  1. Yeah apologies, with the tents it’s the optics of doing a maze inside a tent. However we could see a facade. Flooring is very useful for scares, I assume it will make quite a loud noise when stamped on
  2. They’ve posted this image in the Passholder group. It is hard to get a gist of the size of it but I suppose with lots of narrow corridors could end up quite big
  3. I’d like to compare the size of it to other Thorpe Park mazes such as Trailers and Survival Games. It just doesn’t look that big. I might be wrong but this looks the same size as the old picnic cover tent from 2021. I hope they stick to a theme which that they can theme well, this will be the first maze in a four years that they’ve built but will have to take down again (and even then the previous mazes were shipping containers which stay intact.) I don’t know if the quality is actually going to be there and I want them to stray away from futuristic which means they can keep everything plain 😂 A tent like this looks really low budget too for a multi million pound company.
  4. What’s the quality like of a maze in a tent?
  5. Even that wording is strange, three bone chilling indoor mazes including a terrifying new maze. almost sounds like a fourth when there isn’t
  6. Must be strange wording, however I do miss the days of 2020. They really had to push the boat out and be creative with the attractions and also create genuinely good scare zones. we need more zones like the crows was last year. Stuff with scares, not interaction. Birthday bash and amity was all about the interaction. I want it to be creepy and scary not sarcy.
  7. There’s no gory mazes any more, I don’t think there will be. I think the new maze will be a shipping container maze where the new picnic area is or near tacotaria express. ‬ ‪It can be built off site and put into place with little to do on location. It also provides an indoor maze without the cost of a building ‬
  8. I wouldn’t worry, I think over the next few years with new management as there always is. The “no themed areas” stance will change.
  9. The unlimited pass is good value if you compare it to the terrifying trio bundles as it’s about 3 of them. Did I buy it 3 times last year? No, it handy to have the opportunity if you really want to go and do the mazes over and over again. I wouldn’t ever do the mazes more than once each year. The variety in the mazes isn’t there, there’s only 3 mazes. IMO doing each maze 3 times would start to get boring after that. I also don’t think I’d go enough, I live 50 mins away and love fright nights. I’d go once every weekend and I don’t think I’d be going enough for it. It’s also for 3pm-6pm, the pass which you do pay a lot of money for, you can’t even use past 6pm. Start fright nights in September and I can see real value in it, but it’s the same price as an annual pass .
  10. Shame the projector and screen in the dome don’t get used either. During COVID, the use of the big projector as you exit the dome into the park was quite cool and handy. Shame they don’t use it now. To be fair the whole upstairs of the dome needs a rejig and update. It’s such a large space, they could get so much use out of it
  11. Survival games was a weird one last year, a lot of the hype from the maze was from two/three things. 1) Thorpe stating it was the largest investment, now we know largest isn’t always best (creak freak wins) 2) The fact it was hands on and portrayed to be more aggressive. (Being 6ft 3 meant that it was more of a tug and me walking myself backwards) it also was not hands on at all other than the first part 3) Multi Route, you could kinda tell where you were by looking at the ceiling. But most rooms were dark and empty and lacking actors. So it didn’t match the hype of a multi route maze. Thorpe have a very difficult situation now, four returning attractions at least. Crows, Deaths doors, Trailers and Survival games. I’d say 2/3 of them need work or changing completely and working with a new theme and concept. They also would be good as tamer additions, if they had bigger, intense mazes. These attractions would be good with another 3 scare mazes to do as would provide variety. Which we aren’t getting, Fright Nights used to be maze after maze as there was alot of choice especially as far back as 2019.
  12. Deaths Doors being back up two months early is rather strange. There is the argument of it being a bad thing, it’s a small park and already areas are closed off until the end of the season. This doesn’t matter too much as it’s only a cut through, very invasive to the area tho. The scare zone was weak last year, if you say it’s good. You either know the actors or can really involve yourself with the actors. Personally, I like to experience things but not necessarily get involved. The concept was good, but not scary at all. It must be the worst one for an actor, sit behind a door all night get people repeatedly banging on your door constantly and hope they are still there once they’ve knocked. I’ve seen a lot of production staff walking around Thorpe Park which is a good thing if they are given support and a budget. Should mean higher quality events and these people should know the park and events a lot more as they hopefully should be permanent staff. Where is a new maze going to go? I can’t see them building another building to house a maze. Back in 2021, Neil (then general manager) now divisional director said that indoor mazes were the way they wanted to go. I have a feeling tho, it maybe a shipping container maze back to the likes of the walking dead mazes. There isn’t just the space for an indoor one.
  13. He was part of deaths doors. As part of carnival they have a card which shows a bear and called it Mr Clappy. I don’t know if the bears are related or what?
  14. It was like that last year with trailers during carnival. It was always quiet, not a consistent flow of people, not advertised at all unless you want to look into the event. Interaction was based on who you were, which I get the idea but it it’s going to vary so much get rid.
  15. Equally, it wouldn’t affect attendance. It’s hidden and out of the way, teenagers don’t want to watch the shows or buy the merch. I always walked past last year and it was always young kids watching the show, probably because of the lack of rides for them. A fortune teller whilst cool, adds no meaning to the event and no one would be inclined to actually go in.
  16. Oh no, not obvious to anyone but enthusiasts. but enthusiasts are the only ones which care and go to the carnival event 😂
  17. Kinda agree with above, They teased survival games and project exodus last year using the tarot cards. It would be cheesy to use the same method to tease something this year. Again, the tease is much more obvious as people expect this to carry info. as much as we saw the station design and plans. It’s very much like Thorpe to mess with people’s predictions and ideas and play along with the concept of it being Egyptian
  18. Isn’t there a rumor, that Burger King might be going. They didn’t get a refresh at that Burger King this year and Russ hinted at it
  19. It was the same price last year, It could be funny, like the actors were making you do stupid walks ect as you walked through as every scene is clowns. Again, I think it depends if the actors knew you, which they wouldn’t know me 😂 Trailers isnt scary, but it’s atmospheric and try’s to build tension. This maze doesn’t have tension or atmosphere because of its jovial tone and the nature of clowns. All the lighting is like you’re at a circus, red, yellow ect. It’s another attraction to do at thorpe at £6 or £4.80 it is quite a lot of money to add on to your day for what you get out of it. I’ll be happier spending £4.20 on Bruno Mars from doughnut time sitting by the lake (not sponsored)
  20. I don’t mind it personally, it needs the TLC and constant care. I just walk past it every visit It would be great at a Madame Tussaud’s attraction or similar. But it’s not repeatable. I wish it was because thorpe needs something to do away from the coasters
  21. Is this a new policy, if so it’s pretty good! I'm glad that they’ve decided to do this as it makes no sense to have to pay £32 for a child which can’t go on much at Thorpe. Cant see any new kids rides for a while anyway, so makes sense to implement this policy
  22. Quite smart that Thorpe Park are trying to cash in with the latest release of series 6
  23. His Thorpe ID says Partner then marketing. It’s definitely who you know as he got in via Kieran working for the park. Now he does promo posters/ photography. Then he’s “marketing” for project exodus, hence why he’s allowed. I think bringing guests in adds no value and creates a dodgy relationship. I don’t think he should be allowed to bring in whoever he wants If it wasn’t for who you know, then I wonder if everyone had an equal opportunity to get this role….. would they?
  24. I rode Inferno today, which was great considering that it’s still the 2023 season 😂 Three supports have had work done to them or at least had NDT work done. It’s clear at the top of the supports are painted white. It’s visible from the exit, opposite the shop by the netting
  25. I think they are more aware of guest experience than ever before. Might have slightly lowered that capacity. Even those queue times are horrible tho
