  1. Thanks both for your help, originally I was considering a gopro however they were very expensive to buy and I wanted a camera which was of a multi purpose so I could take photos of different places and not just filming. I was considering a chest strap however I didn't want to look stupid by wearing something on my chest. I thought something like the gopro wrist strap would be good however there didn't to be a secure option with a universal tripod slot. I think a chest strap may be a better option however £40 is a bit on the hefty side: I found this one for £20 with a universal slot. How does it look, does anyone think it's secure enough. The last thing I want is my camera flying off when I'm upside down 80feet in the air! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intova-Suitable-cameras-digital-standard/dp/B009GH0UBM
  2. It's not as such.. It was meant to be a topic for my youtube channel however people started advertising so hey. Why not? Your channel is really cool TPF, I've subbed to it. Obviously you have only made one video so far but it's looking good and I look forward for what's to come! As for my channel, I am at fright nights soon and then I am off to a fair soon. Whilst I cannot garuntee any footage from thorpe as I will be time limited, expect some more footage coming from the funfair in a week or so time
  3. Hi all, As many of you know I do have a YouTube channel which contains many offride perspectives of both theme park and funfair rides. I am looking to create a wider range of videos including some onride videos of different funfair rides(and possibly theme park rides if the park allows). Currently, to film my videos, I will record by holding the camera without a wrist strap etc. What I am looking for is some sort of secure wrist strap so the camera will definitely not fall off. I am looking to take it onto the most extreme rides and improve my YouTube channel by having unique videos which others do not have. I will be off to my next visit VERY SHORTLY so would be appreciated if anyone could supply me with some sort of wrist or chest straps. These are needed ASAP as I will need to order my equipment for my next trip. My camera is a Samsung WB250F smart camera. My YouTube channel is Ridelover123 if anyone is interested! Please take a moment to view my videos and subscribe. Thank you.
  4. The majority of us school kids have an inset day on Monday. I would imagine it to be fairly busy, otherwise thorpe wouldn't have decided to add an extra event day in. I would expect coasters over 60mins and mazes over 90mins and you can be pleasantly suprised if things are less. Thorpe wouldn't have added it, unless they could make loads of money by adding an extra day. So expect it to be busy.
  5. Wow that's so cool! Thanks for the upload, I wish I could get down and ride this with all the lasers and music. Shame the event only lasts till Sunday and I'm at thorpe on Sunday Hope they bring back this feature next year though
  6. Neither, they are both awful.
  7. Sorry, it wasn't meant to come out rudely. Of course the actors put effort into what they're doing, otherwise the scare maze wouldn't exist in the first place, it would just be a walkthrough with no scares. It's just the mazes seem to decrease in quality as the event goes on, but it entirely depends on if you get a good or bad run and if the maze is busy or not. Sometimes, the quality of the acting and the overall experience is great and sometimes it is really poor. The actors are never consistent and that's why it feels like sometimes they are putting less effort in than other occasions. As a bit of an actor myself I know how it's a hard job and you have to stay in role, it is great to get praise when you are putting your all into what you are performing or doing. I may have worded my phrase wrong as I know it's a hard job and they are doing a great job, just the consistency of what they do varies massively. I hope that makes more sense.
  8. Last year I got the pre-show of billy which lasted a couple of minutes. However, this year the actor just told us to 'run as fast as we can' and pushed us through the door. Unsure how this was meant to link to saw in anyway possible... That's why I said 'storylines'.On preview night we got told all about how the director had made a series of movies which were all the previous mazes at thorpe park studios. We then got told about how studio 13 was the new maze being filmed at thorpe park and how we were the ones who were auditioning to be part of it. This was all before moving through to the reception and took about 2-3mins. However, on Saturday the 17th we walked straight through to the reception, before getting sent straight into the maze. No explaining of what was happening, it was just a very rushed experience to try and keep the 4hour queue to a minimum. Same with a MBV, last year when the queue was 0mins we got an explanation of how we were being chased by whoever and whatever. However, this year, the lady chucked us into the maze and told us to 'run as fast as we can' without any explanation at all. Thinking about it now, the lady in the saw alive preshow could have well be the same one as the one in the MBV preshow...
  9. Studio 13 was very understaffed in terms of actors on Saturday 17th. There was no girl who greets you at the maze door. There was only one chainsaw man, not two like on preview night. The maze seemed rushed and there were no actors in your path, we just walked through most of it being blinded by strobes with no scares. I loved it so much on the preview night, however from reading reviews and personal experience it seems like it has got so much worse. Wish the actors would actually put effort into it as all the mazes seem to have gone down in quality. Blair witch undoubtably has to be my favourite this year. Absolutely brilliant, love the use of space and there were long moments of tension before actually getting scared by actors. I would then say cabin follows second in my opinion, however it was more actors blocking my path than any real scaring. I love how you can spend as long as you want in there by looping round but way too crowded. Then I would put studio 13 and saw alive joint next with MBV in last. None of these mazes had high standards this year, yes I did get scared, however acting was poor and the mazes overall were far too rushed with no real concept and lack of scares. It's just my opinion but it feels like the quality of the mazes has gone down especially since preview night, the actors are no longer explaining the 'storylines' at the beginning and the mazes as a whole have become very rushed, due to long queues I would imagine.
  10. On preview night studio 13 was amazing, it WAS my favourite maze.Ever since it's been utter crap.
  11. It took me hours to figure out this joke, but when I did, I laughed... A lot.
  12. No, we asked the lady at the front who manages the fastrack and main queue and she said 3 hours. We presumed this meant including waiting for the maze to open so in reality a 2hour queue however waiting for the maze to open beforehand. The queue was actually overflowing the rails, it was all the way out of the rails and down to the Canada creek railway(past the loggers leap entrance). So we knew it would take a long time, we went back a little later and the lady said it was 90mins when it was a little shorter so that's why I presumed it was 3hours including the wait for it to open. I would like to be one of the first in as it's the only maze to open at a later time, meaning there is a massive rush of people to it. I would like to be ahead of the crowd as I don't fancy waiting over 2hours for each maze(might be turning up to my first maze at 2-2:30 and Blair witch at around 5-5:30). Thanks for your help, I'll check on the day, presume it opens at 6, and will wait depending on how long the queue is. It's the Sunday so it hopefully should be fairly empty by 9pm though however as tickets are sold out for every other day so far, I think that predicted figure of 9000 will be going up due to it being the only day left available. EDIT: it's actually dark now and it's only 5. So maybe it will open at 5 instead?
  13. Do you know what time it opens? Would like to get there 15-30mins before attraction opening as on Saturday 17th it was a 3hour wait at 6pm when the maze was only opening at 7pm!
  14. Just a seperate question to anyone who's visited this week. Does Blair witch continue to open at 7 or does it open at 6 like last year now that the clocks have gone back and it gets dark between 4-5pm? Many thanks, hoping for Blair witch to be open an extra hour to garuntee entry on Sunday as it was my favourite maze on preview night.
  15. Well as a matter of fact I have seen complaints on facebook and twitter saying that people had to queue up over an hour TO COMPLAIN at guest services... Certainly when I was there on Saturday 17th, there must have been a fair 300-400people waiting to complain about ridiculous queues because of reservenride. Just by using that information, it looks like a lot of people are complaining directly to guest services at the park.
  16. There's so many negative comments on facebook, I was scrolling through and stumbled across this, someone trying to defend the park, can't help saying I laughed a little Adam Copeland 'just a little message for ALL of you people moaning about TP on fright nights, it's the busiest peak time to attend thorpe park so it's actually your own fault that you've had a bad day so next time go off peak if you don't like queuing. Annual pass holders stop moaning about an extra £10 pm fright nights it clearly states in the small print that certain events are liable for additional charge taking into account you get in ANY merlin attraction for free ANYTIME!! (excluding certain events) I pay £700 per year going to thorpe park and I love it every time.'
  17. Hi all, With it being Halloween and all, a lot of the topics have turned to the scary theme. With things like mckamey manor being discussed as well as fright nights and other events, I thought I would bring up this TV show. It's called release the hounds and it's where British contestants take part in a series of challenges in order to collect keys which then unlock chests containing cash. At the end of the show, the person with the furthest head start against the hounds will take on the run and have to try and escape the dogs, who ovbiously attack you if they catch you. The show is about teamwork and working together however has a Halloween theme, meaning that all the challenges in it are horror-based and contestants are in for a scare. Ovbiously this is pretty scary to experience, not nearly as scary as something like mckamey manor however it's still pretty intense. The main question is, would you sign up with your friends and take it on?
  18. The Monday won't be as busy as this week, however it will be of a high demand as otherwise thorpe wouldn't have added the extra day in. They ovbiously plan for it to be fairly busy otherwise they wouldn't have added it as a fright nights date.
  19. I was looking at the facebook this morning and people were saying at around 10:30 that every single ride is closed. I don't understand how during summer they managed to get things open early but now everything seems to open late?
  20. It updates when the board updates at the park, I'm not saying it's entirely accurate, but it's a good indication of how packed the park is. Colossus-90, nemesis-100, swarm&saw-110, X-70, vortex&rush-60. No thanks.
  21. I take back what I said earlier, with samurai, flying fish, stealth, slammer and tidal wave all down at the moment queues are really out of hand. Not suprised that all the coasters are 100mins+, I'm really not sure what I would do if queues were that long I don't think I could manage.
  22. Thanks, I have an annual pass so will prebook online, just worried about my friends as think they were planning to 2-4-1 on the day.Looking at queue times though, it's not too bad yet? Does that just mean there's a hell of a load of prebookers?
