  1. It gives out a fortune and each fortune allows 20% off in the Ghost Train Shop (one per person obviously)!
  2. "DON'T FALL FOR IT" featuring a support structure very similar to TH13TEEN's vertical drop, and we know Intamin are involved? Could this be hinting at a vertical drop?
  3. Id suspect it's to do with raising and lowering the vehicles as James says, which could be more evidence supporting how you will be raise and lowered out of the shell of the 'suspended' train. I believe that during the periscope in febuary it was confirmed the actual vehicle won't be fast moving at all.
  4. It is confirmed each train will hold 60, with 3 rumoured ride vehicles. If this is the case you could have 4 batches of 60 in the attraction at once, from this it can be assumed it will have a throughput of approximately 1000pph give or take. Slightly concerning if you ask me... What I'm interested in is the fact we have a around 10 different groups of people working on this attraction, Intamin, Simworx, Merlin, Derren, IMAscore, Scruffy Dog, HTC, Figment Productions, Seven Lamb and one other. Very impressive line up - hopefully it all works together other wise this might be a disaster, also I don't know about you, but I dread to think what will happen if it has a major tech issue with the ride system with at least 3 companies working on the system. Could this mean having all the companies having to oversee the attraction?
  5. I respect that, but I'm saying to how people have already written off the ride as a disappointment based on one thing, I'm not saying it's absolutely everybody however in my short time in this forum I've noticed a lot of negativity toward this development, more so than other forums. To CharlieN, I agree it's okay to moan however is it really necessary to repeat the same things? No, not really. In terms of Disney and Merlin I agree it's very different - but you must remember that most of their attractions aren't plonked right in the middle of a park ahaha. All I'm saying is let's let the ride get finished before we completely write it off. I'm not saying this is the majority by any means as I do agree it could be a little less prominent by X (it's very tall) however it's not got to do anything by complaining on here, instead we could be trying to figure out practical and cost effective ways to conceal the building, and avoid slamming it before it's finished. I hope that clears some issues up.
  6. It would have cost more than they were willing to spend (I'm not standing up for Merlin, more so how people are criticising the attraction with even ridding it), not only this but I'd much prefer one section was fully themed with a red box out the back instead of having the entire building themed and looking a lot less themed overall. Also has no one taken into account Derren is an illusionist? They don't look like they are part of one another when looking straight on and so it makes the attraction seem much smaller than it actually is - so the ride will have a 'tardis effect'. If the building looked big it wouldn't have this effect. Honestly, I don't think that X will last much longer and so the building will like be blocked off when X closes - but even so I think it's a bit silly to complain about this when it's really only a minor detail. Critiquing them once or twice is one thing, the repeative up bringing of it is another.
  7. Am I the only one feeling like some are being really quite unnecessarily pedantic about the ride building? Yes, it may stand out when you're standing right next to it (shocker), but like many dark rides and attractions you aren't supposed to be searching for the ride building - you're supposed to be trying to enjoy the atmosphere and immersion of the attraction that is themed. Yes, there may be a red building in your line of vision but at that the point you aren't in the attraction, you're in the park - so you don't expect to not see the attractions show building, especially when it's right in the centre of a theme park. It seems some people are never happy, a U.K. Park spending between 30&40 million pounds on an attraction yet people still act as if seeing a portion of the show building ruins the entire attraction and it's thematic elements. I am personally not going to judge the attraction based on the fact I can see a red building next to another red building, as from the portion that is themed we can see that it is incredibly well detailed. People need to stop being so silly and be grateful with what you have, not complain about what you haven't.
  8. They never specified - just they were shooting footage for the attraction, I would doubt that they'd shoot a trailer that early on, as things may have changed (minimally yes) between then and now.
  9. The filming is very likely to be for the TV adverts. The ride is opening in under a month (woo!) and you've got to think of all the work that will be done to the footage within the next few weeks. I also expect the ad will air from the start of May, unlike Alton Towers who aired the Galactica ad about a week after the ride had opened. You can find the tweet here - https://twitter.com/ashthecameraman/status/717115281219391488
  10. I believe it's been confirmed that it will be a time slot booking. So you will book a specific time slot to try the attraction, this is so that the queues don't get crazy and also means that the park can operate normally.
  11. I see my brief message to Thorpe Park has arisen! For those who were wondering I sent this message to Thorpe Park on the 19th of March. There was what seemed to be a lot of confusion with if there was one or not as 4 days later (23rd of March) they changed their minds and told me there will in fact be a preview day. Not too well organised if you ask me... Here is my full conversation with the resort -
  12. A lot of the staff who work at the park are enthusiasts themselves, I feel a lot of people seem to forget this factor, and so they're probably going to be following the attraction as close as us, so if anything I feel that the staff will be appreciative of people taking photos. In terms of people taking images, it acts as information for us and promotion for the park, so I doubt they'll have any issues with it! Haha
  13. Hello all, long time reader and first time posting - so be nice! The audio is really quite intimidating, that paired with the scale of the building alone makes this attraction very menacing and oddly nerve racking. I really am pleased with the quality that has been pulled through the entirety of this project, at least from what we've seen. In terms of will there be soft opening, I very much doubt it. THORPE PARK have confirmed themselves that the "Annual Pass Rehersal Day" is being used as a way to test the everything is working ready for the media preview on the 5th. Not only this but personally I can't really think of an attraction from Merlin having soft openings, and if they do it's normally very rare. Galactica at Alton Towers purely only had a soft opening due to them overestimating the time needed to get it ready, however I feel that as this is an entirely new attraction it will require a huge amount of testing. If the ride were to have any form of soft opening I would expect to see only one on the 5th, as this will also mean that those paying to try the attraction first on the MAP preview day wont feel conned out of money because they could have driven up on X date when it had soft opened. Anyway, there just my thoughts on the soft opening idea!
