Or they maybe going ahead with the the main rumour which is that they are turning Mantis into a floorless coaster , makes sense when they say its getting squashed.
-
Maybe thats a good thing though as that means you could get different monsters in different areas not knowing whats going to jump out at you, sort of like an unknown quality like with CITW with its many doors.

I'm surprised Oakwood left Hydro closed throughout august, I don't know maybe they will repair it in the weeks when it is only open on weekends in september and october but then it wouldn't surprise me if they leave it closed for the rest of the year seeing that their maintenance budget is crap.

I am waiting for the official reveal, but so far I am disappointed with the concept.
If it is the real mccoy then I like the concept I would think it's quite unique in that way but then whos any of us to judge until we actually go inside it.

According to Towers Times A new maze is replacing Carnival of screams, but The Sanctuary is set to stay. Interesting...
"Details for Scarefest, Alton Towers Resort’s annual Halloween spooktacular event, have today been confirmed. Running from Saturday 18th October to Sunday 2nd November, the event will provide a range of frights and thrills for the whole family and feature a brand new attraction for 2014.
Set to replace Carnival Of Screams which has been running since 2010 will be an all new scare zone “Scary Tales”, featuring a unique and twisted take on classic fairy tales, having been rewritten so that nobody lives happily ever after and nightmares always come true. Will you be brave enough to reach THE END of the Scary Tales book? Also new for 2014 are some exciting additions to the resort wide atmosphere, building on successes of the past and adding a touch of spookiness across the park.
Useful InformationScare zones and other minor attractions are included with regular park admission.
The Sanctuary and Terror of The Towers will require the purchase of an additional ticket, available in advance via the resort website or on the day from The Resort Box Office, subject to availability.
Multi award nominated scare maze, The Sanctuary will make a welcome return for 2014, ready to once again entice new patients into its now legendary correctional facility for marmalization and correction. It is expected that some changes will be made due to the absence of Dr. Kelman; however it is not yet clear what these changes will be.
Also returning for 2014 will be Alton Towers Resort’s signature maze, Terror of the Towers. First making an appearance in 2002, Terror of the Towers has become a staple of the annual Halloween festivities. In addition, the living dead will once again rise as the Zombies Scare Zone completes this year’s line-up of scare attractions.
Guests are able to purchase a combi ticket for entry into The Sanctuary and Terror of the Towers for an additional charge of £14.00 on-the-day or £12.00 when booked online, whilst both scare zones will be free to guests. Despite its popularity at last year’s Scarefest, the Freedom Pass, which allowed unlimited access to all scare attractions throughout the event, will not be available this year.
There will also be plenty of family friendly fun and scares to enjoy as Franklyn, Skelvin, Patch and Phil take over Fountain Square with their Freaky Fun Zone. Little ones can learn how to spook at Franklyn and Phil’s Ghoul School or discover an array of insects in Patch’s Brilliant Bug Barn before enjoying his Trick or Treat Party!
For those feeling particularly brave, the resort is offering ‘The Ultimate Sleepover’. Situated within the historic haunted Towers Ruins, guests will stay in dormitory style accommodation with the scares lasting until 3am in the morning. Including a buffet style dinner, hot breakfast, park entry and dedicated parking, this all new experience replaces the award winning Scarerooms which were previously offered at the Alton Towers Hotel.
The frights won’t just be confined to the theme park with the Halloween spirit continuing at the resort hotels. A selection of family entertainment will be available each evening with Halloween themed shows to keep everyone entertained.
Construction for 2014’s event is already well underway with the towers ruins now closed to enable the mazes to be built, and the Scarefest Hearse has taken up its traditional position outside the Resort Box Office at the end of Towers Street."

The reason why these turns are banked mostly is that this ride is not about airtime in the slightest. It is all about the speed and velocity, meaning it will be like a millennium force but b&m'd with lots of big very fast turns and 2 or 3 airtime hills knowing from their hyper coasters from will be 0g floater. This isn't an airtime machine because they have that in their B&M hyper Intimidator so there is no need to be making another airtimey ride of the same model next to it, so its more of a twister coaster then anything like MFI don't like it.
My personal opinion is that the layout looks really stupid, all the hills in the first half are banked to the side meaning there is no proper airtime over them, and when you do get the proper airtime hills it seems to travel really slowly over them. I really don't like the layout, and I know I haven't ridden it so I can't comment(even though it's not out yet!), I really prefer the design and feeling of a ride like shambhala(which is amazing!) where you have traditional camelback hills and a couple of special elements.
Would be nice to see how it turns out I just don't like the layout at all. I would imagine it is very smooth however as most B&M coasters are very smooth with a nice ride experience. I am unlikely to ride it in the near future so I can only imagine what it is like to ride it.

So this makes another B&M for 2015! they are very in demand at the moment, with 2 dive coasters, a launched wing rider, 2 flyers and 1 giga. The future is good for B&M

Better view of the logo with the wild mouse style coaster in the background.
-
I can't remember where I heard this but I'm sure I heard that what ever this coaster was it was being shipped from Italy, I didn't even know Italy had a company that did wild mouses unless it is a 2nd one that is being sold...
EDIT: There is a company called L&T systems that do generic wild mouses that can be a seen in Gulliver's parks and pakal in miribilandia so who knows

This is the picture in question! Draw your attention to the wild mouse style coaster in the background of this new logo they have

am I the only one here who thinks Speed is insanely rough and boring (apart from the airtime hill)?
Look forward to seeing what this investment will be!
Whilst its your opinion and I respect that I think your probably in a minority here with Speed.
But yeah I agree with you on the investment

According to some local press Oakwood is set to announce a £2mil investment today... nothing yet so we shall see...

From facebook Theme park logic:
Breaking news: Company behind Fantasy Island goes into administration
The company which owns an amusement park in Skegness has gone into administration.
Conduit Skegness Limited, and associated group trading companies, own Fantasy Island - which includes theme park rides, Europe’s largest permanent seven-day market and 340 static caravan pitches.
The business will continue to operate as usual while the administrators review the company’s financial position, and no job losses are expected among permanent staff.
The seasonal temporary expansion of the payroll during the summer holiday season will also continue as usual.
Paul Clark and Ben Wiles, Managing Directors of Duff & Phelps, have been appointed as administrators.
“Fantasy Island is an important leisure destination that attracts up to 40,000 visitors a day.
As we head into one of the busiest months of the year it is very much business as usual and customers should be assured that this will not impact their experience, whether they are visiting the rides, market or one of the shows.
"It’s also important for employees to know that their jobs will not be impacted during these busy summer months and we look forward to working with the team.”
Home to jubilee Odyssey and Millennium coaster, hopefully the administrators can do good for the park as it seems a very popular one and one where if closed down would be quite back for skegness tbh
What are your thoughts?

Someone posted on here that it was 3 people at a time, so I just assumed it was 3 at a time.
There are hour slots, so I think 10 people in one hour isn't worth it, you aren't going to get very long at all.
I thought it was said it was an hour and a half? Plus bodyboards are usually 2 at a time so the queue is pretty minimal anyway (don't know if thorpe only does it 1 at a time though). I can see why it would put you off but it seems from what I have seen to be doing very well for its self, I'm sure if there was enough interest they would bring it back next year, Maybe if people say they want it to be in a smaller groups for more goes for next year thorpe might act on that, although is it a case of a separate company operating it at the park or has thorpe fully hired it so they can do what they want with grouping and pricing schemes?
-
People only thought it was with three people because that's what someone put on here, not because they think they know how to operate one! 10 does seem excesive to me, sounds like a lot of waiting about between goes, but without having done it I suppose I wouldn't know.
On the body boards 2 can go on at a time meaning that wait time is pretty much cut in half. Unless thorpe are only letting on 1 at a time for bodyboards I wouldn't know.

Cedar Point
in International Attractions
Posted
They don't. 9 time out of 10 they move them to a different park, like Iron Wolf at SFGAm to Apocalypse at SFA and so on and so forth. Its either getting the conversion or being moved to another cedar fair park.
