I'd be inclined to say this was a group that experienced the ride on the 5th, seeing as they'd probably already planned to come to the park for that day? The park had announced this was the reason for the delay, so I would expect that's why they said it wasn't ready at that point.
-
I'd suggest to drop this subject maybe, to avoid spoilers? Of course people will discuss what they'd like however personally, I'd see it as in everyone's best interest to avoid spoilers about the attraction...
-
On the other hand, you could look at the fact the train is suspended 3 meters above the ground and the mirrors surrounding the base are 8 meters tall according to this person, I'm no maths expert but that would cover the train... At the end of the day, it's all speculation until proved true. Either way it will end with them looking like and idiot or getting into a TONNE of trouble, so it's a loose loose situation for them anyway.
-
Hmm, it's not too difficult to find all the companies is all I'm thinking. I wouldn't look into it too much, if it does turn out to be correct (which lets face it, it won't) I suppose he will be finding himself in some heavy legal trouble!
-
What stops him from searching the design companies involved and finding out the same name and number you had? The person wouldn't put their number online if they were part of the design team because Merlin would be able to instantly take legal action.
-
So they have looked at images of the train and saw the mirrors, then made up an excuse after it's been confirmed the delay was due to illusions in the VR not working as expected and topped it off with saying there is a maze after reading there is involvement with actors (yet Derren has opposed this heavily). Someone is looking for attention me thinks...

The queue line sign now reads "DEPARTS IN Unavalible". Likely to be along the lines of "DEPARTS IN 60 MINUTES". The photo area is now ready to go with all screens stating "Scan Your Ticket View Your Photo". Bin have been added to the queue, the shop doors are closed (the ones that riders will exit into the shop through) and work seems to be complete on the exterior. We are very close now, with staff training happening as I type this I can see it being Friday, if not bank holiday weekend!
-
I would assume that the attractions exterior is now complete, as the queue line has now had bins added to it - something that wouldn't happen unless the queue/exterior was at least 95% complete.

Just in case people are still believing this - Nothing that wasn't expected.
-
Something else to note is that the description pretty much describes the visuals seen in the advert. The ghostly 'hologram' of the girl and you clearly see the 'old red Victorian' train hanging. Funnily enough nothing is mentioned about the headsets, interior or other segments of the ride.
-
There have been a tonne of "Oh it's opened!" posts in these Annual Pass Groups, so I'm reluctant to believe this!
-
I wouldn't assume that there was just a single carriage sitting outside, when looking at it from slammer they were extremely long and there is no way it would have fit in the building if it were a single train - on top of this there was likely one already inside (as they seemed to all be under one large cover), otherwise why bother leaving the door wide open?
-
They also posted this to Facebook however the caption was purely the faces (the ones showing different emotions) but in the form of emojis - so I very much doubt this has anything to do with the new attraction.
-
I believe it was confirmed the inside would look like a London Underground Tube Train previously, it is interesting to say the least

Which is exactly what I'm saying, why would I mention an access path if I didn't think it would be used for access for Ghost Train (which I had specified was for Ghost Train), please read my post properly - when saying 'the ride' I was referring to X seeing as I had mentioned about how many issue it had been having, I thought that would be obvious. Evidentially I was mistaken. in response to the above post - Saw was out of action due to needing a new part, Samurai was closed due to a different attraction made by the company having major issues meaning Samurai was closed while they checked that it wouldn't have similar issues and Colossus has had issues with its lift, however I'm unsure to why others have been having problems. Unfortunately it's just something that can happen with these rides, it just seemed to all fall around the same time this time around.
-
Based on the fact X has been having a tonne of issues recently I'd think it is related to the ride (referring to X for those who are seemingly confused), not to mention there is an access path for Ghost Train

I do like how people are already expecting the ride to have cuts in the future when they don't even know how far the conponents they're expecting to be cut will be used. Loving the positivity! In all seriousness Saw: Alive was becoming a nightmare to run and if they had it continually open it would loose its appeal for FRIGHT NIGHTS. That's the only area I can remember actors being cut. The actors are still used in I'm A Celebrity as its essential to the experience which I would expect would be the same with the actors inside the attraction. Derren has said the attraction won't feature scares as seen in horror mazes and so I'd be willing to bet they will be used in a similar way to IAC where they guide you through - this is backed up by the job listing stating they will be used in a similar fashion. Sometimes I doubt if people (certainly not everyone) even want this attraction to succeed, as all I keep seeing is constant bouts of negativity toward it, and it's future. Wait until you've been on it to pass judgement - otherwise you are just firing shots in the dark.

Throw seats may have been removed due to wheelchair access, or on the other hand there may be 60 seats overall, but only 58 or these can be used by the public with actors in the remaining two (we know this will be actor lead like I'm A Celebrity) and so it was changed to avoid confusion? Who knows, I guess with will have to find out in the next 10 or so days!

You could register your interest via Facebook messaging and email (like I did). It's only those who registered early on at the moment as they only have part of the order. Those further on the list will either receive emails if these trains aren't claimed or more come in. Patience is a virtue, wait and you will be rewarded!

Something to note is next to the queue line shop, there is one of the all day refill rinse stations which is new in a queue line. I quite like this idea as this thing will rack up inane queues, and the refill offer is becoming more popular each season!

Who said they were making figures up? I certainly didn't. However I'm not going to start running around stating it as 100% accurate because nothing has officially been confirmed. People like different things, some like secrecy and some don't. People will generally like secrecy when it comes to dark rides so nothing is revealed, although some theories might be "insane" but isn't that what makes speculation fun and entertaining for the majority? This idea of creative exploration through ideas being shared between each other. In regards to TH13TEEN, people thought it was 'dreadful' due to the dark nature of the marketing as the 'secret' was actually seen in the trailer for the ride. Not only this, but you can still be secret about an attraction and market it as a family ride, eliminating the expectation of something incredibly thrilling and the idea that disappointment is brought on by secrecy. If you need anymore proof look at Nemesis and Oblivion for reference on a positive impact of secrecy, and THE SWARM for a negative impact due to lack of secrecy.

Although it's interesting, newspapers often just go off figures seen elsewhere and so personally this doesn't really make me concerned about the budget. Let's not foget newspapers have also reported the attraction is a show and Galactica got stuck upside down for hours! At the end of the day the budget doesn't really matter as much of the ride is amazing - and so far just looking at it front on I can personally say it ticks that box in terms of how it looks.

To put this NDA nonsense to bed, firstly the staff member didn't confirm anything that we didn't already know about the attraction. We knew that the attraction would be more psychological than physical (essentially the entire idea behind the attraction as confirmed by Derren), anyone with half a brain would be expecting the attraction to be testing at this point and furthermore I'd personally be shocked if this attraction is anything less that an spectacular when taking those involved into consideration. So no, the staff member would not be breaching their NDA nor have any need to lie as the information shared was simply repeating information we already have been given. I hope this clears this up for anyone who was confused.

I was referring to the fact that construction is actually due to start properly very soon it's all quite exciting!

Surprised this hasn't came up yet. The Thorpe Park Hotel is planned to begin construction within the next few months ready to open by 2018. The building is planned to be finished by Autumn 2017 and decorated until spring/summer 2018. As said, upon entering the hotel guests will see various exotic creatures as well as have different scents in the air, creating a truly immersive atmosphere. Guests will travel to and from the hotel via a large boat that will bring large batches of people into the park, presumably for early ride access. The hotel includes 250 rooms, a bar, a restaurant and various other facilities such as a health club and conference rooms. You can see some more information and plans here - http://www.southparks.co.uk/features/thorpe-park-resort-hotel/#1460729924136-9365385a-6513
