  1. 1/10. I've been on Battle Galleons before twice in a row and I'm not insane.

    Samurai

It's pretty much completely dismantled!? I have never seen it like that, interesting. I'd rather it just went, but I have a feeling Thorpe are going to keep it. I don't think the reason it's open late is due to balancing issues, as I've seen it with 2 people on before. At Fright Nights later on it's dead and there is no balancing issues.
  3. Yeah when I went on it last week all the effects were on, first time I've seen effects work on it since it's open, makes it a little better. Boats had ridiculous amount of water in them though and my feat got soaked.
  4. I thought that, but the queue leads to the other side of the building? Hmmmm
  5. Profits drop by a massive 84%!! - http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/aug/06/seaworld-profits-plunge-customers?CMP=fb_gu Hopefully having Orlandos tallest, longest and fastest coaster next year could help them out.

    Samurai

After being closed for over a month now, Samurai is finally getting some work done to it, well a lot of work done to it! All the pods have been taken off. (Credit to themeparkguide for the photos)
  7. I doubt Colossus' highest throughput is over 1200...
  8. In previous years though they have only had 2 trains available as they did winter maintenance throughout the year on the other, so they would only have to strip down 1 train during winter. This year however with the February opening I know they were planning on having all 3 trains available this year so either 2 trains are currently broken, or they didn't stick to that plan and one of the trains are being stripped down.

    Logger's Leap

    Loggers re-opened late afternoon yesterday

    Fright Nights 2015

I also noticed when I went last year there was no actors in the queue lines. In 2013 there were a few actors in both Cabin in the woods queue and my bloody valentines queue which were great. I didn't know there were roaming actors last year? I only saw roaming actors when Cabin in the woods was closed for a few hours, so all the actors from there were out and about. I'd love to see more roaming actors and actors in the queue lines
  11. If you watch this video between 40 seconds and 65 seconds, you can see 3 water effects which I've never seen. It's a shame, such simple little water effects could actually make the ride so much more interesting. There was also this effect which I only ever saw once. I can understand why this was removed, I got more wet than I would on Tidal Wave. I remember seeing this from Inferno and wondering what it was
  12. Has anyone seen the sprinklers on at the end of the ride this season? Or has it lost the only part of the ride which gets you wet?

    Vortex

I saw that as well, however I saw Flying fish as well! Samurai, Vortex and Rush I can see working very well. Quantum and Flying Fish I find very strange additions as they aren't rides people tend to ride on there own, as they are less thrilling. Also, they rarely get a queue anyway. Detonator is a good idea as there tends to be empty seats quite a lot, but unless theres 2 hosts I can see it slowing down operations as it isn't batched while the ride is in operation. It'll be interesting to see how it works on Detty anyway.

    Logger's Leap

It was only open for an hour that last day it was open. I assume they are just doing maintenance to it/ waiting for a part. I doubt it will be much longer.

    Vortex

Great idea! Always loads of empty seats on Vortex. I could also see it working well on Rush and hopefully they can bring it back on Stealth as well. Hopefully next years ride will see a single rider queue as well. I don't understand how this will slow down loading? Single riders will be in the batching area with everyone else?
  16. Not that you ever hear it anyway
  17. Wasn't keen on hearing Dettys theme music had been changed back to the 2007 theme, but after hearing it at the park I actually really liked it. It was being played really loud (I could even hear it well from the top of Infernos volcano) which created a really good atmosphere around it. The speakers have also been repositioned slightly, they are facing upwards and you can now hear the countdown pretty well from the top which is nice.
  18. Saw was running well on Wednesday! Seemed a lot smoother.

    X

Anyone know if X has been on 3 trains recently? On Wednesday it was back on 2 meaning it had one of the highest queues on park, and reached 50 minutes. Shame to see it on reduced capacity most of this season.
  20. It was having problems all day when I was there on Wednesday on 2 trains, and from looking at Twitter I think it's been on 1 train since.
  21. An article to show how quiet the place is at the moment - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3180987/Heading-Oblivion-Alton-Towers-quiet-thrillseekers-barely-queue-popular-rollercoasters-park-shuts-early-hardly-s-there.html
  22. Concrete has been poured in ... fact
  23. So Slammer closes the day I go, but opens the day after :(

  24. I normally find the staff really friendly, but they just weren't Yeah that is strange, it makes such a difference without the music though especially on Quantum. The Swarm did have long periods of downtime throughout the day so all the effects were probably off as they never got reset after it went down?
