Ian-S got a reaction from Pete_A in Merlin VIP Annual Pass
As normal a minority give the majority a bad name, kudos to you for your common sense approach, I too saw VIP people queuing at the exit gate when there was no queue, but we kind of got the last laugh in that case because the ride operator didn't see them and set the ride going, so they had to wait for the next go, when if they'd just walked around to the proper entrance, they'd have got on with us lol.

He did act like an idiot but he did also show the flaw in the disabled wristband system and I don't think it's changed.
We always find we have to cut them off, they've got in the habit of doing them up so they just spin round your wrist and then pressing down on the end of the sticky bit but I'm not surprised you can get them off. Lego and Chessington sometimes write the date on it, depends who meets you though.

They probably dare not admit to being VIP....
Or perhaps consider an internet forum discussion on the merits of VIP is beneath them....

I think his point is when there is no main queue, why go up the fast track?
Like you said elsewhere, if there's no queue, there's no point using the VIP system as you risk loosing out, I saw it twice, once on Stealth and one on Zodiac, not casting any aspersions about you, but some of the VIP crowd seem a little short in the common sense department, which can sometimes bugger it up for people like you who have it.

ROFL what you've described is a little familiar, I wondered up and the chain wasn't across, one of the ride ops just waved me and a few others through, while some people in the fast track queue looked a little annoyed...

Each ride has its own rules, on the whole it's fastrack at Thorpe but last weekend was different from normal so hosts at the ride may have said use the exit.

Ian-S got a reaction from Inferno in 'I'm a Celebrity' Attraction - 2015
@Thorpelover we asked the guy in the inferno shop and he said the photo place was being relocated due to the celeb construction, should be open by the proper opening.

Thanks, we saw it from the top of Colossus so ran over and was well disapointed it wasn't running, that and the fish are the only rides my wife will go on.

We got there at 9.45 and couldn't believe the queue, eventually got into the park at 10.30 wondering what the heck we'd let ourselves in for, but walked right onto Inferno without a queue, moderate queues for others.
It was busy until lunch but then a lot of people must have gone home cos I walked right onto Stealth (even though everybody was queuing for the front seats, don't get the pull myself) and we double run the swarm, literally nobody queueing so the guy just said go back on if you want lol.
Every big ride was running two cars by the afternoon aside from Colossus, I got my usual g-induced headache after running the swarm for the umptenth time so we gave up and came home, my son loved it, his first real day at a theme park, so that's all that matters in my eyes.
All in a good day, the only downer was the queue to get in, they were doing bag checks and it seemed none of the new passes were scanning at the entry stalls, plus it seemed a lot of people simply didn't know what they were doing and by the time they got to the scan point, were then having to dig out their tickets and passes further backing things up.
I did have to laugh at the women in front of us in the queue, who demanded one of the staff escort her to the entrance as she was a Merlin Premium Pass Holder and she deserved better than to have to queue, she was politely told everybody in the queue was pass holders and quickly shut up lol.
Guy behind me in a queue claimed he worked for legoland and said tidal wave would be out of service for a long time as it needed a new pump which the park couldn't get.

This is what annoys me at times - the park regularly do these little extra things like stay open a bit longer, and yet instead of them getting praise for it, they get attacked when they don't do it.
Ride queues close at 4 this weekend. Anything past that is a bonus.
Thorpe doesn't open officially until March 12th. Any opening before that is a bonus.

So really, go expect everything to be closed and you should have a pleasant surprise.
