  1. I think there’s some new ghost train clothing but none other than that as far as I know!
  2. Whilst I can see it’s possible if absolutely everything went against you, you’d have to be incredibly unlucky to manage just 2 rides in a full day at towers, even with the staggered opening of the coasters. As for the comment of “the man” man who paid full price to get in, that means he has a season pass and can return all season for what will no doubt be a more successful trip!
  3. Fire has been used this year - the explosion plays when the fire should go off - you don’t really notice it though as the fire effect is so loud it’s self! Not seen the water effects used other than the jets which come out of the side of the helecopter.
  4. Ride availablilty wasn’t great yesterday - which is a shame as they seem to have the worse luck especially when it comes to their annual pass events (remember the 2 ghost train events where it failed to open?!) Fingers crosses Walking Dead isn’t down too long - especially over the final week of half term!
  5. Agree it don’t look good - I’m sure it will be replaced when possible!
  6. X had its fair share of down time to be fair - towards the start of last year before it closed for a few weeks I seem to remember it had a fair few shutdowns throughout the day.
  7. https://blooloop.com/news/scruffy-dog-turnkey-theming-thorpe-park-walking-dead-coaster/ Some pictures from inside the queue / ride area from Scruffy Dog here
  8. I always thought (maybe wrong but guessing!) the launch track was made up of 2 tracks, the place your heads back (or ready to go looking good back in the day!) then the 3 2 1, it sounds like they’ve just put the 3 2 1 bit on which plays as the first one should play, causing it all to be miss timed etc. Of course that could all be wrong but just a guess! Edit: Seems like it’s been fixed now
  9. Think that is an old message - it was closed yesterday.
  10. I guess this is the spoilers thread - so the story is you need to use the transit system to escape in the cafeteria which is the exit area, this whole area has been opened up and themed to what would be Thorpes cafeteria, when you get off the train and enter the area it triggers sound effects / lights simulating some sort of car crash into the building there.

No details have been released when it will happen - as far as I know they are still saying it will happen at some point.
  12. TP Monopoly is now in stock along with a selection of new pins
  13. No it’s not on sale at the park at the moment.
  14. Tbf the exit scene is pretty well done and effective - especially with the actors in there.
  15. I’ve noticed you’ve had this problem with them a lot - it’s certainly not great customer service and closing 2 hours earlier than advertised is bad, there’s no real other way round it. Have you ever complained to the park direct to see if the shed anymore light onto why? I suspect it’s just when they feel it’s too quiet to stay open later but they really should do things the other way round, advertising an earlier close time and then extending if needed.
  16. The vast majority of new rides have teething problems - unfortunately that’s the way it is. If testing only started at 9:30 it would have been because Work was being done to it up till then, not to spite guests. I do think possibly in situations like this though towers should look to open a coaster due to open later to help make up for the loss.
  17. Towers have snow today - Causing the majority of rides to be unavailable. Pic from Merlin AP group
  18. Yeah agreed - I guess you could have a herd of Walkers in there - although not sure theres the space to make the effective enough. On the subject of Living Nightmare theres a skip outside it full up.- not sure if its related to the maze or not - I guess we will see in May!
  19. No that’s the trains it’s always had since it opened!
  20. As it will be the only maze open and one of the “pulling points” of The Year of The Walking Dead and of course an “Extreme” version I’m sure we will see more actors in there than you would of a standard Fright Nights night - there’s quite abit of open spaces within there which you could fit in a decent amount of actors!
  21. Originally on my first rides on ghost train there wasn’t an actor in scene 2 with the train crash, an infected actor was added later on, which isn’t part of it now, so from what I can tell there’s only one less actor from the changes. I agree it looks like the fences into the tunnel have been done cheaply / on site, the crashed train at the end of it definitely hasn’t and is new. I think the corridor could do with more smoke and an “infected” actor in there to give it abit more effect possibly.
  22. I think the former - the boxes are pretty big and ugly attached to the train - but they did light up the more vibrations / noise there was. Agree with what Ryan said, it’s important to remember this coaster is X, a couple of the block sections have been re-programmed to sync up with the theming but other than that the ride it’s self is the same. I’ve always found X pretty fun, even back to X:\ No way Out days, and again this is a fun experience, there’s a complete story throughout and the theming is good, especially in the queue / exit area, really like the amount of Easter eggs too with throw backs to old members of staff, old advertising for X:\ No way out etc. I think it will do pretty well for the park but time will tell!
  23. The battery packs were on one train for the phone charging - they are there for a week. Some pictures from queue, station etc here:
  24. Straight through the first and 2nd, stops on the 3rd and stops on the one before the offload station even if there’s not a train waiting
  25. The battery packs are on one of the trains, lighting up the more noise / vibrations there are!
