Walking in a Winter Wonderland
Mitchada04 replied to Mitchada04's topic in Your Planned Trips and Reports
Now I didn't take any photos so you'll have to make do with the previous ones. So I woke up this morning to be told we could go to Winter Wonderland again. I didn't hesitate and within an hour we were setting of to London. We left with the aim of getting there as near to the 10 opening because we took our dog with us to give him a nice walk in Hyde Park. When we arrived just after 10 it was nice and quiet. My parents said I could do 4 rides and having missed out on Power Tower last year (yes I can say that now ) I headed straight there. Whilst it may cost £6 I love it, you get such a good ride time and many different experiences of falling and launching. And who doesn't like looking over London for a few minutes. With that out of the way I decided to do Blizzard because I had heard great reviews about it. £7 worth of tokens to the man and I was on. One of the best experiences ever, being flung through the fresh London air is spectactular, and then hanging at the top for a few minutes whilst they loaded the other pod led to a nice view of Hyde Park. 2 rides down and 2 to go and Showtime was calling my name. The only other experience I can compare to this is Vortex but Showtime is much better. You spin so much more and get many more swings. It is also in my eyes the prettiest looking ride at night which I saw on my last visit. Now I had 1 ride left, I could have chosen Air, Wilde Maus or even Power Tower again but I went for the insanely bizzare but awesome Alpen Hotel. The mad house part is possibly the best I've ever been on and the ending is very odd but great. I won't say what it is but the Germans have a weird interpritation of their pubs. And with that done my time in Winter Wonderland was done. The walk around part of Hyde Park with the family and dog was nice though and you get some great views of Winter Wonderland aswell. And that's it, first ride of 2013 was Power Tower (much better compared to Bubbleworks being my first and last ride of 2012 thanks to Zoo Days). I can't wait to return to Winter Wonderland next year (or later this year even) to see what new things they will have to offer. Thanks for reading this and my previous report -
A new photo of SW7's construction has been posted by TowersTimes over on their FB page. Doesn't look like much has happened since that image Towers sent out over a week ago but we don't know what's been happening at the top of the construction site.

GateKeeper in the snow, looks perfect on the skyline. Do I spy the completion of the camelback. I do! Can't wait for the entrance pillars and zero-g to be built.

The November part of the calender has been added meaning another 4 days of Halloween at 10-7. What surprised me was the week leading up to half-term (19th-24th October) is open 10-5 but classed as Halloween obviously meaning they will have the Halloween extras open then. I would much rather they save the money from paying the actors that week and go back to 8 pm closing over half-term. As for the AP weekend, on the back of the Zoo Days map it says that you will be able to book your ticket from February so it will be just like this years event which I have no problem against because they can set a sensible limit of people allowed in.

As long as you and your friend meet the height requirements you'll be fine. Some rides just offer a variance in price for over and under 12s. Air doesn't though so it is £6 for anyone who wants and is able to ride.

Correct Smidget, I didn't even get one of the deputy head roles. Your turn.

Right then. 1) The team that I bowl for are top of the Thursday night league that we are in 2) I am the head boy at my school 3) I went on The Swarm every time I visited Thorpe this year

I have a 50% chance so why not, number 2?

Theme UK have released a few more images of the vehicles today. I love the detail that has gone into these and hope this level of detailing can be seen throughout the whole of Zufari.

I have no idea if Zufari will be open for Zoo Days next year from Novemeber. It may because it can be accessed from the zoo but they have to hire and pay drivers of the trucks all the time it's open. As for its throughput, I believe it was stated to be 1000 pph (which for Chessington is decent). It will be a free to use attraction (but I'm sure if you wanted to pay fast track will be available). My opinion on Zoo Days is great, they have to pay zookeeping staff all the time so why not open it up to the public. The addition of rides is nice too but in a way I don't want them to open loads. It's nice and peaceful when quiet so makes wandering around the zoo really enjoyable.
