It was. It was like, the scariest ride for me back when it was at Thorpe =]I definitely agree with the fact that it was out of place and didn't really suit its name.Never mind anyway, Samurai was indeed the perfect replacement.
  4. I think maybe a slightly more thrilling water slide would be cool. I don't think it should be completely removed just yet as it's a classic and many people would be sad to see it go. Don't forget also that there needs to be some kind of ride that separates the thrills from the not so major thrills, ie: kids rides.Depth Charge is fun, just not as fun as you know, Rush or anything =/

    Finally =D

I tell you what, Tesco is 0_o.It's really good pay and tbh, my Tesco is only a Metro so it's quite cool and everyone's really laid back. But sitting at a till for 17 hours a week can't be good for ya. Seriously, I'm hardly ever put on the shop floor so I just sit there. The other down point is having to work 7-2 on a saturday. It is actual torture...=/I really want a job in River Island. I've tried in my local one so many times but they've just chosen to ignore me =P

I really like this ride. It's not about the thrills, it's about the fun =DI hate queueing inside the station - it adds to the excitement.
  8. That's true, the ride is slightly dull. On a good ride, you can get quite wet but there isn't much to the ride; theming wise and 'effects' wise. The tunnel is a bit randomly placed and it's the only part of the ride that adds a bit more fun =/ tbh, the best part of the ride is trying to get inside one of the rapids =P

Hmm, I have to agree that the paper has made it sound ridiculous.Doesn't it say the piece 'plunged' from the sky and 'hurtled' towards the people below.Ok, so that is kinda true but it's the words they use...=/

Woah, there doesn't need to be all this disagreeing. It may appear worse than what it was, I agree, but believe it or not, it still made the ITV news last night...=/When you look at the video, you do actually see how dangerous it could've been. And I bet that if it had hit someone and seriously injured them, there wouldn't be all this arguing about how its been blown out of proportion etc.Yeah, it's not really major news, but it is still news and Thorpe are gonna have to deal with that, as are we =/
  11. Yeah, I hate queuing for rides, especially when it's nice weather. It's like, you wanna go on the ride but at the end of the day, no ride will ever be worth queues at such length. The longest for me was probably 170mins-ish for Colossus.Oh, and Samurai can actually get pretty long queues. I waited an hour some time ago - but hey, it's worth it in the long run.
  12. Sorry...I just thought that was the point of the topic...
  13. Nemesis Inferno, Slammer & Time Voyagers are all down =/
  14. That does look really good and I'm sure it would do well.Actually, isn't it similar to the Boneshaker ride thing that once was at AT (can't remember if that's what it's called)...=/The only problem is the King Kong figure - it wouldn't fit in with Calypso Quay, obv., but I'm sure there could be some sort of 'fitting' replacement...=]
  15. ^^That's good =]

Me too. It's the lack of restraints that scares ya, adds a bit of "OH MY GODness" to the whole thing...=/
  17. Jamie_Hk replied to Perks's topic in General Discussion
    Looks like it =/
  18. Jamie_Hk replied to Perks's topic in General Discussion
Well, according to the official, all rides are available now...perfect time to go =]

    ^^Slight exaggeration perhaps?...

Great ride, but I agree - it can be quite painful when turning around those corners.
  21. Me too. Can't wait to watch it when I'm next at the park!
  22. Why not? I had plenty of time so I thought I might as well make the most of it.
  23. ^^It was pretty dead actually. Bit cold, but it was cool.
  24. Hey. Went to Thorpe today... It was fairly empty, the longest queue time was half an hour for Colossus, which I didn't go on...everytime I queued up for it, they kept closing it cos the restraints weren't shutting properly.Anyway, most rides were open, except for Tidal Wave and Rush and the other Octopus Garden rides...Managed to get on Stealth for the first time - wow. It was amazing. I'm happy to say that I've now been on everything in the park.Vortex - went on it first. No queue - freezing though.Quantum - a bit tedious cos it only went right the way around lke, 4 times.X - still find it boring tbh.Nemesis Inferno - did it twice.Flying Fish - did it countless times, and the operators were really happy and cheery. Went round 4 times on each go.Rapids - twice.Loggers Leap - once...got very wet.Slammer - did it alone...Detonator - also did that alone... ^^The friends aren't very brave when it comes to those rides.Overall, it was a good day out and not having to queue for long was a bonus. The only other downfall was the weather - it was slightly cold.Quick summary.Good points.-No queues.-Friendly staff/ride operators-The park was looking very clean and tidy.-Erm, I got in for a fiver -Some cool new souvenirs and stuff.-Oh, and there are plenty of park maps available... , pointless point but hey, twas nice to take a few...hundred Bad points.-Weather weren't all that, but that's not Thorpe's fault.-Colossus kept opening and closing, as did Nemesis I for a while.-Slammer got to the top and took ages for it to properly begin.-I went with the 6th form and school being school, we had to leave at 3:45. Could've had an extra hour for Colossus...never mind.Apart from that, that's about it...I enjoyed it.I'll have some pictures up by friday. I tried to take some decent shots of the rides for you all....I wanna go again!!
  25. I'm amazed at some of these pics. I'm gonna try and take a few tomorrow but the thing is, I'm actually such a freak when it comes to Thorpe. I hate wasting time. That includes eating and taking pictures...Anyway, I will try, see if there are any updates around the park.
