  1. I think track construction will slow for a while now as footers for the top end of the site still need to be cast. Although by the looks of it yesterday, this has already begun which is good news.
  2. Thanks for the information everyone. Do you think that all of the major coasters and flats will be open in the 10am-6pm day if the temperature is set to be 0 degrees? Many Thanks
  3. Hi everyone, I am planning on visiting this weekend with a 2 hour journey and was wondering what rides are usually affected by cold temperatures as the forecast is predicting temperatures of 1 -3 degrees throughout the day? Do any rides not open at all or does Thorpe usually manage to open all rides by the end of the 8 hour day? I've never been to Thorpe in the cold before so am anxious about my friends getting to ride everything. Many Thanks
  4. So can I just use the normal zig-zag queue to the regular turnstyles with my friends instead of being separated? Do the turnstyles scan Merlin Annual Passes or does it have to be handheld scanners. This is for Thorpe btw. Many Thanks
  5. Hi all, Just wondering, if entering with a Merlin Annual Pass do you have to queue in a special queue to enter the park instead of the usual makeshift zig-zag queue set up at the beginning of the day. Also, can my non annual pass holder friends enter the same way as me with their regular tickets as I don't really want to split up from them. Many Thanks

    X

Quote from Thorpe's Facebook: "Are you ready to ride on a wave of light and sound as you experience the evolution of X:\ No Way Out? X has been renamed and is heading in a new direction in 2013 as it challenges adrenaline seekers to face a rollercoaster experience like no other at THORPE PARK. Thrill your senses with a race through light and sound that will plunge you into a mix of intense colour and music. Redesigned and reprogrammed around light and sound, the X trains will now speed forwards into tunnels of changing coloured light. And with a new coaster experience, new fans can enjoy the ride when, for the first time, thrill seekers in the making will be able to face the challenge of X."
  7. Was just wondering whether someone would be able to give me a quick member menu of Roast and Relish as Thorpe still haven't uploaded one a year after it opened? Am curious about trying one on the next visit but I always like to know the menu before hand. Many Thanks
  8. WOW. Just WOW. I love it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bmui8MfOu5A&feature=youtu.be (also seems to confirm additional inversions such as the inverted drop)
  9. Also just to add, the hashtag #GetCorrected is still being used as it was used in today's update by Towers. Still think the FB page is a fake until confirmed in some way by Towers.
  10. Hey everyone. I'm planning on taking all of my friends for an end of exams trip to Thorpe but I'm not sure which date would be best. Obviously we would like to get the most amount of rides done as possible so which would be better out of: Sunday 17th March Sunday 24th March Sunday 31st March Many Thanks
  11. Earlier today, the website was updated which advertised that the Fright Nights day on the 'Opening Times' calendar would be 10am - 10:30pm. This has since been changed back to 10am - 9pm. I'm guessing they have made a mistake. Shame
  12. Is it just me or have the time on the Opening Times page for the website been reverted back to their previous times? I hope not as I was looking for to the 10:30pm Fright Nights close.
  13. Great trip report. Doesn't look like as bad an event as some have been making out. Can't help but notice the drooped string lights over the towers were on and it isn't the fireworks event yet. Do you know if they were testing or if they are permanently on for the rest of the season now (hopefully the latter).
  14. Great photo's as always. Also, if there is still any speculation about the manufacturer of SW7, it has now been confirmed by Gerstlauer themselves, that SW7 is being manufactured by Gerstlauer. Listen closely from around 2:00 onwards from this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxFSgFOMp9M&feature=g-all-u Just to end the speculation (if there was any).
  15. For those asking, some statistics about the No Limits Recreation, bearing in mind that the indoor section has no known layout and so the recreation follows this basis (and that No Limits is no way perfectly accurate). Track Length is 1108.14m Height from lowest section of track to highest point is approximately 32m The top speed peaks at 81km/h Remember to note that No Limits is not an accurate representation of the real life values but are a good estimate. Also to note, the landscaping at the bottom of the SW7 site is very dissimilar from that of the recreation.
  16. Hey there, In your opinion, which Sunday do you think will be the quietest, Sunday 2nd September which is the last weekend of the school summer holidays, or Sunday 9th September which is the weekend after the schools have gone back? Advice is much appreciated.
  17. I present to you my No Limits Recreation of GateKeeper, with entrance keyhole feature! Enjoy!
  18. Hopepro186: - Probably will be busy as it is the middle of the summer holidays, however, as it is a Tuesday, it will be slightly less busy than the weekend. Also, travelling to the park may be affected because of the Olympics. I'd suggest you look on Thorpe's website for directions as they have Olympic related diversions on there. Ibwoody: - Probably will be averagely busy still as most schools don't go back until the Wednesday or Thursday of that week. Should be a little quieter than the end of August though.
  19. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know whether the timed Swarm scream is working again that is triggered as the train passes under the plane wing? It certainly was a little effect that I missed on my visit.
  20. Thanks for all the advice, it really helps.Sorry for being a hindrance, but does anybody know whether the Pizza Hut Buffet do any other dishes aside from Pizza, such as Pasta and Salad. A bit off topic, sorry about that.
  21. As I am visiting very soon in the Easter Holidays and I don't visit very often, what order of rides would you recommend?Would it be best to do the opposite side of the park to The Swarm first and then do The Swarm later in the day, or go to The Swarm first, or something completely different?Help is greatly appreciated.
  22. For someone who rarely visits Thorpe like myself, do you think it is worth going on this as well as Colossus bearing in mind the roughness and if so, has anyone got any tips?
  23. Here is a segment showcasing the attraction from a local TV news programme, and still they are hyping the ride up.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYPBDbOEqHY
  24. Another little teaser advert.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDxjoJbj6I0&feature=plcp&context=C4764264VDvjVQa1PpcFOEclWTvNwZC5i50t1t9FACKuGkY_dlcrA%3D
