Logger's Leap
If these rides are to be removed there will obviously be a reason for it, just because you don't know that reason don't mean there isn't one.

Logger's Leap
Id be extremely surprised if people are put off visiting because Loggers Leap is closed, its not like they are closing Stealth or something, along with the new investment I dont think Loggers being closed is really going to affect anything in the grand scheme of things.

Logger's Leap
Loggers did seem to have down time this year on my visits, also noticed temporary pumps had been hired in to keep it open during peak season. Also whilst I accept the point it's not going to help the parks family brand, I Woukd be surprised if wc16 was not marketed towards the whole family

Logger's Leap
Are you aware of Thorpes / Merlins finances? Nail on the head. I like loggers as much as anyone, its a loss no doubt. Its all well and good to say Merlin are still making money which they are, but they have halved, that is a significant swing in the wrong direction. Its all well and good saying they shouldn't be making these cuts because they are still making profit, but what company in its right mind waits till its running at a loss to make adjustments to the business? There is of course this too, Rumba had a whole new PLC not so long ago which obviously no one knew about but is a significant investment, improves operations and extends the rides life.

Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
To be fair as much as I'm not a fan of the ride id say saw is probably one of the better themed rides at the park - atleast the station - indoor section is actually quite well done imo

Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon
Or maybe it will fit in with the rides theme which we know little / none about?

Slammer
I've heard of that on Slammer before - when moisture gets into the air lines sometimes the bars don't register as locked when they are, they can press a button which blows air through the system (the noises you were hearing) to try to clear this.

Park Operations
I agree they should be professional - to be fair we had some staff ride the swarm in the evening with us, they had songs playing over the pa getting staff and guests involved and generally a nice atmosphere.

Park Operations
You would think it was their last day and they were all unemployed now! Discrasful

Opening Times
No surprise - hopefully if the season starts well they can add improve them. Don't think they've closed in the week since 2004 ish?

Closed Rides
Its a shame its closed early, but I'm in no doubt there are valid reasons behind it. Is it a bit annoying? Yes, Will I still visit over this week/weekend? Yes

Closed Rides
Indeed, information boards across the park had been updated for today stating that stealth would be closed despite it still going round at 10 last night. As Project LC says, it will be planned and likely unavoidable, the park gain nothing from closing rides.

Closed Rides
Stealth is closed for the rest of the season now according to TP's twitter. Also on: https://www.thorpepark.com/rides/stealth/

Closed Rides
As I was leaving the park last night the Queue boards had been updated for today stating Tidal Wave and Stealth are closed, seeing that Stealth was running fine all night can only assume its a planned closure.

Fright Nights 2016
The problem with charging is people will expect not to queue - took us just under 3 hours to do Alton mazes on Sunday which I found pretty frustrating after paying.

Project WC16 - New for 2016
Nothing has been officially announced just yet
-
Fright Nights 2016
I'm quite mixed on it - on one hand charging £5 or £10 for entry for standard AP holders who then get the park till 10 and 5 mazes is good value - the problem with this is the queues and inevitable fastrack If Thorpe charged for mazes they would get less people through and could possibly offer a higher quality experience those not interested could enjoy the park extra hours at no extra cost

Fright Nights 2015
It will be interesting to see if there are any further changes to The Big Top over this week too, I was quite surprised at how much had changed last weekend!
-
Fright Nights 2016
That's a good point - and as much as they could drag out the smaller mazes that would hamper throughputs where as towers can keep the reasonable throughputs giving a longer experience. If the lionsgate rumours are true I can see cabin staying and being rebranded just because the idea works so well - not sure on the others though.

Project WC16 - New for 2016
