Mr C is a very strongly opposed to sexism I'll have you know!

And I'll make it easy for you.In my eyes:Social Network: A place for friends just to have fun and talk about whatever.Community Forum: A place where people make friends from having a similar hobby.Let's just drop it now, yeah? Whilst I stick by my opinion, I regret saying it.

Meh, social network, community forum. Different things in my eyes.
  4. Flat Won't DoTook a trip down the park yesterday. Was only meant to be till about 1:30 / 2, but left a 12 due to other stuffs. Anyways, get to the park just after opening time. Rather quiet to be honest. To my surprise, all four major coasters were running! Yes, all four opened on time. I think that's a first for me for this season. Anyways, headed over to Inferno as per..Oh, running on one train I see. Lovely. Did mean that rerides weren't possible. It was like that on my last visit as well. WHY? I don't care how quiet it is in the morning. It would be easier and more efficient to get both trains on when the park opens! Moved onto Rumba Rapids. It well and truly is a travesty. No waterfall. The sprinkles were barely squirting. It was a fail of a water ride. I did it twice to get my 30 rides for this season; I seriously need a brain check for that one. Then did Teacups. First riders of the day. Operator was amazing. Spun us, used the PA exceptionally well. Must say, I was very impressed. Detonator was next. Was alright; but the Countdown has gone back to 5.. *cut out*.. 1. Ruins the effect of the countdown. Headed over the Loggers, which, as per usual, was still a walk on. T'is good, though the slightly sickly smell after the tunnel has returned. Did think of doing Saw, but rejected the full queue for a near empty Alive one. Has got worse. And I don't mean just because I know what's coming worse. It is worse. The second room wasn't vibrating, the third room wasn't cold. The Carousel went off later than usual (as in, when the front of the group were at the exit). In fact, the only good room was the fifth one - my least favourite!Headed over to the flats of Lost City. Rush had a full queue. Zodiac's was nearing on half full. Vortex looked about 20mins, so opted to do that. The thing is, from all the flat, I didn't hear themed music. Oh dear god no. I heard the dreaded pop music. Now, I'd understand if I was in Sun Scream or something, but I'm not. I'm on a ordinary day. The thing is, as much as people will say "it suits the target market", it just doesn't work. It can't be heard that well from the queue, and the lack of announcements ruin any atmosphere created. And the music itself, well, from the top of my head, I can remember:Lady GagaN-DubzScouting for GirlsTinchy Strider There were a couple more, but Gaga was on about 4 times in the 35mins I was in the Vortex queue - now that is just plain old gaga. Had to leave after Vortex which was a shame; no Glasshouse lunch, no CCR and no Rocky. :)You can probably guess what I'm about to say: Flat won't do. The flats have gone downhill in their overall quality, and other rides are just slipping in standard too. Samurai and Slammer were down. Slammer had two scaffolding trucks in the area. Samurai looks nearly fixed. The park has done very well this season, but it's going downhill yet again...

I find that slightly unfair.Yeah, I'm cynical and pessimistic at times. I'm also fair and optimistic at others. Then again, you might not want to read my TP TR that will be coming tonight; it really will back up your claim.. But, when I criticise this site, I'm doing it for the good of the site, believe it or not. This whole social networking site thing is silly and needless. Basic is best. Yeah, I dunno if this is a feature that is optional or not, but it makes the site look worse, not better. Simply my opinion, I dunno whether anyone else shares it, but you never know.

I'm sorry, but I have a strong dislike for the social networking bits. This is a forum. A place for discussing a particular subject; theme parks in this instance. So why do we need to share them over a social networking site or print them off or whatever? And the whole notification stuff and status thing. I mean come on. Is this Facebook II now?
  7. JoshC. replied to Perks's topic in General Discussion
That's one of the most sexist comments I've probably ever read on this forum...
  8. AH right. Knew it was one or the other. :PThanks

That is fair to an extent, but...The marketing was advertised at the adult / thrill seeker market, who are used to the 1.4m thrills.
  10. Unless I imagined / got confused with bees, wasps are dying out in numbers and need protecting, not exterminating.

Don't get me wrong, I hope it gets sorted ASAP. But I do tend to be more pessimistic than optimistic - and I just won't hold my breath that we'll see it up and running by, say, the weekend. Again, don't get me wrong, Thorpe have done brilliantly this season reliability wise and you can only commend them for that. All I'm saying is that just because the cherry picker is out, doesn't mean it'll be used yet. Fair and true.
  12. Another Zamperla? Another low capacity ride?Don't want to prejudge, it would be an excellent ride for the park, but the latter of my points are of great concern.
  13. And a lot of local schools to me start on the Monday. To be honest, starting on a Friday is pretty pathetic. I'd still class the Sunday as non-term time, because that one day will make very little difference in my eyes.
  14. It could be. Then again, it could easily be just as busy. Or busier...
  15. It will be busy.Just not as busy as today, tomorrow or Wednesday. Then again, it could be just as busy as 99% schools are still on holidays.
  16. Hardly term time.Schools don't till next Monday and colleges later. Won't be as busy as previous Sundays, but still fairly busy.
  17. The amount of times I have posted in Rant and Schools and Studies (and other topics) about exams and school, which showed how much pride and effort I take in my school work, I feel it was right to assume that people would know I put effort in my exams. Knowing where I was coming from, I don't see the post I made as obnoxious or idiotic; I see it as perfectly fair and reasonable. I also see my first comment of that post as fair, as it has been a recurring theme..
  18. Yet again, I appear to have not gotten my point across. :lol:To quote myself, "I know I got great grades.". I also know I should be ectastic with the results - most people would. The thing is, IN MY EYES, when it came to the last exam, I didn't do well enough and stopped me getting the grades I wanted and what I felt I deserved. That it what I am disappointed over. As said, for Physics, I got one mark higher than a D in the final exam, FOR ME, that is just, well, undescribable. And what makes me feel worse is that I think my grades are bitter sweet.I too worked my arse off, and had family issues floating around at time of exams. I'm sorry that when I don't do as well as I was expected, or personally wanted, I'm just a little disappointed and upset...
  19. I know you did 'contradict' yourself and you can understand the other side, but seeinghow I probably was one of those people, I'll just explain how I felt. When people asked me how I did, I have no idea what to say. My grades were great, yes, but not what I was predicted and not what I expected. I ended up saying they were 'good' at first, and then just resorted to saying 'Not what I wanted' before I actually said what I got. The thing is, with a fair few of my results, I got lower than I had previously gotten. Physics. I was on target for an A* and was perfectly prepared for the final exam. Final exam comes, it was easy. I get one mark higher than a D; final grade, an A. English Literature. 2 marks off full marks for coursework. Going amazing in all the practice exams. Exam comes, felt it was straightforward. Get an A overall. French. I knew this was going to be bad, probably my worst, but I was aiming for a B. In 3 Modules, I get a B. Final Module, I get a low C. Overall grade: C. DiDA. Totally controversial; some units marked down my 3 Grades. My teacher was certain I'd get A* or A. I get a B. Everyone in the school got taken down. Pure shock. History. Getting As in practice exam. Final exam; get a B. Now, I'm usually fine when it comes to exams and never get the 'Blank Mind' or anything. So what on earth happened I do not know. But after I was expecting so much more, and after I do (for me) badly in the final exams, all I can feel is that I did 'okay'. Yes, I did brilliantly before the exam (and still got a great overall mark), but the fact that I 'flopped' at the end is just upsetting and frustrating. Yes, maybe in the long run it won't matter, but it's just that short term gutted feeling that you have. (I do not know if everyone who goes on about having bad grades when they got great ones is like this, just my personal experience). In the end, I know I got great grades, and it is that bitter sweet feeling that makes me feel worse - especially when I think all I've done is 'okay'.
  20. Fair enough. :lol:But I still see, in my eyes, the staff and customer service at Chessie better, but hey-ho.
  21. Wow.I'll completely agree that Thorpe have upped their game, suit their target market and are on great form, but I still see Chessie being miles ahead. The staff at Thorpe are good; there are some that are fantastic. Thing is, Chessie's staff are mostly fantastic, with a couple of 'good' ones.Thorpe are doing well, but just how well I'll judge when I visit in a few days.(Also, I think comparing these two parks is a tad out of perspective. They are very different and are more incomparable than comparable. )

*sigh*Perhaps I'm leaning towards hypocrisy here, but I'm more ranting in general, so yeah. People seem jump the gun when grabbing a stick; be it the right or wrong end. Yeah sure, I'm the not most confident of people in real life, and anyone on here who has met me - and I mean properly meet me, and spent a few hours with me - will know that I'm not the most talkative of people. This usually gets better over time and then you wish I'd just shut up with the constant babble of redundant information. But anyways, I am a relatively shy guy. Why? Because when I opened up, it was used against me, and caused nearly 10 years of misery. I'm too afraid of getting hurt again. Sure, now, I appear to have grown in confidence - but deep inside, I'm still that little 7 year old boy who hid his bruises, cried himself to sleep, etc. etc. Actually, ignore all of that. Sentimental sob stories aren't my thing. But whatever I say in real life is what I'd say in the virtual world, and vice versa. I'm NEVER afraid to voice my own opinion now; whether it makes me hugely unpopular, hated or what. Don't like it? Well, tell me. Of course I don't want the whole "You f-ing tw@, you're a c***", etc. etc. What's the point in just attacking me if you don't like? It does nothing. It doesn't hurt me. It doesn't phase me. Tell me as polite as possibly you don't like and get on with your lives. And, if people on here really can't stand me, why not go on 'My Settings', 'Profile', 'Mange Ignored Used' and put me as an ignored user so you can ignore my post? I am just giving my opinions - like you are meant to on a discussion forum - and I very rarely give concrete facts. Simple.People just seem to like digging at me. Be it that they don't like my personality, they don't like my opinions, they don't like what I do or whatever. It just annoys me. I just go through life doing nothing spectacular, nothing out of the ordinary, just being a normal enough person, being who I want to be, and that's wrong. Well I'm sorry for living.
  23. People's opinions CAN be wrong, if they are making these opinion on facts that are wrong. James is wrong to outright say eee's opinion is wrong, but is not wrong in saying his facts that he is using for his opinion are incorrect. In this case, eee is saying how AT seems to have very long queues, moreso than TP - or something along those lines. This is a clouded fact, as Thorpe does tend to have longer queues - for a variety of reasons.I'd disagree with everything eee has said, but hey-ho.

For this to be true, the throughput would be between 1100-1300, as the estimated throughput is 600pph as a maximum. And that would mean the first cattlepen would be capable of holding 550-650 people.Nu-uh.
  25. Wow. People on this forum REALLY do need to learn the definition of OPINION.I disagree with Will's OPINION. He is basing his OPINION on statistics, facts, he has seen. However, in my OPINION, these facts don't support Will's OPINION. Regardless, he is still ALLOWED his own OPINION.And Matthew, I too disagree with your OPINION regarding the C3 exam (if this is AQA syllabus you're referring to). I found the C3 exam straighforward, even if iy was slightly harder than previous exams. I PERSONALLY found B3 much harder, but I know others disagree with me there. You cannot use your OPINION as a FACT.Matthew, don't go down to personally insulting and attacking people on their OPINION, especially on one that you've misread, it is wrong. I understand this is something you feel strongly about - so do I - and by all means put your point across, but don't insult people while you're at it. I did it a couple of pages back no problem, why can't you?
