  1. Saw had no queues because it was left on full capacity as some of the main day queue was still there when summer night started. So that's where I stayed for the night. I didn't really mind as I had been to 2 of them before and was there all day but on the previous 2 the swarm always had a wait of about 15 minutes. Stealth always had a bit of a queue a X was always empty, even on that last night. Something which I did notice is that Storm Surge developed quite a problem of not enough riders. And if you got on you would be stuck on until they dispatched the next boats.
  2. Yeah same, we waited about 30 minutes to get in, if we hadn't been there the whole day we probably would have been waiting longer. I know that some people towards the back of that queue were waiting way over an hour. With that many people whey should have just added more trains.
  3. They charge because they "limit" the amount of tickets sold. No idea what this limit is but judging by the last summer night its about 10,000 people. Ok 10,000 may be an exaggeration but for what was meant to be queue less was more 20 minute waits. I would have complained if guest services were open.
  4. Well not the high throughput ride I was hoping for but its a start. Its nice to see that Thorpe are optimistic of the weather this year. Is it going to be open on summer nights to join the non existent beach party atmosphere.
  5. Hmm that is odd, although even at 7:30 last year on the last one it was very busy and a real let down. It took half an hour to collect the tickets (why on earth they had 2 windows open was just insanity) so we were in the park at 8 to find that stormsurge and saw were still working their way through the normal queue.
  6. Admittedly they may now have it at a point where the system can work with out huge side effects but I imagine that fastrack satisfaction and sales will decrease. They may not care about some enthusiasts wanting to ride 1 ride over and over however I imagine they will care about a drop in fastrack sales.
  7. I imagine that next year we will see the introduction of ERT. They have been gradually letting MAP holders in earlier and earlier. I imagine Vortex wont be running to 9pm like last year as that had somewhat of a negative effect on its performance. Hopefully some rides will remain open longer, I imagine if its a coaster then it would be the swarm, as it is on its own island so easy to track people and keep people away from where they shouldn't be.
  8. ^Ha, but seriously if they are playing the long game high throughput rides should be the way forward. Doesn't have to be a topspin but vortex is coming near the end of its life with in the next few years as is slammer so logically it would be wise to replace them with higher throughput rides if their main complaint is long queues.
  9. Very true but at the moment all they are doing for me is turning me into an angry guest which was somewhat happy with the old system. I would say as a nation the British are very good with queuing and am quite sure that the queues can be solved in the conventional way instead of this new system which as you said Disney failed at. For example the silent disco which they run is always quite enjoyable and makes the wait time feel much less. I'm quite sure that you can source most complaints of long queue times from storm surge. That is always a massive queue which is definitely a let down. I imagine the next high source of complaints would be saw. If they are playing the long game then investing in some high through put rides would be the best way. I know its not everyone's tatse but the new topspins have a through put of 950 and would off a different type of attraction which Thorpe don't already have.
  10. Because I don't queue an hour for the swarm I wait until its quite times when it drops to anywhere from walk on to 20 minutes. Reserve and ride will mean its at a constant queue time through out the day. THORPE PARK Official It is not compulsory, but priority will be given to those who have registered for Reserve N' Ride That sounds worrying to anyone in the normal queue. This system is going to need a lot of attention to get it to work correctly. Also I'm still failing to see where the queues are going, the only place they can go is towards other queues. However at least now you can wait for stealth while queuing virtually for swarm. I guess the system also allows you to queue for the swarm while waiting virtually for the swarm.
  11. However I highly doubt fastrack, normal, reserve and ride, dissabilty work too well together where there is only 2 queuelines to start with.
  12. Although it is depending on if it crashs again. They may have increased server capacity but will it be enough. There will be many more people there than monday so you never know it may be normal queueing for everyone.
  13. Their facebook acknowledges that problem but has no answers at all, apart from make all the rides on this system. That initself is scary and something I dont really want to think about. Other parks used similar systems in the past but no longer do. Surely that should be a warning sign to thorpe. They all failed for one reason or another and I doubt thorpe has managed to adress all of these.
  14. RnR has great potential to make it harder to do all the rides if its only virtual queuing, although if its a physical queue then what happens there. So you have the physical queue in the queueline, the fastrack people in the fastrack line so where do the RnR people go. Even by their tone I would be surprised if a physical queue existed. My bad looking at their comments on the post it seem to say there is physical and virtual. It seems to me that the virtual queue goes up the exit, and so anyone with disablities ia stuffed as there is no longer a queue for them.
  15. A pinch of salt is needed with every percentage given, ever. Management will see it as good but really it isn't. A large rise can be put down to people willing to spend more as consumer confidence is up. And they cant forget the 10% decrease in 2012.
  16. The 2nd train can move as on sunday we saw it roll out of the shed for a bit for it to return back to the shed.
  17. Even if they do pull it off it still prevents the way I want to go round the park. Even if I got a smartphone with perfect internet access it would still be annyoing. I play the system they have and will get 20 rides on very busy days. However this will force me to wait longer times as many more people will see when queues get shorter and all queues will be about the same waiting time.
  18. you can make a queueless park if you let about 500 people in. Something tells me Thorpe wont be doing that though with the exception of summer nights. Although saying that the last summer night still managed to get 15-20 minute queues.
  19. On other sites its just become a list of hate. So at least here we have 2 sides to an argument.
  20. Very true, although Thorpe lost a out a weeks worth of visitors around Easter because it was so dam cold. twice I went around easter to find, rush, Colossus and saw closed, one one occasion it was so cold they closed at 12 as nothing would work.
  21. There's lies, dam lies and statistics. Something I feel Thorpe park will turn to, to justify reserve and ride.
  22. clearly I'm failing to get my point across so I'm going to give up.
  23. I would say that the shift in marketing came late in the season, around mid august. So to have that huge change in people is a bit odd. Look at CWOA, they also did very little and they increased by 15%. However I feel we are going a bit off topic.
  24. swarm backwards and x were only minor, when you look at how the smiler increased AT gate figures by 4.2% I would say that what Thorpe did was next to nothing.
  25. It was more said as a joke, although them doing nothing last year did increase gate figures by 11.1%
