  1. The classic mistake to make at a theme park. Queueing for a closed ride.
  2. Hey Rich :)

Hows the job at Thorpe going?

  3. I agree here. Unless I had seen the message scrolling across on the information boards (which I was lucky to see out of the corner of my eye), I wouldn't have known they were offering this. One thing I find a bit strange is how the park installed a £1m sound system so they can make park wide announcements in circumstances like this, yet in two days, they have failed to do this.
  4. Ermm you wanna get off my profile! ;)

    :-P

  5. How many bloody times. You were told about 500000 times last night that is was 100% NOT going to be operating today. It was your decision to go anyway despite being told it would be shut, so please, stop moaning! You were told it would be shut! And they couldn't have opened it, do you think that they keep it shut to annoy you? Just because a car has been testing, it doesn't mean its safe to operate. The ride will NOT open until it safe to do so, and now it is safe to do so.Argh!

I realise its not my place to say this but it's annoying me after seeing this in near enough every topic. It's not aimed at any single person in particular.Come on guys, HOW HARD IS IT FOR YOU TO CHECK YOUR POSTS?!The guidelines repeatly get posted by admins and there is constantly warnings from admins to use correct spelling and grammar. It makes your posts harder to read, and nobody is honestly going to want to read a post where you have to decode it into readable english.I appreciate people may have spelling difficulties - nobody is perfect, but as it has been previously said, most internet browsers have a built in spellchecker nowadays. The people who just type without any grammar because they can't be bothered, I would like to introduce these people to something called Microsoft Word! If you have difficulty with written english, please type your post in Microsoft Word and run the spell checker, and it will make everybodies life easier!Seriously, using a capital letter at the start of your sentences and a full stop at the end, is something you get taught to do when you're 5 years old. Over and out.
  7. They lied, Saw didn't open today. They may have typed the date wrong or something.
  8. I do believe I said it wouldn't be countless times yesterday....
  9. The powercut has been resolved
  10. It has yet to finish its closed season maintenence. It had the last of its scaffolding taken off-site yesterday so it should be ready in the next couple of days, presuming the testing goes flawlessy.
  11. Saw him on Flying Fish last week too with equal funnyness.
  12. The miracles workers from Gertslauer have been on-site since yesterday and the ride is almost ready for operation.
  13. The dude operating Rocky Express yesterday was an absolute legend!
  14. I saw that queue too, the next time I walked round to it the queue had dissapeared and the water had been drained.
  15. A wise move. All I can say to people who went ahead with their visits anyway today is told you so.
  16. Soorrrry, double post!

    Your Thorpe Park

Lake, sea, whats the difference? Still water.
  19. That was one of the purposes of the Annual Pass day and that day did indeed run flawlessly. Shutdowns happen and they're unavoidable with the exception of shutdowns for cleaning puke and weather. If you're really not happy about visiting tomorrow, ring Guest Services and they will be able to change your ticket to a different date. If you're gonna travel by train still, just go down to your station and they will be able to refund your ticket / exchange it.It's not worth visiting at a time when the staff are still going through training and everything isn't running as smoothly as it should be. If you really do want the best experience out of Saw I would personally recommend changing your ticket date. I really hope nobody else experiences the shambles that we experienced today.
  20. Reading the last page of this topic and the last page of the Saw topic will give you the answer to that about 1000 times dude
  21. None of the parks in Orlando have crappy unreliable things like Sky Swats

    Rush

Yes! It has indeed. It was on that longer setting yesterday too and today it seems. Was fantastic
  23. I've been holding back from a cruel way of destroying hope for a while now No matter how many times it gets said that its going to be closed, people will still refuse to accept it. Patience slowly dissapears
  24. Well its operated with riders for 4 days so far and only 1 day went without a shutdown. Whats the point? It's been said countless times that it will be shut. No matter how many times you say you hope it will be open, or cos it was testing its fine or whatever, it doesn't change the fact that it will be closed.
  25. To be honest it's more noticeable at Thorpe because they have a lot more very complex rides than the other parks, and they get even less closed season maintenence than the other parks cos Thorpe feel its necessary to push the engineers to get them open for February - creating rushed jobs which are just asking to go wrong.
