Coasters are usually £6. Flat rides are ranged from £4-£8, depending on what it is. Things like snow jet and WW express will be £4/£5 however those like gladiator and XXL will be priced towards the £8 end. Ovbiously, with it being preview night, there were no prices set in however I will try to find out exact prices for you. Funhouses are also priced at £4.
-
I wouldn't actually ride it though, the normal starflyer freaked me out enough. Just thought it looked like an interesting ride
-
Would it be possible to have this instead of the starflyer next year?

Storm surge has an okay concept, it is just executed very poorly. The actual slide is fun but everything else about it has been awfully done. 1. Location; looks absolutely dreadful. 2. Sound; creaks like hell. 3. Appearance of ride; once again looks dreadful. 4. Boats; boats look nice but get your feet completely soaked. 5. Throughput; worst throughput ever and the lift hill is SO SLOW. General execution; it's been awfully executed, makes a lot of sound and looks dreadful. If I walk underneath it, it will dump a pile of water on me and ruin my day. The rides concept of getting you wet is non-existent as well and the only thing which gets wet is you feet(apart from if you are on your way to X and walk under it).

It's not my video but I feel obligated to share it, it shows an amazing atmosphere and proves how great chessington's Halloween event really was! http://youtube.com/watch?v=iHtvjTN8HWw So upset now to have missed it this year but will definitely be visiting next year, hope the attention to detail over the park remains like this. The park looks far superior to both fright nights and scarefest which I both visited this year.

Hoping on the £6 side of things :3 want to get as many rides in as possible on a very restricted budget!
-
I wonder if we will see another price increase this year, last year everything went up by a pound or so. Hoping this year the prices don't go up once again, as don't want to be paying £8-10 instead of £6-8 for the rides. £8 is expensive enough for me thank you!

Pretty much all built up for this year now, and getting prepared for an evening opening this Thursday! XXL is the main new ride debuting this year, along with river rapids coming along for the first time and a new funhouse. I have to say winter wonderland gets bigger and better every year. Despite the prices rising massively, it is the best christmas event to happen in the UK for a long time and is undoubtably the best funfair to take place in England. With many rides and attractions coming from germany, belgium and the Netherlands, this event is pretty spectacular. The event also features a massive ice rink and several stalls, full size bars and markets. All we need now is some full sized rollercoaster like Olympia looping! Despite the price and popularity, if anyone hasn't been I highly reccomend it as I will also be experiencing it this year. It has a magical atmosphere and there is so much entertainment to see and do there! Definitely worth a visit if you can afford it! This is what XXL looks like if anyone is interested, absolute beast'

I will probably have to give the roller-skating a go, I simply love doing it The rollerdisco prices and ice rink prices aren't too overpriced either as they include skates, cheaper than winter wonderlands ice skating however it all depends on how big the rinks are. I'd imagine this event as a whole will be quite busy, but a lot emptier in comparison to winter wonderland. Winter wonderland is receiving a lot of hype at the moment compared to this event which I luckily stumbled upon! Looking forward to visiting the two events now

Hi all, It looks like London's Victoria park will be occupying a new event this winter, presumably in competition to winter wonderland! The event is called winterville and will be taking place from 2nd December to 1st January, taking place from 10am- late every day. The event will feature a fairground, winter market, music and clubs along with various shows and attractions to experience as well as traditional ice skating. The company has rumoured a set of traditional fairground rides as well as various rides from Europe debuting for the first time in the UK! More information can be found here: http://winterville.co.uk If anyone could find out anything about the ride line up I would be very happy, it's fairly close to hyde park and is an obvious rival, so I will hopefully be making a visit to both events

Just wanted to say a map has been released but I am unable to upload it so maybe someone else could? Looks like a better line up this year however they don't seem to be able to expand the area in order to reduce the amount of congestion on the pathways in peak times. This year sees the returning of all four rollercoasters along with the new addition of the river rapids. Many of the flat rides from last year are returning such as Air, Power tower 2, Gladiator, Rock rage, snow jet and winter wonderland express. However what appears to be the main new addition this year according to the map is XXL, hoping this is KMG XXL as that model looks like an insane ride. Looks like it is going to be a good year for winter wonderland, I imagine it will be very popular like previous years.

Time for a funfair trip report! Date: Sunday 9th October 2014. So I took a trip down to Milton Keynes today to visit the speculator funfair organised by Keith Emmett located in Campbell park. I must say the funfair did look spectacular from the road with all it's lighting packages. The new starflyer debuting this year from Wallis looked particularly good with its multi-coloured lights as well. Ridecount: Extreme x1 Vertigo x1 Sky high(starflyer) x1 Toboggan coaster x1 Superbowl x1 Energy storm x1 Rock rage x2 All rides were priced at £1.50 as it was the final cheap night, except for vertigo which was priced at £2.50. New this year to the fair were the toboggan coaster and the starflyer, as we lost king frog jump and smile from last years line up. Just some points to follow up here: -The starflyer was VERY scary and felt very unsafe, won't be trying another one very soon especially as the one at winter wonderland is over double the height of the one I experienced. -Got a very short cycle on energy storm, was only the two of us on it though so I understand that. -Superbowl was surprisingly busy early on in the evening, before the fair started to get busy later on when rock rage and vertigo had long queues. -First ride on a toboggan coaster, very claustrophobic and very rough. Was a train on a helter skelter as described by another group -Extreme was brilliant as always, fast and intense, awaiting that hangtime still though. -Vertigo was very good, priced at £2.50 per person though but was worth it. Very cold up at the top though. And finally, the star of the show. ROCK RAGE!! First ride of the night was very long but we didn't flip, four revolutions over the top though. On the second ride, we asked shannon(the operating woman) if we could flip a lot and she unfortunately told us it was down to the computer however she would try using the controls to play it to our advantage! Absolutely brilliant and insane on the second ride with a couple of insanely intense flips followed by two revolutions over the top. Amazing ride however it's entirely luck whether you flip or not which is a shame! I have photos if anyone wants them, hope you enjoyed reading this

I believe it may be the ice mountain EC. Unsure but it has a blue track like icemountain did so its likely that it is as its owned by mellors who own the starflyer and that also turned up.
-
I have a feeling it will do dreadfully, it's way too cold to get soaked at this time of year and most people would rather have a hot chocolate than be getting splashed on a water ride. Also does this mean that the euro coaster won't be returning? As I fear that the rapids will gain a dramatic loss in revenue compared to euro coaster. Starflyer has also pulled on as well as gladiator mentioned above.
-
Pull on has started, I highly reccomend you keep up with this page if you want to see the full line up: https://www.facebook.com/hydeparkwinterwonderlandunofficial Nothing is 100% confirmed until it has pulled on unfortunately, however I can tell you the Wild Maus XXL and Manning's tornado are now on site along with the circus and a couple of smaller rides/attractions. I can tell you what to expect though however; -Power tower 2. -Air. -Gladiator turbine and Euro Coaster. -Manning's showtime, deep impact and thriller rollercoaster(as well as new ride!) -Mellors Starlfyer and Ice Mountain rollercoaster. That's all I know that definitely should be going unless problems happen. I would expect the regulars however again this year; WW express, snow jet, avalanche waltzer, Dodgems, fun houses etc. There are going to be some new attractions this year however nothing is confirmed so I suggest you stay tuned to the above or to this page, I will post if I find anything out On another note of returning rides, rock rage and over the top look extremely unlikely to return this year.

It's only been closed for three. Saturday, Sunday and Monday. That is a relatively short period of downtime if we consider samurai has been down for weeks, stealth was down for a few days last weekend and Colossus has been down for a couple of days.Three days is not a lot of time when it comes to reliability ratings at thorpe park.
-
They have used 3 every time I have visited. One by the exit gate and two in the operating booths. If a fourth staff member was acquired, the batching and balancing could be done whilst it is being operated. It would also mean the operators don't have the task themselves of doing this. I'm just glad slammer is running though, and the other rides(Dodgems, zodiac, vortex etc.) have had much worse operations lately so slammer seems like it has good operations at the moment
-
Unfortunately not The park will probably open its gates early though like on scarefest, we got to the entrance at 9:45 and the gates were already open when the park was opening at 10.
-
This has been brought up before, I think thorpe park should do a full two weeks like scarefest meaning there are off peak days on the first week before half term. This would also allow the park to incorporate theming as there wouldn't be non-fright nights days in between.
-
Was taking at least 5minutes per cycle including loading/unloading today. Was awfully slow and I believe the members working on it were new as they had such slow operations. Today I can't imagine it making more than about 250people per hour. It was so slow and bear in mind 5 cars were closed off and they were not even all being filled, at points they were sending 5 or 6 empty for some reason(just bad batching I suppose). Normally with 24 the throughput would be just about bearable but today it was just dreadful.
-
I do like these Dodgems, you get a long ride time and they are great fun. One thing I noticed today was that the throughput must be absolutely dreadful. We must have waited at least 30 for what was an advertised 10minute queue. Didn't help that the operators were having a chat so the man wouldn't batch it until everyone had left the ride, meaning the throughput was decreased dramatically. Does anyone know the throughput of these Dodgems?

Thorpe park 2nd November: Time in park: 9:15am-7pm. Ride count: Vortex x1 Rush x2 X x1 Dodgems x1 Stealth x2 Nemesis x1 Swarm x2 Loggers leap x1 Rumba rapids x1 Banana boat x1 Teacups x1 Rocky road x1 Quantum x1 Zodiac x1 Saw x1 Maze count: Blair witch project x1. Total: 19. Notes: -Annual pass holders were let in at 9:15, due to the weather being horrible in the morning. Luckily this was the only shower the whole day and I went in for a hot chocolate until around 10:20 until my friends turned up. -Park was insanely busy from the time it opened, the coasters were above 100minutes from around 12pm onwards and didn't drop until the time I left. -Got to Blair witch at 4:30 and was first through at 5:30, when we asked the lady at the entrance, she said it was at least 3hours when we were about to go in. The queueline was full and the queue was extending all the way round to the loggers leap entrance the long way(past rocky express entrance etc). -The mazes were particularly busy all day, I didn't particularly see but the one time I looked the mazes were all above 90. I did see saw alive later and it was out of the entrance so must have been above 2hours. -A LOT of queueline smokers. -My run on Blair witch was really good, top quality walkthrough. -Didn't see any roaming actors, the park need to invest in more. -Swarm, saw and stealth in the dark were all great. -Park lacked atmosphere, needs more theming etc. -Saw swarm testing in the afternoon, presumed they were adding the second train so we rode soon afterwards(the cattlepen of doom was open!). -Most effects on park were broken, fire and water on swarm, axes and the air on saw, mist on nemesis and stealth and tidal wave area. Think most of the effects which operate during the year were off or broken. -Slammer, Colossus, samurai and flying fish were closed all day. If fright nights returns, it needs a revamp. The event proved very popular this year and the park needs more roaming actors and park wide theming. New mazes would be nice as well as I'm sure people will start to get bored of the current ones very soon. I like Blair witch though, that can stay if the partnership with LIONSGATE remains.

"Due to popular demand, Sunday 2 November is strictly prebook only. There are limited tickets still available, but you must prebook online to guarantee your entry. Standard Passholders can book their £10 event ticket, or Premium Passholders can book their free entry through the link below - don't miss out." Looks like they think tomorrow is going to hit capacity. Not great considering it was only predicted for 9000. With Colossus, samurai and slammer down as well I think there are going to be LONG queues just like there has been for all of half term. Shame, as I was looking forward to a relatively quiet day.
-
I wonder what's wrong with slammer. I hope they get it up and running for tomorrow
-
Thorpe have a massive lack of engineers. However this is due to not enough applications for the position. At the moment, the only reason slammer is closed, is because all of the engineers have are occupied with Colossus and there aren't enough to do the checks on slammer. Thorpe do need more engineers, this is the reason due to one train openings, rides taking a long time to be fixed and late openings of rides like slammer.
