Cool, thanks for the tips! I'll make Poland and Spain and maybe like the Scandinavian parks (Liseberg etc.) all seperate trips in the future allowing for this summer to be more relaxed and managable. When doing multiple days at the same park what would the suggestion be for accomodation. I would assume the best idea would be to stay in a cheap AirB&B or something nearby rather than staying at the hotel at the theme park, but then at somewhere like Europa for example, would the hotel be part of the experience that I don't want to miss out on even if it costs a lot more?

Is there one park there you would maybe suggest skipping so that we could potentially go to Energylandia for one or two days instead, as I really want to go there as well as I’ve been told that Krakow (and Auschwitz if we are up for it) are places that are 100% worth visiting. Do you think that would be a good idea to add on to this trip as a replacement for something else, or maybe make Poland another trip in the future?

Thank you everyone for the words of advice! Seems I have been a little optimistic with my plans then... I'm very much a person who once they get an idea in their head wants to do it all at once, thus why I tried to plan as many big parks as possible (it took my friends a while to convince me we wouldn't be able to do 6 differnt US parks in two weeks...). Would you guys then reccomend that we decided to do all the Northen France, German, Belgium and Dutch parks this trip then (and maybe throw in Energylandia too as I really want to ride Zadra) and save Portaventura and Parque Warner Madrid for another trip in the future? The maybe slighyly unreasonable thought here was to take a rucksack and a overhead locker size bag each with about a weeks worth of clothes in and then book an AirB&B with a washing machine and dryer once every week so we could clean our clothes. While out and about the plan was just to leave them in the place we were staying if we can and if not rent a locker while at a theme park or just carry them with us while on the train. We did consider driving, but as all 4 of us will be 18 and not wanting to do 3+ hours of driving in a row it would be very very expensive to either insure all of us on someones car or practically impossible to rent from somewhere so we could share the driving (also completely ignoreing the fact one of my mates decided to learn in an automatic for some silly reason). I'm also quite excited by the idea of interrailing after looking into it lots, the idea of exploring lots of places in Europe by train really interests me for some reason even though I'm not normally the type of person who enjoys travelling by train that much I have been using coast2coaster yeah, it's been a very useful tool! It has made me realise that Europe is a lot bigger and harder to get around than that website make it look however, it's quite amusing when the journey from a city to a park that look quite close on the map turns out to be 2-3 hours. I did not expect that I'll be honest, from looking at coaster details on RCDB Europa park looked like it would be a one day park for me as lots of the coasters are more family orientated, which don't overly interest me. Although I have heard the atmosphere there is very good, so maybe that's something I've overlooked when planning which parks to go to.

Hi everyone, I'm currently in the stages of planning a theme park trip round Europe for the summer next year to celebrate finishing my A-levels with some of my friends. This is the first big theme park trip that I've planned so I'm not fully sure on how to do things and was thinking that people on here might have some advice for me! Currently we're thinking that the trip will be 3 weeks long, beginning after the last contingency day in the last week of June, and are planning to visit 9 parks (10 if you count Portaventura and Ferrari Land as seperate). I'm hoping that we will just about manage to miss some of the school holidays in Europe so that the parks aren't too busy; but then I have no idea when other schools across the continent finish for summer. Here on park today. It is very very busy. Got on the first train of the day for hyperia for it to break down when we were on the break run after our ride. The train in the station was then sent into the maintenance shed not to be seen again; still running one train now and boasting a 200 minute queue. Glad I got my ride early!

That seems to be the opposite of what I've been experiencing with Inferno recently (although I haven't been to the park in a while). Last 2 times I've ridden Inferno, the ride hosts have been great, giving countdowns until the train leaves making the operations brilliant. I remember going earlier this year and the trains not stacking at all, and having similar experiences last year with very little stacking too. I wonder what has changed since my visits that has slowed everything down so much?

Not sure what I think about the pricing, even with the passholders discount on the mazes (I'm assuming they're doing that this year, although I haven't looked yet) paying about £8 each for 4 mazes is quite a big asking price for me. Although, I don't think I'm going to be able to make it this year, which I'm really disappointed about, I always look forward to my yearly FN trip. But then I guess it's partly my own fault for making myself so busy over the October holidays...

Not quite sure this is the correct thread, but a bit of a thought related to some of the discussions above. Do we think that the closing of the Passholders group earlier this year was a kind of pre-empting of these budget cuts were starting to see now. Closing the group probably did very little in the money aspect, but would maybe still mean they have to employ one or two less staff members to moderate the group, In addition, maybe the park knew that these cuts were coming and closed the group in advance so they didn't have to respond to the backlash from these changes as much. Closing it longish before the cuts also makes it seem that the closing of the group wasn't to avoid people voicing their probably negatice opinnions. I'm 99% sure I'm reading into this too much, but oh well might as well see what you guys think.

I'm 6ft4" and have always been fine with the rides. Hardly ever stopped due to the fact that I'm tall and the one time I've been measured on the Swarm all was good. Have fun on your visit!

Probably due to staffing, IIRC I think the single rider queue needs an extra staff member for batching.

That’s a real shame, really enjoyed checking the group over closed season for the updates. What was the intended purpose for the group if anyone knows cause it seems a shame for it to go?

Hopefully they do something with that area over closed season. Although there is the massive possibility that since the viewing platform has been scrapped Thorpe think that there is no need tidying the lake area up as no one is really going to see it/pay too much attention to it due to the 7ft fence in the way…

Spotted by digital dan on instagram. The track section in the splashdown is starting to go orange, what do we think this is? I don’t want to say it’s rust as you would think they paint would protect the metal underneath, but could be the gold beginning to fade maybe?

I've noticed it's been stopping on the MCBR recently too. Got a really nice view of a group being evaced from there on Hyperia open day when I was going up the lift hill.

Don't really mind what kind, but a coaster on the island behind the swarm would be awesome and a good use of space. Although that said a RMC wouldn't do any harm... Not the biggest fan of water rides, so not overly fussed by the idea of a log flume, however I do see that would be a good addition to the park!

Where on park is that? Can't tell exactly where it is, looks like the lakeside plaza eating area thingy where the hyperia opening day queue was but I could be wrong…?

Shame to hear she’s having some issues. So glad I got down yesterday even if I did queue for like 6 hours, it’s truly an amazing ride. Goes straight to the top of my albeit rather lacking list of ridden coasters! Also to echo what people have been saying on here, the queue system was insanely well organised, no pushing, people were good natured, cool mist being sprayed in the queue and the staff being super friendly and well drilled for when you needed to go to the toilet. Congrats to thorpe on the front, brilliant system!

Don't think the fake shop scene has been in use for a while, haven't been into that scene in my last 4 rides on Ghost Train (last time probably being July last year). I do think it's a shame if they've stopped using it, it always used to catch my mates who had never done the ride before off guard after I'd convinced them that we we're going to get their photos.

I really like the ad, think it gets to the point quickly and doesn't overdo it too much.
