Yeah a lack of water. If there is no water getting to the park I would assume that means there is a lack of water.
-
Cedar point has been closed for the last 2 days because of a lack of water. Any other theme parks done this before or is this another cedar point world record.
-
I am still yet to understand what the big attraction about hybrids are. If your having a wood coaster act as steel then just make it out of steel and avoid the creation of this ugly mess.
-
Thorpe would not get a Doctor Who themed ride. I doubt any merlin park would as that is the BBC's flagship. If you messed it up in the smallest detail then both BBC and merlin would come off looking bad. Personally I dont think its a risk that they are willing to take.
-
They drain it when it rains. Too much water gets in the system and the water level rises. That means it flows into the surroundings and can prevent Nemesis from running as the clearance of the train and the water isn't big enough.
-
If the first way didnt work and yesterdays way didnt work what are they going to try next. Personally I think they should stick with yesterdays system and refine the ratios of the queues. If the fastrack system is rolled into the RnR then it should work better as its only split 2 ways and the RnR can factor in the amount of fastrack exactly.
-
Excessive hang time is very excessive. From the pov the ride doesnt really flow into the next element too well.
-
I'm just hoping that its not really successful and is introduced to the smiler.
-
The cars seem quite light and the voltage being used is quite high. So when the cars get bumped and move upwards instead of the current stopping it just jumps. I do believe that, that generates more heat and is leading to the new rubber burning. It should stop after the ride has settled in.
-
well they need to base it on the real queue and that is really hard to work out when the real queue is influenced by the reserve and ride queue. I guess what they have done it allocate a certain throughput to RnR and another set to the real queue. so if that amount of people don't turn up or the throughput changes then it will go wrong. On another note its spreading! They have a paper based system developing at cbeebies land.
-
or 1 person to scan your ticket where the fastrack people merge.
-
if the real queue is only 30 minutes then it sounds like it isn't really being tested as its meant to reduce queues on very busy days.. The problems will arise when the queues should be 90 minutes long. That is when we will see if this system actually works. However at the moment it does seem to be a working system which can eventually lead to people loosing their jobs as fastracks can be sold online. I'm quite sure that is the true aim. Cut jobs and on the system have a big fastrack sign to encourage sales.

Does it normally stall there?
-
So it stalled on the overbank turn? That is an odd place to stall.

Saw had no queues because it was left on full capacity as some of the main day queue was still there when summer night started. So that's where I stayed for the night. I didn't really mind as I had been to 2 of them before and was there all day but on the previous 2 the swarm always had a wait of about 15 minutes. Stealth always had a bit of a queue a X was always empty, even on that last night. Something which I did notice is that Storm Surge developed quite a problem of not enough riders. And if you got on you would be stuck on until they dispatched the next boats.
-
Yeah same, we waited about 30 minutes to get in, if we hadn't been there the whole day we probably would have been waiting longer. I know that some people towards the back of that queue were waiting way over an hour. With that many people whey should have just added more trains.
-
They charge because they "limit" the amount of tickets sold. No idea what this limit is but judging by the last summer night its about 10,000 people. Ok 10,000 may be an exaggeration but for what was meant to be queue less was more 20 minute waits. I would have complained if guest services were open.
-
Well not the high throughput ride I was hoping for but its a start. Its nice to see that Thorpe are optimistic of the weather this year. Is it going to be open on summer nights to join the non existent beach party atmosphere.
-
Hmm that is odd, although even at 7:30 last year on the last one it was very busy and a real let down. It took half an hour to collect the tickets (why on earth they had 2 windows open was just insanity) so we were in the park at 8 to find that stormsurge and saw were still working their way through the normal queue.
-
Admittedly they may now have it at a point where the system can work with out huge side effects but I imagine that fastrack satisfaction and sales will decrease. They may not care about some enthusiasts wanting to ride 1 ride over and over however I imagine they will care about a drop in fastrack sales.
-
I imagine that next year we will see the introduction of ERT. They have been gradually letting MAP holders in earlier and earlier. I imagine Vortex wont be running to 9pm like last year as that had somewhat of a negative effect on its performance. Hopefully some rides will remain open longer, I imagine if its a coaster then it would be the swarm, as it is on its own island so easy to track people and keep people away from where they shouldn't be.
-
^Ha, but seriously if they are playing the long game high throughput rides should be the way forward. Doesn't have to be a topspin but vortex is coming near the end of its life with in the next few years as is slammer so logically it would be wise to replace them with higher throughput rides if their main complaint is long queues.
-
Very true but at the moment all they are doing for me is turning me into an angry guest which was somewhat happy with the old system. I would say as a nation the British are very good with queuing and am quite sure that the queues can be solved in the conventional way instead of this new system which as you said Disney failed at. For example the silent disco which they run is always quite enjoyable and makes the wait time feel much less. I'm quite sure that you can source most complaints of long queue times from storm surge. That is always a massive queue which is definitely a let down. I imagine the next high source of complaints would be saw. If they are playing the long game then investing in some high through put rides would be the best way. I know its not everyone's tatse but the new topspins have a through put of 950 and would off a different type of attraction which Thorpe don't already have.

Because I don't queue an hour for the swarm I wait until its quite times when it drops to anywhere from walk on to 20 minutes. Reserve and ride will mean its at a constant queue time through out the day. THORPE PARK Official It is not compulsory, but priority will be given to those who have registered for Reserve N' Ride That sounds worrying to anyone in the normal queue. This system is going to need a lot of attention to get it to work correctly. Also I'm still failing to see where the queues are going, the only place they can go is towards other queues. However at least now you can wait for stealth while queuing virtually for swarm. I guess the system also allows you to queue for the swarm while waiting virtually for the swarm.
-
However I highly doubt fastrack, normal, reserve and ride, dissabilty work too well together where there is only 2 queuelines to start with.
