Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes!! Only a day or two ago was I mentioning that fury never works in its even years (apart from 2010?). I was wondering what'll happen to it this year

Either way it sounds like they're trying to expand the footprint of the park. This could explain why Monkey & Bird garden improvements were cancelled/massively scaled down.Either way would be fantastic to see happen. Both seem to open up an area for improvements to the zoo or theme park.

Nah - the land they're on currently is brown belt. The land which the planning permissions shows them on is the Green belt I believe. Was originally going to be done to free up space for the park to add more rides in (shouldn't get problems with planning when its next to a road with no housing, as long as nothings too high).
  6. They releasing the summers wasps early?I'll hopefully be visiting during the weekdays on first week. Depending on when work will give me the time off (I dont need to be painting no queue fences thanks!)

I wonder if they've just used the plans from when they were going to move those to that plot around 07, or if they're actually planning on moving them.Looks ace. But will it actually happen? Over half of chessies planning applications never come to fruitation, so I'll keep on the side of caution at the moment.
  8. Ahh yeah, I completely agree that if you want to do it, do it. It's great fun, and very, very, difficult to get out of because its just so fun.But if you're into theme parks, or having fun, or enjoying guests and working outside then yes. This is definitely for you (parkwise is your choice!).

Well at least it sounds like you're being paid - most employees are unsecured creditors and sometimes you won't even get anything (end of woolworths many people weren't being paid for example).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UVNT4wvIGYIt just reminds me of primary school, and its an addictive song.
  11. The majority of having a good time is involving riding specific rides - afterall, thats why they're there. Don't tell me people go to Alton Towers just for a good time, and not because they want to get on Air, Nemesis and Oblivion in their 5hrs there .Working efficiently is what it all bubbles down to, but essentially what we're on about here is that Chessington doesn't do that. It's been years since I've seen efficient loading methods and decent throughputs at that park. Irritates me because I know how fast these queues could go if the staff were actually decent at both.
  12. Throughputs guys, throughputs.I honestly don't care if you don't achknowledge me or smile if you've made my queue go mad quick.Course you can be nice, and have convos and stuff, but in all honesty they're for the rides which dont have the massive queues and dont have the capacity to deal with it. Vamps, fury and tomb should be throughput mad due to queues and the capacity they have on them, so people can actually get on the rides they want to in the first place, and leave it for the rest of the park and attractions to make sure they have a super duper day.
  13. Wish they did repaint their rides. The parks never seem to really care about repeat custom other than bounceback tickets (and even those aren't well marketed, purely because.. well.. god knows why).A fresh clean park is far more inviting and will improve your day. It's like going through east croydon station, then going through the shard end of london bridge station. Both are stations, but one is well maintained and looks gorgeous. I know which one I prefer travelling through..I think Drayton only painted because they realised they had a problem image with their park and they need to turn it around. Everything in the UK is so reactive instead of proactive.Nemesis used to be painted every closed season when it first opened.. So its more a 2000s attitude to maintenance than old tussauds.
  14. Cos you might openly slate about how **** chessington is to work at.They rather a blanket ban than try and ensure everyone only posts nice stuff. Though they've calmed down a lot in the past few years.
  15. Vamps is all over the place though, Colossus is probably far easier to repaint.Spinballs came nowhere near that price, buut it was funded by sega and wasn't mega cheap.

Wish I could just press the space bar to dispatch nemesis
  17. Pondering as to whether to go to an assessment there or not.
  18. Or a football. That's equally annoying.Jeans I'd say no. Legoland turns you away if you came in jeans, chessington may well have improved its standards (though probably not, it is chessie). No hoodie. God no. Trousers, Shoes and a shirt do well.
  19. No way, I didn't realise that they were external!!!!Either way, they still have the same KPIs to meet as rest of commercial, same targets. Just so happens they're **** at it.
  20. Rides staff are generally the most bland of them all I think. Majority of the time, they're only there for the throughputs and keeping queues down, and don't have targets or money incentives to want to talk/be happy/be as good as commercial teams are.Saying that, my idea of why commercial are far better are completely thrown out of the window if you include HB leisure into the equasion.
  21. Oh god she's gone and done a Mark9...
  22. Loving the use of someones no limits recreation there.
  23. Eurgh free fastrack. I hate free fastrack offers.

Well, they had a clearance issue with the building.. and thought to make a PR stunt out of it.I prefer this to them saying their guests stink.
