  1. Its all of them, the arena, fungle, nemesis inferno shop and calypso bbq and all of ranger county will be made way for a massive dark ride exceeding £20million. According to south parks, set to open in 2016.

They say "roller coaster style", but then these guys are the creators of the washing machine element so taking their word for it that, that whole area is going to be removed now when there hasn't been anything in terms of planning applications submitted yet is a little stupid at the moment because this isn't like fright nights where they released the information like a week before this is over a year and a half away, so I just think they are pulling stuff out of their bums at the moment.

  2. Just announced Liseberg are getting a Zierer Starshape like Danter's Air and Bling!

    Liseberg presents Mechanica

Liseberg continues to invest in exceptional ride experiences. In spring 2015 the amusement park will open Mechanica, a powerful, high-speed attraction that spins riders through 360 degrees – 30 metres up in the air.

Mechanica is an attraction that will challenge even the most daring. The ride can best be described as flying at high speed in a pendulum motion while gradually spinning round on two axes through 360 degrees.

Mechanica will be five metres taller than SpinRock, will swing 60 degrees more than Uppswinget and its seats will be free to rotate through 360 degrees, like the old TopSpin ride. Put simply, Mechanica has taken the best of all the scariest rides and added special toppings of everything.

“We know that many of our guests want more attractions of this type. The attraction we have chosen is also one of the very best available in its class,” says Andreas Andersen, CEO of Liseberg.

Mechanica will undoubtedly be one of the most impressive attractions in the park in terms of ride experience and concept.

“We want to offer our guests something that goes beyond the 90 seconds of the ride itself,” explains Andreas Andersen. “Through a combination of unique design, carefully selected music and inspiration draw from eighteenth-century Gothenburg we are aiming to create an all-round experience. It will be a strange machine that mixes contemporary and historical elements, like something straight out of a fairy tale.”

Its wide range of attractions makes Liseberg one of the best amusement parks in Europe for thrill seekers. The selection includes some of the top roller coasters in Europe, including Helix, Lisebergbanan and Balder. The arrival of Mechanica will bring the number of attractions up to 42.

“There are not many parks in Europe that can compete with Liseberg in terms of ride experiences. Mechanica will push us even further up the rankings in the high-adrenalin ride category. But while we have these really challenging attractions we also have Rabbit Land for families with young children. Liseberg has something for everyone,” says Andreas Andersen.

Liseberg – and Mechanica – will open for the summer season on 25 April 2015.

This honestly has a better release trailer then Helix did imo!

  3. Jamie that was the original plans circulating for oblivion, surprised you mistook that for eftelings real thing!!

Supposedly it will have an immelmann and either a vertical loop or zero g, as well as a helix. So its definitely more interesting then oblivion...

  4. My ride count for yesterday...

    1x Nemesis Inferno

1x Carousel (first time on it probably last time as well...)

    1x Rocky Express

    1x Loggers Leap

    1x Slammer

    1x X

    1x Studio 13

    1x My Bloody Valentine

    1x Cabin In The Woods

    1x Colossus

    1x Saw: The Ride

    1x Swarm

    1x Stealth

13 rides in 8hrs and 30 mins ain't so bad

(I was there from 10:30 till 21:05 so I suppose that ain't too bad although if I didn't queue for mazes that I thought were a bit boring after doing them I probably could have gotten so much more in, which in hindsight I wish I did tbh although the atmosphere was great as I was with friends but year fright nights was a bit of a letdown, rides at night?? Definately not so, Stealth in the dark was amazing, so was Saw as the fire effect went off on the drop, I love night rides they make a ride so much better but I think Stealth takes it as my number coaster there now I just love the thing!

  5. Sooooo yeah yesterday was ridiculous for mazes, weren't too bad apart from the bloody long stealth break down. I think what most annoyed me is that I was in the mbv queue for 2 and a half hour because they were just piling fasttrack in, which was annoying, citw for fasttrack was the worst though, the FT queueline was coming out of the start of the FT queueline, luckily we were one of the first on for S13 although it didn't amount to much for me. My highlights were riding Colossus, Saw, Swarm and Stealth in the dark as the rides I had on them were epic, I don't rate Saw at all highly but I had fun on it at night plus the fire effect went off so that made the drop special, overall it was a good day but the maze fasttrack which completely sold out by 6:50pm when I checked was a lot left to be desired, but I had a good day that was the main thing.

Also I only got on the 3 mazes I named as Blair was on 3 hours when it opened and Saw seemed to break down a lot so didn't risk it. I still think cabin is the best with S13 my least favourite I feel.

  6. Today has been horrendous for breakdowns samurai all day same with rumba, saw, swarm and stealth down virtually at the same time at one point, and many e stops on the mazes so far, MBV for me was just better then S13 but I still think it's a bit rubbish hopefully CITW will perk me up lol

  7. Swarm was closed for about 10/20 mins but is back open now.

Tbh james with these mazes, I have done most before and I know people should judge before doing it but I feel like if I don't enjoy it the first time I'm less inclined to do it a second its like last year I did mbv once and I didn't like it and didn't do it again whereas with cite I really enjoyed it and did it 2 more times so, I know I really should base of first impressions but when its busy its all I can do...

  8. Just came off of studio 13, didn't like it to be honest the scares were really lazy, strobes are just annoying and the final scene is disappointing seeming as chainsaw guy didn't chase us, he just stood a corner doing barely anything and I just walked out which was a bit dull... 4/10 for me really well themed but the reasons above stopped it from getting any higher for me.

  9. Honest questions has anyone experienced PA's Horror mazes as I will be there in 2 weeks with DGC, just wondering if any of you highly rated them?

Also when I get there what happens with rides. Do they adopt a staggered opening system or do all of the rides open at 10am. Plus we are getting the Unlimited Express pass, usually how busy are the queues for these lanes. One final question, which ride is best to try first, in any of your experieces??

    Much appreciated :P

  10. To call it horrid when it isn't even finished yet and is currently just a slab of concrete is just stupid these are the concept art designs for it

Very ominous, very intimidating to a member of the GP only seeing a train at the bottom on the tower shooting out at nearly 80 mph, its meant to be mysterious which is why it works well, plus any building themed to old age germanesque architecture is on to a win as it is quite pretty plus by the looks of it, it will be an old stony brown type brick facade which I think looks great.

Also 1 more thing if it looks awful, compare it to something similar like Mystery Castle in Phantasialand

    38559.jpg

Its basically a smaller version of what Karnan's building ( this is still over 215ft) will be and I think it looks fantastic and fits well in to a german gothic theme. I think it will look great! :)

  11. Agreed, I have seen celebs in parks before, where they have wanted to be low key, which is fine, I just dont like it when we get the few, whom have a god complex that need to push infront of everyone to make the gp's day a little more miserable, although the celebs I have seen whom have been low key have been fine, I saw Former radio 1 DJ Sara cox once there, she was there with her family and just queued like everyone else, which was good :)

  12. Yeah I went in July with a former member of TPM, and on to separate occasions, this American rapper called A$AP Rocky

This dude...(with Skrillex in this photo)

First time we saw him was in the disabled exit for Samurai in which he took up 2 rows with him and his entourage, luckily that time it didn't affect me because we were already on the ride, but he then affected us by going on Stealth as I was queueing for the 2nd row for the 2nd to last train of the day, which I needed to get so I didn't get back to the station to late (I'd already waited like 20 minutes at this point) and I was just about to get on he turned up just pushed into the front 4 rows without warning with thorpe park security, safe to say I was P***ed off big time luckily there was a space on that train at the back which I was aloud to go on, but it meant separating with my friends early and I get to say goodbye properly, which was annoying (although that was probably my fault seeing I probably could tell going on would make me a little late) but the point stands that Its bloody annoying when you get these celebs push in just because they are famous, so annoying, never heard that many grumbles from the queue line ever! Way to make your self popular with the people lol.
