I think the point he was making was that if 12 year olds can enter the first to ride competition then they'll definitely be able to ride.

Detonator is a great ride, I prefer it to Apocalypse (even stand-up), it's one of my favourite rides to go on at night (during Fright Nights) too because of the humpty dumpty countdown.

I personally think Zodiac is a great ride! Not Thorpe's best, best still brilliant. I think it's better than Enterprise at AT.
