  1. We have confirmation. " After careful consideration we’re moving the opening date for Derren Brown’s Ghost Train. This attraction is a completely new invention and we are making final tweaks to the remaining elements to get things absolutely perfect. We want you guys to have the full mind-blowing experience from the very first time you ride! We will post the new opening date here as soon as we can, so check in with our social channels for updates. Please know that this decision was not taken lightly as we know some of you have booked tickets to ride in anticipation of the 6 May opening date, and the last thing we want to do is disappoint you. If your ticket falls on a date before ride opening then please e-mail customer.services@thorpe-park.co.uk and our team will help you out."
  2. Maybe the site team haven't gotten around to it just yet, as it seems that only today it's been decided judging by the timing of things.
  3. Do you happen to have a photo of the sign missing? EDIT: Unfortunately this has now been added to the extended kids go free stay page, more or less confirming the attraction will not be opening. "The perfect introduction to THORPE Park Resort for your thrill-seeking novices, Kids Go FREE with all THORPE Breaks until 13th May! Dont miss this opportunity to experience the family-friendly rides and attractions before Derren Brown's Ghost Train pulls into THORPE PARK Resort this summer!"
  4. This job listing by the park (https://merlin.taleo.net/careersection/4/jobdetail.ftl?job=THO0000L3) states "This is a role like no other, where you will be playing various scripted characters and ensure we are creating unique experiences to our visitors. This includes our I'm A CELEBRITY GET ME OUT OF HERE attraction and NEW for 2016 DERREN BROWN’S GHOST TRAIN. Additionally there are other exhilarating offerings and events which you will deliver as part of the Entertainments Strategy." and so yes, Live actors will be utilised within Derren Brown's Ghost Train. However they are currently not specified as scare actors, but more so scripted characters. This likely means that they are there to guide the story as opposed to scare you silly - I'm sure the ride will do that for you!
  5. It was like that last year
  6. If you are talking about what the queue indoors will be like, there is no queue indoors unfortunately. The people who worked on the theming (what we know of) were Scruffy Dog, Merlin and GRP Building Products (provided the faux brick cladding)
  7. Well it's understandable considering the scale of this project, and The Smiler had its issues - in fact I quite like it as you have those 2 months were the park is near to dead. In regards to if it will open on time, I am very optimistic seeing as it's been confirmed the attraction has been testing in some way.
  8. 16 days isn't really too early to be honest, and at the end of the day there's no such thing as bad publicity!
  9. If you class wearing a VR headset as being split up then you're in luck!
  10. I'd expect it to be overall thrilling rather than scary. There are likely going to have some very scary moments during the experience, however Derren has stated upon exiting you will have found the experience enjoyable and fun.
  11. I was thinking the same, it's extremely irritating. People will find out between now and midnight tonight, if you don't get an email them you've not got the tickets, simple. If anyone else gets them then it doesn't really effect you and so it's really not necessary to be constantly asking the same question!
  12. Goodness people, the moment that there's any doubt of something not opening on time and everything goes to chaos! At the end of the day, THORPE PARK are currently stating the attraction has not been delayed, and so that is all we have to go on. However it's very understandable people are worried, especially when some have paid £250 or more on a hotel stay just for the attraction. So instead of being rude, negative and ill mannered about people's opinions, let's focus on the positives and avoid causing any aggravation on the forum over something that isn't really worth it.
  13. The article below was shared on THORPE PARK's Facebook, it states that the demon is actually an animatronic as opposed to a person in a suit! Amazing! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3545498/Is-terrifying-prank-Disturbing-moment-Derren-Brown-unleashes-grotesque-demon-unsuspecting-Thorpe-Park-employees.html
  14. I believe the girl cleaning the bin is an actor at THORPE PARK, and it's likely they were staged - still cool seeing the demon in action!
  15. I think it's only natural people are worried, especially when people have paid £150 plus to stay over. So it's understandable that some are quite worried about the change. I'm personally not too worried as I don't live far from the Resort and I'd prefer the attraction to be finished to the best quality it can be. However, I can definitely see why those who are concerned would feel that way.
  16. These British train services, what are you gonna do... In all seriousness the sign is visible from the start of the video as well, it wouldn't take much to re-film that one scene or post the video without it. On the other hand, The Smiler was also supposedly opening on time until the day before, when it was finally announced it wouldn't be. I hope Merlin wouldn't do this again, however their history with dealing with delayed rides hasn't been the best...
  17. To be honest we can't be 100% sure when this was filmed, and so those saying that the inside looks bare need to remember and that it probably won't look like that now! Haha. I'm sure they wouldn't leave it that bare, considering the detail in all the other theming in and around the attraction, but if they do I'm sure it won't be noticeable.
  18. Well 4D effects are expected to be untalised, I'd highly doubt they'd not include them if they are attempting to truely immerse you within the attraction, especially when they are really pushing the idea you won't know what is real and was is not.
  19. Does this mean effects within the trains outside can now begin to be tested? Let's hope so!
  20. Thrill Nation have posted these to Facebook -
  21. That's odd, mine showed up at 10:10. Unfortunately it seems that the issue was unexpected and so I'm not going to fault them for it. They are trying to help and it would seem a lot of people had this issue as its a prize draw with 4000 tickets, imagine how many have been entered into it - I don't expect anything from the resort as I had nothing before, however I see what You mean, oh well - life goes on all the same.
  22. No, there was still a window where you could sign up all the same but then you would find the sold out message. However a fair while after 10AM the place where you could put your details was removed and replaced with a sold out message. If you saw nothing but a sold out message upon looking at the page then you will not have been entered. On the other hand if you saw the section to enter your details and once you had you then saw a sold out message - you will have been entered.
  23. If you put in all your details and the promo code then you will have been entered. If when you reached the page all if said was "Sold Out" then you would not have been entered. I'm sure that the email will come soon as I am also waiting on mine.
  24. Only some? Well that's a bit sneaky eh, ahaha.
