Can anyone help me? I was going to head up to Alton on thursday but it turns out alot of schools are closing because of teacher stikes, do you think this will effect Alton Towers alot?Jake

Everything looks to be fine at the moment. I love that now you can go to thorpe park without expecting 2 or 3 rides to be closed for the day, I think it was back in 2007 were there was only 28 days which all rides ran.Jake

You could say I'm quite happy at the moment, I have managed to plan a trip to Alton Towers by train on the 26th june for 11 pounds return from london. (I am still able to get away with being 15 if your wondering how I got it so cheap ). I cant wait I have only been once and that was when I was 3 the opening year of oblivion, I rember watching my brother ride it and thinking he was really brave . Jake

Okay another question, does alton towers get busy on sundays. I was planning on going up there with some freinds this weekend and I worked out the whole day will cost me 50 quid. If its going to be busy I dont see much point in going.Jake

Stuck at the top of this thing today, one of my freinds totaly freaked out felt really sorry for him . He just got the courage to go on a ride. Staff didnt help much either, I know they cant say whats wrong with ride but telling us the same thing over and over really wasnt helping him. Jake

If you go onto a site like Theme Park Review, alot of them there count there credits. I'm in the same boat as Sheepie id rather enjoy the ride rather then rember how many times I have been on it. What I fail to understand is the fact that a ride such as Maverick cost 21 million dollars which back in 2007 would have been 11 million pounds. Why then does Thorpe Park have to pay 12 million pounds for a ride that is half the size. I know there a diffrent company but you could also compare it to Colossus which comes from the same company and cost 12 million pounds that is also half the size and uses half the technolgy.jake
