His Thorpe ID says Partner then marketing. It’s definitely who you know as he got in via Kieran working for the park. Now he does promo posters/ photography. Then he’s “marketing” for project exodus, hence why he’s allowed. I think bringing guests in adds no value and creates a dodgy relationship. I don’t think he should be allowed to bring in whoever he wants If it wasn’t for who you know, then I wonder if everyone had an equal opportunity to get this role….. would they?

I rode Inferno today, which was great considering that it’s still the 2023 season 😂 Three supports have had work done to them or at least had NDT work done. It’s clear at the top of the supports are painted white. It’s visible from the exit, opposite the shop by the netting
-
I think they are more aware of guest experience than ever before. Might have slightly lowered that capacity. Even those queue times are horrible tho
-
I’d even argue that the comments which are positive even have a Thorpe Bias. Either being passholders, or just fans of the park.

Think that might be best to be honest, the constant negative reviews on facebook must be gutting for everyone involved. Comment after comment saying don’t waste your time, its quite passionate about one attraction.

The apparent rumour, I know the source is : trust me bro but it’s been said a few times now. I don’t know how common something like this, but it’s not good. I saw a ladder at the turn around near the lift hill which goes against the wall. (I’m not sure what it would be called)

From what I saw to today on Samurai and Saw, the concrete and pins are in at the back of the site.

I’m of the opinion that they shouldn’t invest more time or money into the attraction or building now. They have an attraction which “works” it’s got a beginning, middle and end. Regardless of how clear the story is throughout, it manages to get there. Ride experience will be consistent and it’s an indoor ride to take the queues and to experience something different. They’ve put the bare minimum in the crypt room to keep the story going as simply the rooms too big with what money they wanted to put into it. The costumes are ok but I’m not a fan of the T.R written on the caps with chalk or similar. You start adding stuff to this attraction now, they are wasting money as it works as is and it’s got a life span. It simply not worth it to me.

Rumors of a track issue? I don’t know if anyone can confirm, but if it is. Won’t be open for ages
-
The Sunday before it closed, the finale actor was wearing the costume. So that wasn’t even a change during the 4 days

Years ago people would have said they wanted multi-route mazes back. Trailers is definitely coming back, it’s a weak maze. First year, it was good. Last year it was really tame. It doesn’t make sense the concept of it being a throwback, but it can still work. However I can’t see them changing things as it is its 3rd season. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was coming back in 2024, I’d be disappointed if it was still. Survival Games is definitely coming back (maybe a few tweaks). This maze is my issue with Thorpe Park investing into Fright Nights attractions when it could do with some hardware. The building has been stood unused since last November (yes, except scarecon) apparently their largest investment. I can see this staying around for years. This year would be the best year for a crows maze. They’ve opened the lake picnic area up, and theoretically the maze could go from Saw to Vortex. They’ve installed infrastructure such as power and lighting. It makes sense since Creek Freak is gone. I think I’ll miss it this season. The crows is in its third year and normally final. Also a replacement for Amity High

Has anyone been on it since reopening? I’ve seen one or two reviews and it seems they did some behind the scenes fixes to improve reliability of effects. I am curious to know what they did as 4 days is a long time for what they have supposedly done

Whilst waiting in the batching area to go in, it feels like the preshow takes ages and it does start to waffle on. If a story needs that much of a preshow is it good enough?
-
Thorpe replied to a post asking about what they are doing in ghost train, we already knew it but reaffirms that it won’t be anything game changing maybe something this closed season?

Just seen the Facebook ad comments…eek. It really doesn’t sit well with the general public. Lots of people want Derren brown back 😂 ”Build proper rides” They say there’s just a lot of shouting and nothing visually
-
I see a lot of negative comments about it. With some context it’s a good ride considering history of building and realising that it’s not that easy to just knock down a ride. I see it as a good ride knowing these things but as a ride in a theme park it’s not great.

It was playing a lot on the carriage too during the breakdown. Might have slightly altered my opinion on it. On a normal run-through I just felt like most people and myself came off the train relaxed and even the shop ending. Slightly amused by the experience which isn’t what a ghost train is in all honesty

Had my first experience of an evac on Ghost Train yesterday. It was interesting! The actors were doing their sequence, and then suddenly the onboard audio started to play a news report. At this point I knew something was up. (I’m not a big fan of the use of believer by imagine dragons, I’ll come back to this later) The actors stood by the doors basically motionless while these tracks were playing. There was a bit in the breakdown audio were it sounded like they were being possessed. This is when they’d act like they were. The track played two more times, people were starting to chat because they thought they heard it already. In which they did, people were panicking because of claustrophobia. In which an person fainted. There was no announcement that we had broken down, other than the actors not saying anything and the music going off. We were in there so long it was obvious but the lack of communication was poor. The train broke down in the middle of the two stations. They eventually opened the doors and allowed us off. It was quite cool seeing the OP booth for the ride. We got fast tracks for one of the coasters, not ghost train. Which was really disappointing for my group which hadn’t ridden it before. We had 25% of the experience, got stuck and then if we wanted to do it again. We had to join that painful queue. I’d always thought that it could be quite awkward for the actors to cope if the train broke down and I understand that the performance had to end. Improvements I would make: - Actors need to communicate quickly with the ride hosts. Tell us immediately when it’s known that the ride has paused that there’s a stop in the track and let us chat. - Operations need to get people off sooner, evac times should not be as long as we experienced - Take some pressure off the actors by using the overhead screens. I’m sure if it was a temporary delay and there was the fake TV channel on the screen. It would prevent people from getting distressed. If you use it throughout the whole experience then people won’t know that the ride has stopped. I was saying earlier how I hated the use of believer by imagine dragons. I hate it because it ruins the atmosphere, you have this scary experience then they play that song. It’s the same with the hold area before you board, the TV channel is just too happy and makes you feel at ease. DBGT made you nervous throughout the whole experience. This attraction feels quite light hearted in comparison. When people say it’s not scary, I can see why.

Not a fan of a YouTuber acting like it’s HIS playground. Not a fan of quite random YouTubers being allowed access out of a media day (see Jumanji construction media day). TBF I’m not sure there’s actually anything to look at? So again tour is random. The Thorpe Park passholder page on facebook has always got people for an exodus site tour as a VIP experience then you go and let Americans in (which look like they’ve broken in as it’s not done via Thorpe’s social media) it’s a slap in the face to those people. Not a fan 👎

Curtains with lights would be perfect. Anything which swings…. I’ve suggested the lights around the windows on the Facebook post. I know they won’t listen to a random person. However you never know. I’m not sure how possible it would be as it’s not like adding a light strip to your room, it’s setting it up with a ride system too and getting it to work. On the topic of lighting, I think the lighting when you board is perfect as it sets the mood and the colour of them really sets it as a creepy train carriage. It also hides the lack of detail.

I’d say it’s about effect reliability and fine tuning the experience such as acting techniques. Such as the way actors get people to come in the crypt scene. I thought it was weird the actor was angry before we got off. However when In the crypt he was nice and calm telling people to come in Also that shop sequence better be changed with the actor in some sort of costume. I’d love to see the screens used again in the carriage and my suggestion about the light effect around the windows used or something similar. if planned correctly, a lot can be done in 4 days

The screen above the turnstiles is starting to get darker and darker, soon it will be a black screen. I get why they are doing it, but if maintenance is such an issue, why don’t they get a smaller screen or turn it off
-
Redid the attraction today, a few more thoughts. The windows could light up using a LED strip at the bottom of the window frame to simulate the movement of the train and going past the lights in a tunnel, Similar to Sub Terras lifts. The Crypt is pretty empty, it’s the size of a dungeons set. However uses about 25% of it!
-
I’ve seen a few reviews now, it basically pitty. The actors are doing a good job at what they’ve got (which they are) but the experience isn’t there. That’s the general consensus. I’d take Sub Terra over it, having the ride portion makes you feel thrilled. Ghost train gets you scared at most, that’s all. The ride system in ghost train conveys as much story as the “lifts” in subterra. They just need a good dark ride at Thorpe, not like people will be kinder on Ghost train by having a good dark ride. People don’t really want a dungeons styled attraction in the park (see Alton)
