Yes, the result on the BGT final proved just that! :)And great post Mark9 :(But honestly, I dunno, whatever someone says there will always be someone to disagree...I swear people were never this bothered or moany about Saturday night TV in the 90s. Noel's House Party, Gladiators, Blind Date (and that was ridiculous!) and Stars In Their Eyes! :DOh the days before reality TV shows...And to contribute to the funny auditionists thingy... I'm on both sides here.A naturally talented person shouldn't have to go on a show to be found, they would be found naturally. But these shows have sometimes produced successful artists as Will pointed out.Anyway why are we moaning about X Factor, it's not back on yet? :)And Britains Got Talent gave the autistic dancer a chance to show his talent and prove that something like that doesn't have to stop you doing well or discovering a talent you have. And he's an inspiration to young people, boys who may be shy about dancing and autistic people.

Wow. Shocking results tonight! Not just Ronan coming second but Les only coming 9th and James coming 8th! I know he's my favourite but it's not just that, he was clearly one of the best and I'm very shocked he didn't make the top 3, or even top 5, but 8th?! That is just ridiculous and proves a point about how some people vote for these things. New Bounce came third, a bunch of 4 young and "cute" boys. If people REALLY did vote for the proper talent James would have come higher. But then again you don't always have to win these things to become successful, look at SuBo, JLS etc. James is a fantastic dancer, an inspiration to both young people and autistic people. He will be successful I am sure :)I know there are people here probably tempted to comment and say "This is why I don't watch these shows etc"...but this is like the only kind of these shows I watch and there are talented people on these shows!- Dobble Tea Party / Storm In A Teacup
Ooh thanks for the photo Josh :)It looks much better now but I do agree with Sheepie.- Dobble Tea Party / Storm In A Teacup
Hmm I have no problem with the sponsor, although Merlin theme parks do seem to love them :)But it takes away the "storm"/Amity thing so now it's just a teacup ride with some WWTP music and a teabag company :DThe worst bit as others have said is the teapot. They could have painted it blue or done something nice with it. They could always suit it to Thorpe's target audience...Storm In A Shotglass sponsored by Smirnoff.- Britain's got talent
From tonights show I think the top 3 are in no order Circus of Horrors, the 11 year old dancer and the impressionist. It will be very tough! I've already voted 3 times for Circus of Horrors I really want them to get through so much! The impressionist had me in stitches but when I saw the dancer...if I had to choose I'd choose the Circus of Horriors and the dancer. If you look at the talent side of things, I know it is a talent being an impressionist bit the CoH and dancer have got far more. No one has ever danced like that before, it's usually just street and break dancing or group dancers. Also the impressionist like year didnt win the final but he's doing well now and got lots of notice. And look at Susan Boyle! If other people think like this then hopefully CoH and the dancer will get through. But then again the second vote is done by the judges, and if the dancer gets the top vote...aah!I don't care how much money it will cost, Imma keep voting for Circus of Horrors!EDIT: Shame about Circus of Horrors but so glad Les and James got through!I love James even more since I found out about the splint he had to have in his leg...and his autism. It's so inspirational! Even for adults like me, makes me feel really proud of him yet I don't even know him. Now that is quite something :)And he's only 11!Really want him to win now!- Britain's got talent
So what do people think of the contest this year?I love the Circus of Horrors and will be voting for them Easily the best act this year!- Logger's Leap
That's a good idea Dano :DIt's never really bothered me that much, I've just adapted to it and it's now just become part of the experience- Thorpe Park Staff
^^ Aha, that is also a great way to achieve or break throughput targets :DGood to see the staff are putting in this effort!- Nemesis Inferno
They were used originally for awesome bass in the station, so the theme really boomed out. I don't really know that much about them myself but as far as I know they no longer use them unfortunately. I'm not too sure why, hopefully another member can enlighten us- Thorpe Park Staff
Guys just a reminder not to swear :)And not to tell others to shut up, especially when they themselves have worked for Merlin! The appropriate posts have been deleted, so if yours has not been deleted, you need not worry about your post being against the rules etc :DFeel free to discuss Thorpe's staff here in a friendly manner.- Animated Display Pictures
Aww :DIt's easy Han, I'll PM you- Random
Yes dear, but this time I'll be working in the zoo Hate is a bit of a strong word. I just disliked the area, the rides, some of the people I worked with, far more than I enjoyed them. I did enjoy some of it. :DOf course, I don't know what the people will be like that I work with, but the others at the assessment centre were all lovely and people who work with animals in general tend to be, from my experiences at college etc. And it's not just the job I will be excited about, it's the fact that I will no longer be skint, and I will be able to contribute enough money at home which will relieve a lot of stress :POn a completely different and humorous note, my iPhones autocorrect changed skint to skintight- Random
Lolololol when you bounce up and down cross-legged on the bed chanting "Shopping! Shopping! Shopping!" when the Tesco lorry arrives, you know that 1) You're hyperactive and 2) It shows how little your household gets to buy a decent amount of food!I am actually so excited Omg if I get this job at Chessie we will be so happy- What Thorpe Rides Have You Re-ridden?
I understand your point too ;)I guess I could have worded it better. I just personally felt it was a tad negative for a member to more or less say on a public forum that Thorpe Park are breaking a law/rule on re-riding. And no I don't feel it was anyone specific slamming my opinion. I just got a bit grr over it, I'm still gaining confidence in moderating so I always doubt a lot of things I say, which then leads to me being a bit too defensive. That doesn't make sense But I'm not sure how else to word it. I have re-ridden Rumba on many occasions, always a laugh :DRushSamuraiInfernoDettyLoggers- Rant
Oh to be able to express an opinion without the constant questioning...- What Thorpe Rides Have You Re-ridden?
I was just giving people an early warning, as part of the TPM team I'm working with them to crack down on posts and ensure people feel welcome to post without seeing constant sarcasm and the way some people respond to other members' posts etc, which we believe is putting newer members off. I didn't say anyone was being nasty, I was just reminding them to stay friendly; I personally didn't like the whole "These are the rules and they are being broken" thing etc. It just comes across as know-it-all and negative. I assume as a human I'm allowed an opinion and as a mod I am more than allowed to er, moderate? And good point Mr Rave, topic title shall be changed!- What Thorpe Rides Have You Re-ridden?
Right guys can we stay on topic* and be nice please? *Of what Thorpe rides you've re-ridden, not what the "rules" are for re-riding!- Random
Really? What a bunch of idiots! Similar thing happened to my mum when she worked at Kid Co nursery, but she works at a much better one now, and put it this way...turns out Kid Co have a pretty bad rep and do a lot of things they shouldn't really be doing! Why are some people so unsympathetic?- Troubleshooting
Couldn't have put it better Ryan- Chessington General Discussion
Firstly, why were the people mentioned escorted off the park? Or is this just the press exaggerating?Secondly, I see a lot of people saying "Oh well, it's only nature". Surely that's not the issue? The issue is that the bearcat escaped in the first place, right? It was inevitable if it entered the lion enclosure it would be eaten. - Britain's got talent
