drop the Walliams.
  19. The talk of Ghost Train baffles me, as it's the future of theme parks.
  20. Tidal Fire Effect confirmed returning?
  21. Thorpe Park now post on the forum under the alias' Jart and Parm Pap.
  22. Marp backwards is Parm.
  23. I complained about this before and got shouted down on socialz saying I should have planned my time better and stopped for 10 minutes to get something to eat 🙃 ...I haven't been to a Fright Nights since, as the idea of paying for mazes and not getting them all done - potentially - I found insane.
  24. This, and this alone, is reason enough for me to never visit Fright Nights on a pay-per-maze basis.
  25. Tidal Wave fire effect is still not working, in case anyone didn't know.
