  1. I agree, but I meant from a durability perspective and paint perspective. It won’t wear away, it’s harder to carve your initials into it. It doesn’t react to the elements like wood does
  2. Cant believe I’m saying this, but I’m so glad Thorpe stick to appropriate events. This event isn’t really an event, it’s scraping the barrel for entertainment. It doesn’t work, the thrill makers at thorpe are 100% on brand. This isn’t, it seems like an event that a park such a pleasurewood hills or Oakwood could put on. The props, the quality of the stages and the acting (not the actors fault) should not be in a premium theme park
  3. The more graffiti in the queue will mean more people will get the idea to do it. I’m hopeful. However they should have just gone for the plastic fencing.
  4. They’ve removed the graffiti on the op cabin now as it could be wiped off. The rest obviously will need a paint during midweek closures
  5. There’s a guy today, surveying or mapping out the whole of the saw alive path from tacotaria to the saw plaza. Assuming this is for a plan for a FN maze or zone. It could possibly be for a ride, but assuming it’s the former
  6. Credit: https://twitter.com/jaystocky/status/1646897515633967104?s=46&t=giLifVSV764gPC36mCwmHw The 2023 swarm refresh has now been reverted back to 2022s appearance. Good to see the clientele being consistent each season!
  7. This is one of those projects which isn’t managed by him. I’ve seen it somewhere also he’s normally quite vocal in what attraction is his and isn’t. Also to be working on this along with other new attraction sis quite a challenge. Can’t be working on two ghost trains surely otherwise they will be all of a similar vein.
  8. I was in the Last Call Cafe last Friday and audio was testing inside the attraction. Could hear it coming out of the exit doors where you come out of the fake shop. It sounded very mechanical
  9. I just thought it was a thing to note, considering they played a big part in project. Just something to add to the discussion
  10. No stalking involved actually, so I suggest you think before you comment. It came up on my Instagram timeline. P.S John Burton isn’t lead of every project.
  11. Interesting a creative (might have been one of the lead creatives) for Ghost train has left Merlin Magic Making today. Mid project? Hopefully there aren’t delays or changes in creative direction, however I highly doubt that. Just thought it was some interesting imfo
  12. The lengths I feel Alton Towers still go to keep a ride secret could be applied to exodus with its theme. Hence the small idea and possibility to keep it hidden. As with Jumanji, a lot of the theming or photos were kept very generic until they were ready to announce and the fact it was Jumanji. Not saying they are completely doing this to hide it. However, there’s a possibility that they are, could also be they might be getting a IP and discussions are still on going or it’s simply because they don’t know what specific material they will use to stylise the station.
  13. I wonder if this is due to enthusiast’s possibly knowing or being an indication into the theme or worst caste style of the area. But seems to be more like they are unable to continue work due to a wording issue
  14. I don’t think what they said about the areas really is 100% true. I bet they would like to have them and definitely think they are going to aesthetically match areas to fit the vibe. Makes me laugh, in the dome next to the coffee shop they have the surf boards which have all the different lands in the park still. Relatively minor but in Jacks recent video, even he’s calling them the areas still. if we are gonna have any hints towards theme, it would be that poster from Trailers. But that poster is relatively similar to what the site looks now with the trees. if they ever wanted to go back down the Canadian route, the landscape definitely fits in.
  15. It’s very Thorpe, they partner with the most teenage brands for stuff like competitions. They gotta do what they gotta do.
  16. Saw this under this post, I definitely am looking too deep into this but maybe just maybe we’ll get a theme on the ride.
  17. Still saying spring 2023 hahahaha I wonder when they are gonna give us an opening date and how far in advance. I’d quite like to see an update
  18. I must admit, I paid £14 for pizza pasta after coming to conclusion that most other meals with discount will be around £10 mark. Paying £4 more for unlimited food and drink to fill you up as much as you like is worth it as means that I won’t buy a snack. I think the biggest issue for me is the last call cafe. I didn’t have breakfast, I know there are outside options, but on my particular route, there isn’t. It was £4.95 to get a bacon roll plus £3 for a cold drink. I was paying £8 pre discount for just something to fill me up for 2 hours until lunch. £8 is a cost of lunch, so adding in breakfast isn’t viable. The cafe is a nice idea if you just want a hot drink or snack but only if your treating yourself after having a packed lunch and saving costs that way. Feel like as passholders, you have to take a pinch of salt in how much you buy food at the parks. However something like freestyle, I just wish was cheaper. It’s £2.30 per drink, which could add up during the day. Unless I’m spending a full day at the park reactivating doesn’t seem worth it to me. Just wish there was a cheaper option.
  19. I really don’t want to see the parks go down the same effect route. Same effects just different themes. Try the Alton Towers on! Try the Thorpe park one! suprised it’s not the curse at Thorpe Junction
  20. Been at Thorpe today, a few thoughts. They’ve seemed to have painted most of the air gates and depth charge has had a really decent repaint on the whole structure. They haven’t missed much on it, which is rare for Merlin. Swarms refresh is alright seems a bit cheap as the paint seems to be wearing away and it’s annoyed me people have already put their Snapchat names on it 😂. The station still looks gritty and the theme is a poor excuse for how grotty it is They’ve also mysteriously gone round most of the queue lines and painted the top of them and nothing else. Does look good ngl. The audio situation is what it is, audio levels all over the place and inconsistent tracks unless you’re in lost city and it’s alright. Ride availability and merchandise is brilliant. Not much down time and the quality of merch is great. Pizza pasta was actually decent this time.
  21. Yeah, I admit both your comments are true. They probably just haven’t built enough modern coasters recently which could have had just a lap bar but then the most recent coasters have been, smiler and saw. In other news, the site for project exodus is flooded and the lake and the site have become one. To create a mega lake!
  22. I love seeing the UKs general reaction to project exodus having a lap bar. The amount of people saying “how’s that safe” or they simply won’t ride it is hilarious. I’m not being funny but it’s because of the way Merlin (and it is just Merlin) have always put otrs on their coasters and this has created this culture because of it.
  23. On a nice sunny day in the summer it will. I just hope during autumn and rainy days it doesn’t look like a swamp
  24. Lake looks tiny, I assume that they’ve started to infill parts of the lake or they will open it back up when construction is finished.
  25. I think there’s been some confusion as it’s never been advertised as a spa or such. Always been a quiet space, you’d have to speak to first aid anyway to use it. So you have to have the intention of needing it to get access to it They’ve only partnered with a company to help get some equipment and helps fund the space I suppose
