Why does the Tomb logo look like it has been designed by a teenager on cooltext.com or whatever that site used to be? Also why does it have Japanese/Chinese characters around the edge? Still...could be alright and at least they won't be forced to use the black container like the Krypt had to....and that stupid Gorilla head! And maybe they've sorted out the water leak problems in the marquee too...

To be fair, it would have been possible for them to cut off the 'points' of the lower fence to allow them to stack the other fence on top with ease and it looking less stupid.

New for 2016 - Park-Wide Improvements
Imagineer replied to MarkC's topic in Chessington World of Adventures
The last people that I knew who owned that skeleton were the Entertainment Department, so I guess Howl'o'ween attraction. -
Merlin policy is for security to call 999 because they have the most appropriate ways of remaining in contact. They can also easily coordinate entrance to the specific area of the park for the emergency services and co-ordinate the rest of the park.
-
The ordering system at Foodloop is great. Hope they have something similar at this one!
-
I doubt that'll last ... there used to be complaints about PtP's volume! Merlin have definitely invested a lot more in this show than PtP, perhaps the costumes have been purchase from somewhere sensible(?!) so that they could afford more on everything else?
-
There's footage of the whole show on Youtube. There's some pretty cool effects but not quite as generally entertaining. What're people's thoughts?

Entrance to Land of the Dragons from Explorer Gate is still confusing though!

The 'Definitely 100% Totally Going to Happen' London Resort
Imagineer replied to Liam T's topic in UK Attractions
Themed lands are called Adventure Isle, Land of Legends, Cartoon Circus, Starfleet Command, Action Square, Port Paramount, Entertainment City. A couple of those are quite obvious in terms of what might go there, but others not so much? -
Quite simply they don't want to go back. It's not worth it. Too many hours, too little pay!

It is a triggered effect, I know this because I was part of the team that set up the attraction in its original incarnation. I know the Ents team always suffered with change overs of staff. What with the department restructure in 2012/13 and then the departure of the Production Manager, Production TL and Operation Manager meant that pretty much everyone doing it this year was new. The music outside Hocus Pocus is controlled from the attraction itself. It could be that, in 'turning off' the original attraction they are unable to play the music. However it could have been done, but would have involved more work in the set up and then after to return it to its normal state.

Went to Chessington last night - quite a mistake. It was heaving! Did both walkthroughs though. Mystery of HPH was good, the highlight being the first scene/projection mapping. But the fact that there was no music outside the attraction meant a very boring hour + wait. The throughput is particularly bad, especially because of the disabled entrance being batched half and half. I don't know what was going on with Haunting in the Hollows, again there was no music in the queue and it looked a mess! Cables everywhere, with the tower looking particularly bad. In the first year the drapes cover the doors so you couldn't see the strobe - now you can see it all the way from the Graveyard. Also it meant that the 'children' entering was more of a surprise (because you couldn't see the second set of doors.) Ruins it for me. Also little details missing - like the howl of the Werewolves during the graveyard sequence. It's a shame.

Chessington Winter Trail - New For 2014
Imagineer replied to MarkC's topic in Chessington World of Adventures
They really should word it like "Entry to the park, purchased separately, is required for access to the grotto." Otherwise people might think that the grotto could be accessed without park entrance - I.e. that it is located in the hotel for example? -
'Twas red the first year. Perhaps the green just wasn't as visible? I know the performers always used to struggle with the red especially in Gloria who has all of the visibility of their own feet and about half a foot in front of that. But you're probably right it is more likely to be "because we've got it". Chessington never used to spend money on the Ents department even if it would have made all the difference. Every time Halloween rolls around I thank jebus I'm not doing those crazy hours still. It'll be weird not seeing the show but it was only a matter of time. 10 + performers is expensive. I wouldn't be surprised if whatever show happens next year has a much smaller cast.

When I was there the Stables were surrounded by Heras Panel fencing during the set up stages and once constructed they came down. I always argued for covering the barriers - I think it ruins the atmosphere at Thorpe and covering them is a fairly cheap and versatile solution (specific covers will only be usable for the life of the specific attraction).
-
I think the green netting, if done properly can cover a barrier quite well. Better than a barrier by itself anyway. I don't know the tape you're talking about but if it is on the floor of the stage it is probably for visual cues for the performers. Poor visibility + steps = danger.

Needs more cable ties.

That line has always been in the description. It was written before VAMPIRE: HitH had been made. The ex-Entertainment Manager didn't really know the space/how it would work and the blurb had to be given much earlier on. Later the choice came to mean the option to turn back during the first section.
-
Europa Park is definitely up there with my favourite parks. Everything just works so well - the queuing experience for me was lovely (as long as you're smart!), the food is good and reasonably priced and the place just looks great. I want to go back and stay in one of their on-site hotels!
-
I saw a job advert for Chessington that was looking for singers (who can dance) for a Market square show. Perhaps they'll do something on/around the compass?
-
The events section of the Chessington website confirms two walkthrough attractions, doesn't say new so probably expect the two from last year. It does say 2 new shows though - one to replace Big Bad Boo which would no longer work with the redesigned Market Square, but I'm not sure about the other one? I'm thinking perhaps on the Madagascar Stage, or Wild Factor? (Does Wild Factor still happen?)
-
Simply because the people who installed it obviously know how to install it, where all the props go, how the attraction is re-programmed, installation of technical equipment etc. When those people leave, that information leaves with them. I expect the attraction to return - but its implementation as pluk said will be difficult.
-
A very dedicated couple of guys made it...sadly not at the company any more, so who knows if it'll return?
-
Krypt didn't return for financial reasons. The poor season resulted in no roaming characters for the year...and cuts to the special events budgets. It was decided that it was better to have something refreshed and new, BFH being poor, rather than everything being 'the same' as before. The Krypt did have poor throughput, and was expensive; 'set up' by external company, hire of technical equipment, staff including about 4 hosts to operate the effects as well as the actual operation and the actors. Plus the moving of the black container (now destroyed and burried thank god!) cost about £10,000 every time.

It's the/a call centre and some finance people. That's the "billing address" for Chessington at least..
