Any thrill ride with the saw ip would have done the trick. Thats what I meant to get across.
-
A park where this sort of ride works. Thorpe should never have got saw as it is. The low throughput just isnt what the park needed. The woodie or even just another steel coaster would be far better, instead of the disappointment of the short, painful unreliable peice of junk we have now.
-
Is that a 3x2 seating arangement. If so that would certainly explain the singler rider queue.
-
The swarms system certiantly needs improvement. There are many ways to solve the problems of one side empty and the other full. Anyway if this dark ride is actor based then it will be terrible a few years later, or even on off peak. No ride should rely on actors, there too expensive to keep running and the overall satisfaction will vary so much between different rides. I do hope the actor rumors are false, I would have thought they had learnt from saw alive.

You have completly ignored the fact that people join queues based on there length. A new ride will draw a 2-3 hour queue as thats how long people are willing to wait. High capacity rides therefore have more people in the queue which takes up more space. Maverick low throughput small queue, millenium force high throughput large queue. Swarm high throughput large queue, storm surge low throughput small queue. A bag drop is stated on one of the plans where it states what the inside is like roughly. The swarm system is annoying, its the fact they still let the right side go empty as no one goes up the stairs.

High throughput rides need large queue lines as an hour queue has more people in it. If people will only wait 2 hours then a ride with 1000pph will be a smaller queue space than one with 1700pph. Looking at more depth in the plans that queue line is pretty big so if they have aimed for a 2:30hr queue then the throughput will be about average (1000-1200).
-
I would imagine the RnR queue would be what is labeled as the single rider queue. To not give it a full queue would just be stupid becuase then if they ever didnt want to run RnR they couldnt. Saying that, that queue line as it currently is can barley exceed 60minutes.

It would be very hard to come up with a practical soloution to the flooding rafts. The design they have makes it near impossible. Holes will always form. Its not really designed for the work it does and thus will devlop holes which allows water in. With no way for the water to come out, it just waits until someone tips it out. The ride has a terrible throughput which needs as many things as possible to speed it up, empting boats every cycle is slow and a waste of time. It is a water ride after all people do expect to get wet, so to solve a problem which isnt really important is just a watse of money. Saying all that I am no SS supporter, its a terrible ride which looks horrible. The sooner it goes the better but the fault of a small lake forming in the boats isnt the main ones I would consider.

Why hide a metal building when you have the mother of them all right behind it. It will be just the same as X, it doesnt subtract from the ride but it certiantly doesnt add to it. It would have been nice if they did it properly and hidden it but realistically we were never going to get that from merlin. My current concern isnt the outside but the lack of inside. After the preshow, bag room, control room there isnt much room left inside. So it will be intresting to see what the inside is like. Also what sort of dark ride needs a bag room? It must have some thrilling element otherwise thorpe would save the money, not employ the extra staff and just allow bags on the ride.

Even this fish would complain. Storm surge will die when the missiles fired form an alien world get here.

A 2015 small attraction is possible as it was outlined on the MTDP. However they have clearly ditched that plan and are now following a modified version. Hopefully they will get something but at this moment in time it doesn't seem to promising.

Its not a technical thing. I think its something to do with a bottomless pit because if I remember correctly it has a mirror at the bottom.
-
The problem is that it seems, so far, to have the same issues the smiler had and its mega cattle pen labyrinth. If merlin had any sense it would have tried to avoid the same mistake. You cant compare Thorpe's drainage to the smiler. The smiler has a 3 inch swimming pool, even 3 days after the last rain shower.
-
That is a bonus for this queueline, it has a roof so the swimming pool effect should be reduced.
-
I would like to think that we are not getting a shooter. Yes they can be good but I want to see something different. If we are given a shooter then that will still be good but I will still feel disappointed.
-
I more meant disappointing because I think that merlin could do better than another laser based ride. Tomb blaster and duel are good but I would much prefer something like spiderman.
-
Its hard to dig a hole when your on a man made island. You generally run into water problems. It will be a tracked ride of some kind, either like spiderman or a disappointment involving lasers.

Not those trees. They magically appeared. Although it is a scify show so I guess the science isn't really important. They needed to make up for a complete lack of physics with an interesting story. Unfortunately the tree episode had neither. I prefer the days of Russell where everything was the end of the world.
-
Colossus would be nice to get some overhaul however at the moment its not vital. The rumba rapids and the log flume are in need of some very urgent update.
-
Making the rapids and teh tea cups more angry birds land would be good or even a whole new theme. They need some desperate work, the peeling paint falling down theme doesn't quite appeal to me.
-
At least the moon episode got some things right, like the moon does exist. There was nothing correct about the tree one.
-
well we will be waiting a long time for that dark ride. Glad to see thorpe are planning for the future.

I didnt really like flatline, I much preferd into the dalek. It may have been a remake of the christoper elcelstone episode dalek but it was still good. It seemed to return more to the russle era where almost everyone dies which is far more intresting than moffats everyone lives. I often find that nothing really happens in his episodes which makes it a bit boring. Also the worst episode without a doubt of all time was that tree episode. All the science was wrong and the story was just awful.
-
Sarcastic, I thought I would exaggerate what a lot of people seem to do when slammer breaks down for 5 minutes.

A quick update all the rides are closed. I hope this doesnt mean they are getting rid of the entire park.
