  1. There was a lot of complaining last year about the over-crowding, so this year they're trying to control it. Fright Nights has still been a great success for them, it always is and that was never going to be a problem.
  2. That was the point really, to stop the extreme over-crowding of last year.
  3. By the way..painting entire coasters takes quite a long time .
  4. I wouldn't say I'm obsessed at all, but I do actually like listening to theme park audio. The best things about my visits to Thorpe are all mainly to do with the people I go with, so it is more the people than the park that I visit for. That said I do still enjoy going to Thorpe Park but maybe less than before I became a 'fanboy'.Being a fan person never means you enjoy visits more though, I guarantee you the majority of the General Public enjoy their visits to Thorpe Park much more than the Fankids do.
  5. It's been said before that this kind of accident cannot happen on Stealth. Personally I'm unsure why, but many people more in the know seem to all say it can't happen so I believe them. And even if it was because of that then they wouldn't have done it during Fright Nights, they'd have done it in the weeks before.
  6. I wouldn't say £75 is 'cheap', especially considering some people on here might have no income at all. Back in June when I was renewing my AP I had something like £80, so I couldn't afford a £150 Merlin Annual Pass. All I could do was decide which theme park I generally visit the most and that was Thorpe Park, so a Thorpe Park Annual Pass was all I could get at the time. As of now I still have a lack of money (I have £6 to be exact ) so there's no way I can take advantage of the current offer.
  7. I'd be surprised if there was a time when they weren't ever trying to get it fixed for any part of the season. Engineers will always be doing their best to try and keep all rides operational throughout the year (excluding scheduled maintenence).
  8. The only remaining Thorpe trip I do this year will be the last day (November 8th I think). A shame I only managed to do one Fright Nights really. However, hopefully on Tuesday I should be going down to Paultons, and Chessington on November 1st.
  9. I can probably do the fairs, but not the AP stuff, as atm I don't actually have a Merlin Annual Pass.
  10. I know Adventure Island, I hope to go to it next year sometime! :D. Most people on here are probably familiar with it as well, since a lot of us take an interest in parks outside Thorpe/Chessington blah blah blah. Welcome to tpm anyway! :)

  11. Well you could just go for rides in the dark? And the great atmosphere with the Fright Nights music and multi-coloured (but mainly green) lighting? That's what I go for really.
  12. ! The countdown is what builds such great anticipation on Detonator, hearing it when you're actually up there at the top waiting...and waiting..."5 *dung dung* 4 *dung dung* 3 *dung dung*...". Without the countdown it just feels so dead.EDIT: And if you're being sarcastic it's kinda hard to tell on a forum .
  13. Now when you're in your houses all warm you'll say you'd go on it, but I pretty much guarantee your views will change when it comes to tomorrow night.
  14. Well people will give you plusses if they like your post, if you consistently get minus's and it bugs you, have a think about the way you post and see if you can find any reasons as to why you might be minuses. (I'm not saying your posts are bad as I haven't noticed this, but if you've noticed you're getting minus's then maybe they could be improved)Personally I don't think the plusses and minuses things aren't something to be majorly worrying about.
  15. Vortex maybe, Zodiac, Quantum, Detonator, Slammer maybe, Rumba Rapids, Tidal Wave and pretty much all the other smaller rides.
  16. Oh dear God, my German teacher is called Miss Nunn. She's the single scariest person I've ever met. Whenever I have to do a speaking test with her she just looks at me and suddenly all the meaning of the german language disappears. Then she devours my soul.So yeah, it's not very pleasant..

Very true! I also wasn't too sure on Humbug when it first came out. Then it grew on me. And then some more. And some more. Now it's just fantastic . And I'm seeing them on November 17th at Wembley Arena, I actually can't wait for that!

YES.Their new video for Cornerstone is weird. Really weird.
  19. Well I'd disagree with the iconic thing, there are many KMG Afterburners in travelling fairs and other theme parks, and they're all run on much more intense settings than Vortex is. I've also recently heard many people exit Vortex complaining at how lackluster it actually is, so I'd have thought it to be one of the first few main thrill rides Thorpe currently has to leave the park.
  20. Some slightly over-estimated I'd say. I don't think Saw's queue will have the longest of the coasters, when it's on 8 cars and the staff are doing a good job it's queue is pretty damn fast. For PEAK Fright Nights (such as the Saturday in Half Term, which is also Halloween) I'd guess at this:Colossus - 180 minutesSaw: The Ride - 120 minutesStealth - 150 minutesNemesis Inferno - 120 minutesRush - 120 minutesSamurai - 120 minutesX:\NWO - 100 minutesSlammer - 90 minutesDetonator - 60 minutesVortex - 90 minutesAsylum - 180 minutesThe Curse - 180 minutesSe7en - 150 minutesHellgate - 150 minutesSo yeah, busy basically..This Sunday it will be busy, but probably not as monsterously busy like the queues I just said. Maybe something like this..Colossus - 120 minutesStealth - 120 minutesSaw - 90 minutesNemesis Inferno - 90 minutesSamurai - 75 minutesRush - 60 minutesSlammer - 40 minutesDetonatoe - 30 minutesVortex - 30 minutesMazes will be very busy but they always would be.
  21. Firstly, this makes no sense at all. :oAnd it's a Saturday during Fright Nights, I'd say yes it's going to be very busy, regardless of Half Term or not.
