  1. There's enough salt in here to fill a restaurant supply for a month... How else can they test the ride? I bet if they did do it out of hours there'd be the same people moaning that the park is being secretive and ignoring the paying public (even though they're trialing it with the paying public, just those at the hotel)... Damned of they do, damned if they don't...
  2. It opening will of course be dependent on the response from hotel guests... Woe betide being on here if it's negative and causes further delays...
  3. Benin replied to NickD's topic in UK Attractions
You can't moan about something being too low capacity and then call for Robo-Arms...
  4. It would be horrid, bear in mind how Vampire swings even now when approaching a turn... It judders along now and even the older version with the heavier trains would've been dreadful... It'd be down to the constant motion and moments acting on not just the train, but the swinging components as well... The train won't stop swinging in the inline due to how the Arrow suspendeds work (since they still swing when they hit brake runs due to momentum)... You have two separate sections of movement going on and then when you add in the inverted element and I really cannot see a way you could make it an enjoyable experience... Some rides weren't meant to include inversions...
  5. By looks of things it was because it "showed the park in a bad light"... Imagine if Towers did that this year... Or if Thorpe took exception to pics of Loggers... Didn't realise Mark, wonder what TPR would make of that, since half of their opinions if a park is based on how much ERT they get...
  6. After Phantafriends.de, its a very weird situation that the park seem intent on causing problems with fanboys... Any idea on the articles that caused the rage?
  7. Based off how imposing TTD looks when you're right under it, that structure is better than the minimalistic approach of Stealth... Still looks ugly and out of place though...
  8. People on here must HATE trying to get gig tickets... That's even more upsetting a situation to suffer large numbers of traffic... Has it really been a PR disaster beyond people moaning that they didn't get a deal? Compared to Thorpe's selling out BEFORE the time it was due to start?
  9. 2 days at Europa is pretty dependent on your opinion of park shows I'd say... Good day planning and efficient queues mean that you can do pretty much everything worth riding at least once in two days easy... Adding shows to the mix obviously means losing time though... Driving in Germany is fine, they're all pretty sensible (like most of continental Europe), just expect cars to suddenly appear out of nowhere in the fast lane of the Autobahn because they're driving at 150mph... Can't answer anything else really... Hotels are always a tricky subject and I stayed in Stuttgart last time I was in that area... I would suggest shunting Holiday Park and Tripsdrill in favour of Phannyland though... But that just complicates matters further...
  10. Be great to see them finish the entrance plaza with it (something that started with Maya Land and continued with the Theatre and waterpark)... Wonder how much it'll be...
  11. You know the first week of the summer holidays isn't actually that bad right? Tbh, Summer Nights would've been perfect for goons to go and whore out this thing... Shame they cancelled them...
  12. Yes, but the odds on being allowed to build in the valley are so unlikely... It's one of the reasons why the woodie barely breaks into the woodland...
  13. Wonder if Thorpe got any inspiration from the Xpress Platform 13 queue at Walibi Holland... I am fully expecting a train jump scare at some point... That and some reflections...
  14. Going back to themed uniform, let's look at Disney and more directly, Tower of Terror... Those outfits are very basic when you consider what they actually are, trousers and a jacket and a hat... There's a bit if detailing, but really nothing too over the top... Its something that you see throughout Disney, basic, practical themed outfits... Good on UK parks joining the fray I say...
  15. Have we not considered that staff require practical clothing? Like, there's some things worth moaning about, simplistic themed uniform is not exactly a flaw with this project...
  16. I feel left out Ryan, I would say Kong is screen heavy because that is the predominant feature of the ride (especially the 360 degree one)... 3 separate rooms I read for screen based action? With 2 animatronic rooms and then the outdoor section? Overall balanced on paper but the majority of the attraction does seem to take place in a screen room...
  17. Love it, moan when POVs look slow, moan when they look fast... The obscene levels of hangtime in that first inversion though? Much dread... Also Creek, whether or not it bests Helix is a pointless thing to consider... Nor does it really matter whatsoever...
  18. Paging Ryan to see if he was OUTRAGED about Kong have staff trials when the park was open...
  19. See also any TPR review ever for "OMG SO GOOD!"... Unless Lord Alvey decrees otherwise of course...
  20. Wonder if these queue line actors will be cut in the future?
  21. Who built Swarm? Since Merlin used TG Cruise for both Gersts they've built and we all know the trouble they've had with land slips and the like... The oldest Eurofighter in the world had fewer kinks in it that Saw... There must be some external factor that means that many non-Merlin Eurofighters don't tend to bash you into oblivion...
  22. The MASSIVE JOLT at the base of the main drop is the main culprit... Still amazes me how smooth many other Eurofighters are... Must have been the construction at Merlin...
  23. No, they didn't... You'd be daft to think that such an image wouldn't have been taken swiftly offline if it were real... Also, staff would be told verbally or via a note in the staff room... Not via an online image...
  24. Midweek would be ok... If it wasn't school trip season...
