A girl almost died on Oblivion. She came into the station and she wasn't briefing. Luckily she was resuscitated and it still alive.

What exactly are you basing that on? What is wrong with green.. we don't even know if it's going to be happen or even the shade of green.
  4. I personally think it is PURELY down to the fact that there are loads of little sidetracks at Chessington compared to Thorpe. Cwoa has the zoo and several animal shows at various times whereas Thorpe has.. well answers on a postcard please. When at Thorpe you ride, When at Chessington, you can explore.
  5. Right, this is exactly my point. Saw is just a warehouse. It's a lovely, well designed station and the queueline is lovely but for what is supposed to be a 13 million pound attraction turns into a rollercoaster that is void of any kind of Saw detail. You say that Falls, Rattlesnake and Runaway are peeling away and I agree. However can you seriously argue that the old look takes away so much from the ride that the theme isn't apparent. For instance, take Rattlesnake. You enter through a belltower, the queue takes you around walls with rattlesnakes around, past Mexican animatronics, down into the main pit of the ride, through two shed filled with theming, a guy in a barrel, fire and light effects. You go through a small cave with another Rattlesnake before passing into another Shed with various impliments before entering the shed station. Then on the ride you go above the ride before plunging past a water tower, up and over the ride, through different sheds, over the main station before diving back into the main ride area. On Runaway the queue line is built as a staircase, around a central boiler. The queue-line takes you under the ride up and through the middle of the helix. The ride itself takes you up and through the rockwork.Dragon Falls plunges you between two face walls, into the mouth of a dragon, a beautifully designed station which is the pride of old Tussauds, A Buddha, a well designed ride. All the arguments that Saw looks better at the moment are absolute crap, of course it bloody does, its only been open for two months. When its been open for maybe 20 years, then you can start saying Runaway train looks crap. We're ignore the fact that for instance the indoor bit is completely in the dark so doesn't need as much detail whereas Rattlesnake, as a ride completely out in the open is far more thoroughly themed from top to bottom. We shall ignore the criticism of the lack of theming on Dragon Falls (What the hell is that about anyway). Saw is a nicely themed ride, but there is no way in hell its AMAZINGLY themed.

Ah but did you ride it all day for Charity?
  8. In my opinion Saw isn't even the best themed ride at Thorpe, it doesn't even hold a candle to Rattlesnake, Runaway Train, Dragon Falls, Nemesis, Hex, Valhalla, Tomb Blaster, let alone some of Europe's finest rides.Saw is good for Thorpe standards, but lets not pretend that outside of the warehouse, it's well themed because it quite simply isn't.
  9. Do people really adore Thorpe Park so much that it needs two complimenting topics?
  10. Mark9 replied to Artie's topic in The Past
Its reliability is still crap even if it has improved from it's first few years.
  11. Wow, what did you win, a certificate with "you were the last rider on this day 2009"?

I just think it's great that even when heavily drunk I can still spell Colossus correctly, a word which many, (MANY), people have failed to do. In fact the only wrongly spelled word is the is.. it's supposed to be an as

Oblivion is easily world class. It's a fantastic ride.

I just wanted to say that I secretly think Thorpe is the best theme park in the entire world and even though you can go and have stealth, Colossus, saw, slammer, samurai, loggers, rumba, banana ride and carousel all closed at the same time, it easily beats Alton Towers is the UK's best theme park. That is because I am a Thorpe fanboy.
  16. Basiclaly on any average Sunday the queue times for the main rides reach about 30 minutes. Seb's got it pretty much dead on except I would throw Runaway Train, Tiny Truckers, Tomb Blaster and Flying Jumbos into the mix.The difference between the parks though is that on an average friday (as yesterday was), rides like Slammer should not have a 40 minute queue. Considering last year was just as busy, Slammer's queue was rarely exceeding the 30 minute mark..If it truely was a 6000 gate figure then something really is wrong over at Thorpe.

Huh?! I haven't posted at all about my sexuality for weeks
  18. Yes, I was at work today and our longest queue was 10 minutes for Tiny Truckers and Dragons Fury (same max queue length as Alton Towers). It was still sunny on our side of the M25 yet with none of the frankly ridiculous queue lengths.
  19. Are they joke queue times because really this is theme parks quiet period and if Thorpe are getting hour queues for things like Slammer and Inferno then it looks like Thorpe are where Alton was in 2004, ie, never a quiet period at the park.

Like, "stick this 200 foot giant c........ up your backside?"
  21. Well here's a good debate point for you.Chessington, despite having no new rides for 5 seasons now, can still attract 1 million guests a year. Last year the park had 1.2 million guests, the largest growth in the Merlin group off the back of a Sea-Life centre. Thorpe may have to constantly throw rides at a place to gain (ridiculously over the top) popularity. Alton, Legoland and Chessington don't.Just something to think about
  22. As themeparkmad said, there's been new things added every year..
