  1. Thrope opens for the 2018 season on Friday 23rd March, TWD The Ride is advertised as “Easter” which is jusy over a after - but no firm date has been announced yet.
  2. Gone already - went quick!

Looks really good - one thing which is abit of a shame is the lack of evening openings till October- would be good for towers to experiment with some late nights in summer like thrope are again this year.

I get the feeling this will surprise a few - seems it was written off pretty early on in its construction, but as each update has come out its looked better and better. It’s not likely to be the best coaster at towers, but looks very well themed and will be a good edition to the lineup.
  5. Tickets for AP day were released at 10 and sold out by 10:20! Another batch will be out on the 24th. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/2018-pre-season-day-at-thorpe-park-resort-tickets-43025616778 This is also a nice little touch
  6. I was parked by staff the majorly of the time I visited last year.
  7. Last year the costs for Fright Nights varied depending on the date you went, with the busier ones being more expensive , I *think* it started at £10 and went up to £20 but someone correct me if I’m wrong! The t&cs say the summer event will be affected too but as it’s the first time we’ve had this event it’s difficult to guess how much it would be.
  8. Investment as you mention like that was never sustainable long term, it was obviously great but I think everyone knew they wouldn’t keep that up long term. As for tidying up the park, new investments will come from a totally different pot, on twitter there’s some pictures from monks walk suggesting has Rush been repainted - so fingers crossed we will see more
  9. The press release suggests the stops will be back “The ride itself will travel through darkened tunnels and shudder to unexpected halts to ramp up the terror.” Also suggests we could see some tunnels within the ride area its self, theres potential there they could add some theming to the animations. Also from the concepts i wonder if "Loading Zone" is what the station will look like.
  10. It will be to do with the Theme / audience. IF they theme it to the same standards of Living Nightmare we will have a decently themed coaster on our hands, its a bit of a shame to lose X for the family market mind, but am looking forward to seeing what they do with this.
  11. On the newer ones do the vests not lock but stay lose (like they are on Swarm just before it dispatches)

Sneak peek at testing - fire and smoke effects - looking good!

I thihk Baron was more getting at the fact that Merlins world firsts / marketing terms which they seem to attract so much slack for are no different to how the parks have been always marketed.

Agree with the above. The wickerman won’t be the most amazing ride in the world, country or even in Towers, but it will be a good fun well themed experience and a solid addition to their line up. Also have no problem with them marketing it as the first woodie for 20 years, it’s a perfectly legitimate claim.

Agree - it’s fairly obvious from the pictures it’s been setup for just that - the perfect picture! LED lighting shining out of it to simulate fire would likely look poor in real life. I do think we will see a good amount of effects (Fire) around the ride - they have a fair amount of gas tanks in the car park for it (pictured a couple of pages back I think) where as I think Swarms fireball just has the one tank? So if that’s anything to go by could be seeing a fair amount as it is!
  16. Even banning KMG seems crazy - obviously the incident was horrendous but the cause was identified and I’m sure measures put in place to stop it happening again - odd.
  17. The amount we make wouldn’t allow me to even go see a team like Brentford.. let alone reading! Fixed placement of the ad in the topic view - thanks!
  18. Equally a pop singer probably wouldn’t release a 30 minute song I think the cd has a pretty good balance actually quite enjoy it!
  19. Some concepts of the overhead trails - quite like the Chessington tiger themed logo too!
  20. I’d be surprised if they had actors in the ride area - not sure H&S would allow that. Im sure X will probably turn out looking quite good inside if Living Nightmare is anything to go by.
  21. Also worth remembering Thorpe's most successful period was the Saw period... I like how they are adding extras to the Summer event too, whilst Summer Nights were fun - I can see why they were not possible to sustain long term, hopefully this helps and adds more pull to people staying late so we can see more of this in the future!
  22. Hopefully the adds are better placed now and more relevant!
  23. As Pete says - we’ve added in some adds to help support the cost of running the site - although having a few issues getting them to appear only where they should do - and some of the content of them is abit random it seems! Thanks for the feedback!
  24. Thorpes site has been updated with information on Im a Celeb and Saw Alive. Im a Celeb will open during peak times which i think are pretty much the same as 2017?: Friday 23rd March –Sunday 15th April 2018 Friday 25th May – Sunday 3rd June 2018 Saturday 21st July – Monday 3rd September 2018 Saw Alive will be open 12pm-Park Close from Saturday 21st July-Monday 3rd September.
