  1. I've had a couple of people contact me asking if we are doing a night stay at the travelodge like we we did 2 years ago. I am more than happy to do so if people are interested. It would be approximately £20 per person for the night. Contact me/ post here if you would like to do it and I'll book it - We could even go swimming at the spectrum the next day as peeps have mentioned that in the past
  2. Really gets involved with singing as soon as 'The Bare Necessities' from the Jungle Book comes blaring out the radio
  3. RnR is an interesting one, I've not had too much experience with it myself - but was mildly impressed with it at Fright Nights being able to get all the mazes done within 2 hours, however did notice that once people knew about it the virtual queue times shot up like anything, so to some extent can see what people mean when they are not too encouraging towards it. However with all it's flaws that have been pointed out to me, I can't help but feel optimistic about it when it does eventually work to how it should. You see I myself would then make the use of me not standing in a line to explore and enjoy the smaller things the park has to offer. Maybe try a sideshow or two - go and have a sit in the sunken gardens for when I would of been standing in a queue. Maybe even have a look at the shops and then once in a while if the queues are short enough, go and ride the smaller attractions. If they are too big I'll be content as after all without the system I would of been just standing within a queue looking at the endless about of turns and bustle of people. It just means I'll be able to do a lot more with my day and experience things I did not know I could of experienced and be more overall relaxed. Also the other new addition of Pizza Pasta, I am extremely happy about. It's one of the restaurants I think they have done well over the Merlin Parks and personally myself and I also know a small number of friends who think it doesn't actually taste that different to Pizza Hut itself. Have been surprised myself with the amount of backlash this new addition has got with some people when I don't personally see that much of a difference other than a name change - Not as if they are opening a gourmet restaurant here! But everyone to themselves at the end of the day. Overall just some good quality pizza and now being Merlin run we get discount. It's a win win situation for me
  4. Was very tall for his age and will most likely outgrow me before he even submits his first piece of coursework for his GCSE's!
  5. To be fair, I haven't said it's happening tomorrow and could be as early as 2017 but more likely 18/19 which is in my eyes medium term so I'd have to agree with ElectricBill on that one. They would like it earlier but other things need to happen first.
  6. Beginning of closed season - recent enough to spur discussion, as mentioned though - plans change and things and most like,y will not happen but from where I obtained this it leads me to be more optimistic than my standard response would Now personally I am not bothered about a launch coaster at Chessington. Don't get me wrong it would be nicer rather than nothing - but if they were to build a new rollercoaster all I would like for the park to do is to literally build a simple sit down coaster with one loop. Hell - even just one of those standard fair looping star coasters you find at Brighton or in the past at Dreamland but themed to a Chessington standard so it doesn't appear like a standard fair layout. Or to keep the haters at bay who say they won't do a good enough job a custom layout that is simple like one of those fair creations with the emphasis being on that ONE loop - to be marketed as a rollercoaster that you will take your first ever inversion on. I personally would find it wonderful for Chessington to advertise a ride and emphasis it to be every kids first looping coaster. Nothing that special, just a simple principle
  7. After replying to a question in Liam T's blog - I replied the following response below. I know I'm in the minority here when it comes to my love of this ride but when I started writing my response to Liam, I suddenly got all involved and my first experience and the emotions that came with it just came flowing back. So as I was quite proud of my response and it also gives a little indication of why I started to love this ride so much - to give you an opening into the mind of Peaj I thought I'd also post it here: Being a fan of the saw films to start off with, when I found out about the IP I literally had a geekasm. I remember the little promos they did before its opening. YouTube videos with 'I want to play a game.' Clips of people trying to escape - but hardly any indication of what the coaster would entail. (Apart from a few statistical facts) but these facts were meaningless as the campaign was about the horror of trying to escape this 'trap' rather than being a rollercoaster. The day arrived when I got to go to a preview event - the likes of jonathan Ross and other guests were there to try it out. The annual pass holder event also copied the format 2 days later. I entered the seat for the first time and the car sprung into action. Billy greeted us with his speech, we turned the corner and trap after trap came by - everything the promos had been promising us. The drop on the inside was kept secret. We knew about the big one outside but that small one indoors packed a punch and really got the juices flowing. Around we went into an inversion over a dead body into the outside world and then the thrills and excitement of the outside section came. At no point was the ride tame - each element had some sort of kick to it and by the time we got back to the station, tears of joy were streaming down me and my friends faces - everything that the promo had promised plus there was a good rollercoaster attached to it too. Yes for those who go on it all the time and then try and nit pick at all the faults they start to see or experience on their xth time - then yes they will try and find the faults but for something that you go on a rare occasion with the initial trailers telling you you will be part of the experience - put in a trap from the film and also having a queue line with actual props from the movie - Boy George did they do themselves proud.

  9. Well yes I know that bubble works also has a circular boat but it's more a relaxing stroll down a stream with many (now inanimate) objects to a cheery happy piece of music However Rapids these are more adventurous and you bounce up and down, spin and lurch (supposedly) across a raging river. With chessingtons theme of exploration and adventure this would fit in nicely and give a bit more of a 'thrilling element' (And yes I also hear toadies site will be used for a future development - which is sad times for me as I do have a soft spot for toadie - but not for a 'major addition' though....) Oh I know this Ben - but where I heard it from, I have a lot more belief in this being the current direction. Take as you will but for me hearing a lot of rumours and ideas over the years, which I take with a pinch of salt - this time my reaction was 'ooooo that sounds interesting, hope they do not change their futuristic direction' as it came from somewhere that for me is deemed a lot more reliable that I from personal experience just can't take as a pinch of salt. Yes plans change over the years and things get stopped but this is currently the major consideration at this time that I myself am happy to rely on and have faith from the words of what I find - something credible
  10. Saw has lived up to the hype IMO and also to the general public with the rollercoaster constantly being rated the best coaster there by the GP only being beaten by Stealth once in a while. I also find it to have an original and interesting layout that just just turn in the same direction all the time or form a big spaghetti circle
  11. Now I heard a while back that in a few years (maybe as early as 2017) that Chessie WILL be getting a Rapids ride and that It will be near Zufari as the green belt restrictions around there have now been really loosened. Be interesting to see how that would be done though, I maybe thinking of the wrong location but under the impression that Rapids is their next big investment. Personally I think that'll be a great addition
  12. A great moving shot that is on fiiiiiire 8/10

  19. Yes there should be a few new additions who can come this year
  20. Long term the May meet going forward is planning to be Legoland Year 1 and Paultons Years 2. I know this is a requested attraction and I promise it will be on the line up in 2016
  21. The provisional date has always been set up for opening weekend the last 2 years but both times the forum has voted it to change to the second weekend, so basically have predicted what you guys will go for

  23. Right based on people's feedback throughout the year and knowing what people would like to see and also noting that longer distant trips have proven successful I would like to release to you all my proposed outline for the TPM meets in 2015. Please note all of these are subject to change depending if special events come up or become included, so some might get the cut in 2015 if we don't have time but I know a lot have always asked what we have planned. So here we go: Proposed Outline TPM Meets 2015: January: Guildford 2015 February: Adventure Island March: Thorpe Park Open Season 2015 April: Chessington 2015 May: Legoland 2015 June: Alton Towers & Drayton Manor Weekend July: Ministry of Sound 2015 August: Oakwood September: Disneyland Paris October: Fright Nights 2015 November: Thorpe Park Closing Meet December: London Xmas Meet 2015 As it is now closed season - now would be a great time for those who have been to meets to give feedback on what you liked, what you didn't like and for those who have not been on meets what they would like to see to encourage them to attend and meet some of the fantastic people on here Currently June/ July maybe swapped around and possibly the Fright Night Meet maybe actually at Tulley's but currently this is the plan and hopefully with some extra's too on places you might not expect Caio!
  24. Good Afternoon all of you wonderful people! I'm very excited to officially announce plans for our Open Season Meet at Thorpe Park! The date for the event will take place on Sunday 22nd March 2014. The Outline of the day will be as follows: Meet by the annual pass entrance at 09:30 am by the cash machine just on the off chance the gates could possibly open earlier than advertised such as a couple of seasons ago. As soon as the gates open we will go into the park, if by any chance you happen to miss this meet point due to travel arrangements or just plain lateness you can either a) phone or text so we can arrange to meet you or meet up at the second meeting point later in the day. This trip will have the return of the popular Ice Breaker game called Spooning. Those who have participated last time had great fun and if you do not know what it is everything will be explained on the day. The prize for the winner is an Easter Egg . This first part of the morning we will make the most of the quiet park and churn out those rides. Once the park starts to fill up a little bit more we will calm down slightly and then have a chill for 15 minutes around the stealth rocks so if for whatever reason you could not get there for opening you can meet us at 11:30 am if you had not arranged to meet beforehand via phone. Please bear in mind we will leave without you if you are late as it’s not fair on time keepers! Punctuality has improved dramatically in the past year so long may this continue. We will then continue visiting the attractions and it will be arranged beforehand that we will try our best to get on all the attractions people wish to ride. One thing that has been annoying in the past is the decision making on where to go next and then the group changing their minds if a queue is above a certain level. This just ends us up in the past riding less as we spend a lot of the time deciding where to go. I know not everyone will want to do some of the rides at THORPE PARK. If you decide to not come on please be polite and wait for everyone to come off and chat to other members whilst you are waiting. Or go off and do another attraction as long as you’ll be back after the group has finished riding the attraction. If you are going I will be talking to you beforehand to see what attractions you are most keen to do so I can make sure I can arrange the day so that everyone gets a chance to ride what they wish to ride. Please respect other people’s wishes who wish to ride certain things that you yourself may not be too keen with. During the day, around half 1, we will stop for a bite to eat where you can go and eat where you like and we will arrange where to meet after everyone has finished eating. (Who knows we might all want to eat the same thing anyway ) After lunch we will group together for the Official Group Photo for the meet and continue going round the park and riding the attractions people want to do until the park closes. I will be handing out my phone number for everyone who is attending the meet that day, should there be any problems. We aim to stay together as a group for the day, going from one activity to the next, enjoying getting to know people you share very similar interests with, the idea is to just go with the flow and enjoy the day with some awesome people. There will be many photo’s in the day being taken I’m sure and the possibility of a few video clips. Whilst we cannot force you to stay with the group, it is the general purpose of these meets! You will have my number (and some of the senior teams) if you become split so by all means use it. The meets are a fantastic laugh and everyone is invited, even if you’ve never posted before or been to any kind of meet at all. If it's your first meet, I understand it can be nerve breaking - but we were all there at one point so know how it feels, please don't let this stop you from attending - Once there you'll be part of the group in no time! Once again, everyone will have my phone number so please use it on the day If anyone has any issues or concerns or even nervous about coming, feel free to post here, or PM myself and I will get back to you as soon as possible. If you feel like my response is taking too long another member of the team will be more than happy to help. We will all try and help you out as much as we can. Please PM me or post here to say if you’re attending. If you are bringing a mate along with you, please also include who they are so they are not known as ‘Plus 1.’ The events with TPM have been fantastic this year and this one will be no different Attending Meet (27) Amarghh Celia Mae Coasterdude Dan9 Equoaster Horcruxer Iannem James & Co. 25. Good Afternoon all of you wonderful people! I'm very excited to officially announce plans for our meet at Adventure Island! Back by popular demand this was not going to be done again until next year but there has been a big request for it! The date for this meet is Sunday 1st March 2014. The Outline of the day will be as follows: Meet by the Rage's Vertical lift hill within the park (free entry to enter) between 11:00 and 11:30 am which is located on the western side of the park. As soon as it is 11:30 we will be getting the group wristbands (£18.90 pp). If by any chance you happen to miss this meet point due to travel arrangements or just plain lateness you can phone or text so we can arrange to meet you in park. This first part of the morning we will make the most of the quiet park and churn out those rides.
