  1. Is it yellow and does it keep saying "No prob, Bob"? That's it then ladies and gentlemen, WC16 is going to be a Bob the Builder experience.
  2. Or it's reverse psychology? I.e. a person will think long (hour plus) queues are normal, so won't be inclined to complain about a 3 hour wait during the summer. What were the queues like this time last year?
  3. Was the carousel really as hurl inducing as it looked?
  4. I'm not going to disagree with you, let me do some more research.
  5. Unless they've confirmed it's a .BBC IP I wouldn't hold out much hope it is going to be one since the BBC is ploughing millions into Paramount Park. There you go now, I'm usually wrong so Whivians can thank me next year.
  6. Why split hairs? Have one of each.
  7. Awe spoil my fun why don't you, I was thinking, Indy 500 the ride, 0-220mph in a shade over 8 seconds, 2.5 mile track done in a around 40 seconds, do 4 laps like the real qualifying run.... now that's something to put hairs on your chest, or kill you. Now I'll go Google helix and blue fire, because the only helix I know of is the syfy show...
  8. Thanks, it's a shame they can't or won't run a Rita type coaster around the perimeter of the park, that would be amazing.
  9. We are not the target audience for them, primary school age kids are, all the local schools have been given 50% off vouchers for entry and hotel stay for kids to take home and badger their parents to use, and nearly all have trips planned for between now and end of the School year. The Secondary Schools have a similar deal with Thorpe Park, and all the Infant schools have the same deal with Legoland, most primary schools have deals with both, my son has had trips to Legoland and Chessie in the last 3 years, funny though he went to Thorpe first when asked by us where he wanted to go, since Lego and Chessie were boring. That's what you call a captive audience, and that's why entry has increased, there has been a steady increase of children born in Surrey for the last 10 years, and it's not expected to decrease anytime soon. Oh and believe me, a 8-10 year old can be very persuading, especially when the only alternative is to let the kids play minecraft all day since there's nothing else to do round here that's affordable (believe it or not, the vast majority of people living within Chessie's catchment area, are not well off).
  10. Is there some reason why rides are generally pretty short?
  11. Is vampire running without the ticket system now?
  12. Probably that one then, sorry.
  13. OK you're right I was wrong, I never remembered that seat but now you've posted a photo I do remember thinking it strange one having two belts, the bum part doesn't look any bigger though, so are you sure that's a large persons seat, or just a seat for bigger chested people? Thinking about it I don't remember adjusting the belts on inferno before either, but I have on some of the rides because the previous occupant was a kid and I couldn't get the belt done up.
  14. The seats we used on the same day felt the same size on the front and the back of the same train, so no, I was not wrong, some of you decided I was wrong becuase you disagreed, which is a different thing all together. The lady posted above that a ride operator said it was incorrect that there were bigger seats on the back too, does that make them both wrong as well? Similarly, if a person tries to adjust the length of a belt and can't because they're doing it wrong, that doesn't mean that the belts are a fixed length, it means they not adjusting them properly.
  15. I beg to differ because every time we've been on them rides I've had to tighten the strap up for my son, and last time I went on inferno, had to loosen off the belt as the seat had been strapped shut the previous run. Every ride I've been on a Thorpe this year (that has over the shoulder restaints) had push and loop adjustable straps on them.
  16. No they're the same, back row is generally reserved for disabled guests, so the rumour has probably stemmed from that, someone putting 2+2 together and coming up with 6. Sounds a lot like the staff forgot the belt length is adjustable.

  18. H&S rules are very much more relaxed in The Netherlands.
  19. Knowing local authorities like I do (I worked for one for many years), this type of project is guaranteed to get approval because of where it's planned, it'll only when it up and running that they'll start running into issues with planning. Only downside is it's almost guaranteed to kill Dreamland.
  20. The minimum wage is the same throughout the Country, what you're talking about is the London Living Wage, a voluntary scheme setup by Bumbling Boris. The key word here is voluntary, only a small fraction of companies actually pay it.
  21. Nah that's boring. OK, is Europa owned by Merlin? I know that may seem a silly question but it's a genuine one, I don't know which parks in Europe are Merlin owned and which aren't.
  22. Yup, it's slightly ironic that the vast majority of people who get offended aren't even black nowadays. Any of you with an evil streak that have younger siblings or family under 6 or so, point to Niger on a map and ask them to pronounce it, sit back and wait form the **** to hit the fan. Like most words it's only offensive depending on the context of it's use, the word fat can be deeply offensive to some people, but you don't see supermarkerts using an alternative on their packaging.
  23. The flotation made them nearly a billion, they only floated something like 25% of the company, now even taking into account 20% of that billion being sucked up by the filfy vulchers in the City, it should tell you enough of why they floated - in one word, greed.
