It may well have been, I was on park today so thought it was worth mentioning as I haven't seen anything else in this topic to suggest that it has been.

Valhalla has won best water ride in the world in the Golden Ticket Awards! Well deserved IMO, it's a fantastic ride.
-
Bubbleworks is on full capacity today.
-
That's the thing though, there was no queue. A 45 minute queue is not "low demand", walk-on is.
-
Telling guests that there is "low demand" when they are stuck in a 45 minute queue does not cut it.
-
Funny, you would think that if they felt so strongly about the environment, it would be the same at all Merlin parks... So how come Alton Towers will always run rides on two trains even if there is "low demand?"

Just noticed that the £1 charge is not a booking fee, as I tried to order for two passes and it charges per pass. So this is essentially an event fee despite the fact that it was advertised as FREE. I'm sorry, but if they were doing this to limit numbers then it would be a £1 booking fee per order, this is clearly just a way to squeeze just that little bit more money out of loyal customers.

Thanks for the info, I've found the folder now but it's blank

I have an issue with this, in that I cant find the folder the pictures save in.

Just had a thought, isn't Magma already a dinosaur themed ride in a completely different area to this?
-
Out of interest, did you notice whether there were as many cars on the system?
-
It definitely used to run more efficiently than that.Fed up of rides having their throughputs reduced, it's the last thing they need at Chessington!

Those staggered openings are awful! Zufari is understandable, but four attractions opening at 12 is poor.

Actually, booking is a good idea, although I don't think it should be compulsory for annual passholders (which they usually say it is). A deposit would be much better and it wouldn't have to be £10 - they could make it a £1/£2 deposit and it would still have the same effect of preventing people from booking for the sake of it. The thing is, I didn't know that this year was going to be so bad at the Merlin parks. There have been so many little hidden charges popping up this year (such as the CWOA car park and this), as well as possibly the worst operations in recent years and closures - but I didn't know this was going to happen when I bought the pass. No, but they don't hit capacity outside of school holidays (or do they?) In which case, there's no need to make people pre-book outside of the very busiest times.
-
What relevance is that? I spend money on the day there to buy things, whereas I shouldn't have to spend money to enter an event which I have been told was included in the pass. I agree that they should have a system to stop people wasting places, but there are other ways of doing it - a refundable deposit for example. That being said, with an annual pass you shouldn't have to book anyway IMO, you should be able to use your pass as you can in any other park. It's not as much the £1 that's angered me, it's the principle behind it. You'd think that £200+ was enough, obviously not. Now that's a better idea, trouble is they wouldn't get any more money that way.
-
No, I'm sorry but this is wrong. They are called ANNUAL passes for a reason, this is yet another way to take just that bit more money from people! I don't care that it's only a pound, I paid the best part of £200 for my premium pass under the terms and conditions that Fright Nights are a FREE event. To charge this (and let me guess... booking is compulsary?) is an absolute disgrace and yet another example of Merlin showing no care towards loyal customers. Think I'll be making a decision not to renew my pass, fed up of Merlin constantly upping charges that were not part of the T&C's and when their parks are run as badly as they have been this year, I don't see why I should bother.

I think these figures are 2014's, so the park has actually been in profit throughout this year but they release their figures a year late - so it probably means that last year was a warm summer. I was on park on some warm summer days in August this year and it was heaving, haven't seen it so busy in years.

The fact that dark rides are not dark! When you build a building, it should be dark inside the building as there is no natural light coming in. The game should have lighting in the scenery section IMO.
-
The pit could be part of the ride, or it could simply be a maintenance bay underneath the ride station.

^ That looks like an old Asylum fence to me, not sure what it's doing there though. It would be great if Blair Witch Project got an improved ending this year.

BPB returns to profit: http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/news/article-3223488/Blackpool-s-roll-theme-park-returns-profit-thanks-warm-summer-rise-British-staycation.html Great news!
