To follow on from Camelot going into recievership, Alton Towers are offering anyone who has prebooked tickets for Camelot in 2009, free tickets into Alton Towers instead. http://www.altontowers.com/pages/Camelot

In response to the unfortunate news that Camelot Theme Park near Chorley have been placed in receivership, the Alton Towers Resort are offering free entrance to their theme park to any families who had pre-booked tickets to visit Camelot during 2009.In order to take advantage of this gesture, guests should email guest.services@alton-towers.com, attaching confirmation of their Camelot booking, in order to receive free entry to the theme park.Morwenna Angove, Sales and Marketing Director at the Alton Towers Resort said:"On hearing the news that Camelot have sadly entered receivership, we immediately felt for those families who had made plans to visit the attraction this year and have been left disappointed. We will be delighted to welcome those families to the Alton Towers Resort at a date that suits them".

WOW!I bet Alton are incredibly happy or sad. What do you think? Happy of course :rolleyes:I do wonder why Alton is gaving free entry to Camelot pre-booked families as in what is in it for them.Alton would loose money from the people who they are letting in free (Camelot) unless Alton (Merlin Ent) has bought Camelot - which makes sense in giving free entry. The reason why I don't get it that they're two different companies and even in the recession, Alton wouldn't want to loose money.Maybe Alton are being sympathetic and are extending a hand of friendship?

More importantly, Camelot haven't pre-sold any tickets for this year, so Alton are gaining the free advertising ... free!Shame on you Alton.

It isn't a case of nobody has pre-booked, it is a case of very few people have pre-booked tickets to the park and those people will be very happy to hear that they get a trip to a better theme park instead.
