It's not an unusual thing across the world of theme parks. Indeed, from what I can understand, it's more common to own rides slightly further into the season than not. Maybe their reasoning behind it is because of Smiler's delays and realising that the UK's unpredictable winters are not best for construction work?

And the final standings, for those keeping track... 1) Slammer 2) Nemesis Inferno 3) The Swarm 4) Stealth 5) Colossus 6) Rush 7) Rumba Rapids 8) Detonator: BOMBS AWAY 9) Saw - The Ride 10) Tidal Wave 11) X 12) Samurai 13) Depth Charge 14) Loggers Leap 15) Vortex 16) King Pig's Wild Hog Dodgems 17) Quantum 18) Flying Fish 19) Rocky Express 20) Storm in a Teacup 21) Chief Ranger's Carousel 22) Mr. Monkey's Banana Ride 23) Zodiac 24) Storm Surge --- However, it turns out that Angry Birds 4D was accidentally left off the list when someone copied and pasted their go near the beginning of the game. Since it would be ridiculous to start the whole game again just to include that, let's just stick it at the top of the pile... Winner) Angry Birds 4D Experience 1) Slammer 2) Nemesis Inferno 3) The Swarm 4) Stealth 5) Colossus 6) Rush 7) Rumba Rapids 8) Detonator: BOMBS AWAY 9) Saw - The Ride 10) Tidal Wave 11) X 12) Samurai 13) Depth Charge 14) Loggers Leap 15) Vortex 16) King Pig's Wild Hog Dodgems 17) Quantum 18) Flying Fish 19) Rocky Express 20) Storm in a Teacup 21) Chief Ranger's Carousel 22) Mr. Monkey's Banana Ride 23) Zodiac 24) Storm Surge Congratulations to Simworx, Rovio and Thorpe Park for creating such an awesome 4D experience that it topped the pile. Better luck next year Slammer

Staines is the nearest place. Plenty of shops, coffee places, restaurants, etc., as well as a cinema. There's also a market on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. A little further afield is Woking, which is a bit bigger basically. Has all the same stuff as Staines, just more of it. There's loads of other leisure activities as well. If there's something nice your mum is specifically interested in doing, I'd suggest Googling "*activity* near Chertsey", and I'm sure something will come up.

Scores for this round have been corrected - sorry to anyone that was trying to post when I temporarily locked this topic! Can people please play within the spirit of the game, only do one + and one - per go, and ensure you wait three turns before posting again. Keep everything simple and do a quick double check to see that your scores are right. If not, I'll just delete this topic and say Swarm and Slammer came in last... Or even better, delete and just pretend this silly game doesn't exist Anyways, here is my go: Nemesis Inferno (5) Slammer (5) The Swarm (5) Swarm + Slammer -

Storm Surge has more theming than Slammer, Rush, Vortex, Detonator, Flying Fish and Samurai. Granted, some of those rides are more difficult to theme, and Storm Surge has many missed opportunities, but even then, Storm Surge has a clearer identity than many of those rides I'd say... The thing with Storm Surge is that it was essentially a freebie. Merlin had it lying around basically, and there was a need for Thorpe to install something a bit more relaxing. Take into account Octopus Garden didn't fit in and was a waste of space, money and time, and it all just makes sense for Thorpe to stick the ride there. I'm in no way defending Storm Surge here. I think it's a ride that stinks of missed opportunities, sticks out like a sore thumb, etc. etc. The list is as long as you can imagine. Just feel like it should be criticised for the right reasons!

Happy 18th birthday to scarycoasterboyMAN!

My fault - in my displeasure for the ride, I wanted to take two away from it. Alas, I've been caught. (But seriously, it was a mistake - I've edited now. Thanks!)

Colossus (3) Nemesis Inferno (6) Rumba Rapids (1) Rush (5) Slammer (7) Stealth (5) The Swarm (8) Swarm + Rumba Rapids - I've wasted a 'precious' minus against Slammer because Rumba Rapids really doesn't deserve to be anywhere near this high up I'm afraid...

I've got my baseball cap on and ready to explore this new TV show! Let's try this - anyone going to own up to being a member of the Mafia?

I remember hearing a while ago about the possibility of a Mack Youngstar for that site. Not sure if that's still possible now though. As for theme, Pingu would be good. Also, just so that I can relive my childhood a little bit, I'd love to see a Teletubbies coaster!

Premium holders get the Castle Dungeon for free. There's no need to book in advance for it either.

Simple thread really - what theme parks are you thinking of visiting in 2015? What trips have you got planned, are in the middle of planning or still umming and ahhing over? --- For me, this year should be very exciting. -Merlin-wise, I'll of course be making the most of Thorpe still, fitting in as many trips as possible. I'll also aim to go up to Towers a couple of times too. Legoland and Chessington are unlikely though; Legoland just doesn't have enough to entice me unless I know enough people already planning on going, and well, Chessington just upsets me these days... -UK-wise, I hope to return to Drayton to see the Thomas Land extension and to go back for another visit. Realistically, Paultons and AI are on the cards as well (AI almost almost happened in 2014, but alas not), but I guess I'll have to see. -Europe-wise is the most interesting and exciting for me though, of course. Liseberg (and Helix) are calling me, and that seems likely to happen at the end of August / beginning of September. I've also really wanted to go to the likes of Efteling, Toverland and Phantasialand for a good few years, and I think I now have the time and money to make that a reality this year!
