  1. Glad they are working on it so soon! It does look messed up, I am just picturing it spinning and then going into that position
  2. Look on the positive side of things, the cherry picker was sent over in preparation for them to shortly fix the ride so can only be a good sign even if nothing happened yesterday. With the cherry picker already there they can begin fixing it ASAP when the new part or whatever is needed has arrived. They will want to get it up and running ASAP.
  3. Yes I guess the ropes would have been there since it went down, But my main point was that it would hopefully be back up and running soon as a cherry picker was sent over half way through the day (nothing happening, it just sat there)
  4. The middle of the ride is currently being held down in the loading position by thick metal ropes. Also today a cherry picker was sent over and parked outside Samurai so I think that they will be sorting it out tomorrow. There was also a few workers standing on the platform having a video/pictures taken of them, wierd.
  5. I work in a secondary school and our students go back on the wednesday (most schools in the area are thursday). A lot of primary schools are friday and monday for going back.
  6. Busy day at the park today as expected. All rides except Samurai open, good atmosphere on park with stealth/Tidal Wave/Vortex and Quantum area playing chart music (other areas usual ride music), Dancing going on by Stealth and most staff working hard and being cheerful. Lots of rides were going down throughout the day but were all back up and running in no time - Ones I saw go down included Stealth, Rumba Rapids, Nemesis Inferno and Rush (went down to one swing for few hours).Longest Queue I saw on a board was Nemesis Inferno at 2 hours due to being on 1 train for half the day. Second was Saw at 90 mins. This was on 7 trains until they decided to put the eigth on at around 12:30pm (took 15 mins to add the train). Fasttrack queues were busy too. Even Quantum managed to get a full queue line (first time I have seen this in about 3 years)Rumba Rapids had only the wave machine working (nothing else not even the waterfall inside the tunnel). I asked if the effects were broken or just off and the women on the platform said "errr I'm not sure I just think its too cold so I think they haven't put them on" That is crap because was not cold. All Saw, Time Voyagers, Tidal Wave lights and Colossus effects were working as was Nemesis Inferno effects including the Geyser which was great (although the mist in tunnel is slowly dying) Shame about the rapids though!Getting out of the park was an absolute nightmare and took a good 25 minutes to reach the ticket barriers. They really need to look at this over the closed season as 4 barriers is clearly not enough with the amount of congestion I witnessed today.Ride Count (10:15-8:00)Loggers Leap x2Rumba Rapids x1 Rush x1Vortex x1Nemesis Inferno x2Detonator x1Stealth x1Colossus x1Rocky Express x1Quantum x1Vortex x1SIAT x1Slammer x1X No Way Out (lights on still) x1Time Voyagers x1 (great to see water and vibrations working as I haven't seen this for a while)
  7. The park has been busy on all my visits this season whether that be school days, school holidays or weekends. But like Jack says Who knows.
  8. Anyone finding a runtime error message when going on the official site? I've been getting it for a few days now.
  9. Wow sounds like hard work having to do that with the restraints. I see staff with pissed off faces on detonator because 2 seats don't open without the manual key!
  10. Yes it was in a queue line and what Lewish said was to "allow smoking wherever I wanted". I interpreted this as including queue lines. There are bins everywhere, does everyone use them, definately not. so would this make people use ash bins???
  11. So you are in favour for another fire at Thorpe Park are you, do you not remember the fire 10 years ago that destroyed Wicked Witches Haunt and part of Mr Rabbit's Tropical Travels??
  12. I'm quite surprised they didn't put a show like this in Mutiny Bay and show Pirates 4D at Alton Towers, like you say a great place for tired feet.I think it is nice to have an attraction like this at Thorpe Park and although not great the general public seem to like it. I took a friend into it last week, it was 3/4 full and most people actually clapped when it finished.
  13. Agreed,I have queued at the very very most 1 hr and half for rides at Thorpe Park, this is usually fright nights as well. Majority of the time it will never go over the hour mark even when busy unless maybe a coaster is on less trains or a ride breaks down for example. Like I mentioned in another topic even when Saw: The ride had a full queue it took around 70-80 mins to get through despite people saying at takes 2 hours.People really need to count the time they stay in the queue. Rush said 60 mins with an almost full queue and yet it only took 40mins. Loggers Leap had an almost full queue, the sign said 60 mins and it took 40 mins, Nemesis Inferno said 60 mins and took 25 mins etc. I tend to learn for myself how long the queues are as most people exagerate and the signs are always wrong, remember they are approximate not exact queue times.
  14. I have been twice this season and both times it was 40 minutes so I disagree.
  15. I just don't understand where these times come from. Three times I have entered the queue when it has been full to the entrance and it never took any longer than 80 minutes all three times.
  16. Yep I agree that it always has the longest queue. The ride sadly is not able to have a MCBR and the time it takes to load a train the second train is usually in the brake run anyway, so wouldn't speed it up at all really. It is rough and noisy but certainly a lot better this year than previously.
  17. I think they are good, especially the Stealth one.
  18. Must be a fault with Colossus music as this cut off halfway through monday. (Samurai as well) I disagree that it is better without it.
  19. Spoilsport, what your saying is daft about it being better with it off as it keeps your belongings dry, if you didnt want your belongings wet you simply would not go on what is supposed to be a "water ride". I would definatley want the waterfall on.
  20. I still find it strange that the themeing inside is based on a castle and barrels when the ride is about a space shuttle!?!?!
  21. Just to let people know Rush went down to one swing half way through today.
  22. I totally disagree that the ride is disappointing, I have thouroughly enjoyed every single ride I have had on this this year and found it intense, forceful, lengthy and fast almost every time. Last week was a short ride but still a fast and intense ride. In fact this has become one of my favourite rides of this year.
  23. Still very lacking with effects. The water over the tunnel entrance still not working. The sprinklers before the conveyor were on today and also noticed a new sprinkler on the turntable just next to the exit steps which was squirting the boats as they were joining the station turntable however this sadly stopped by the afternoon. (You can see the tap and sprinkler if you look right just before going up the exit steps)
  24. I agree totally with the park music, noticed the Colossus station problem around April time. I have been at the park today and last monday and I will list some of the things I noticed about music.1. After lunch time Colossus and Samurai were completely dead of music, it was awful queuing for Colossus in silence. No music in the Colossus area or station. Speaking of Samurai I did notice a new queueline track last week which played a mix of an announcement, the start of the ride theme when it raises (begining of matrix film), part of the loading music that had been used the last couple of years , annoying bird sounds (no idea what they have to do with Samurai) and amazingly the part I used to love listening to, the pre 2006 piano loading theme but only about 15 seconds of it (I wish they would use it again as the loading track)2. Nemesis Inferno has about two speakers in the queueline quietly playing the Nemesis theme - can't they use the speakers above the queue entrance really loudly like they used to in 2003.3. Detonator still has the pathetic one speaker in the ride area that you can only vaguely here when directly sitting in front of it.4. X:/No Way Out has a tiny strectch of corridor playing the 2007 onwards theme which I actually really like but it needs to play throughout.5. Vortex kept cutting out and was low, it was much better when it used to also play the theme in the queueline around pre 2004.6. Tidal Wave area was actualy brilliant as was Stealth although the Stealthside WWTP did cut out a few times whilst queuing.7. Rush very quiet, has been most of the time8. Why can't they use the 2006 Zodiac theme in the queue, I know it wern't great but if they have it why only use it for a year and then have silence.9. Slammer's theme is brilliant, at a good volume and works well although last week it was doing what it has done several times in the past, cutting out and changing to Colossus music. The queueline was also playing the Colossus theme.10. Saw Music is just poor for a horror ride imo, even made worse due to the fact it was so low.11. Several speakers throughout Rumba Rapids still not working and haven't for about the last two seasons.12. Neptunes Kingdom's music (the old ranger county/Banana boat music) wasn't actually too bad today, played at a fairly loud volume, although did notice a lot less speakers to last year, didn't go on Depth charge so couldn't guess whether this was working as well. Can't think of anything else (yet).
  25. I find that I get leg cramp if I sit in the back section of a car as it is quite cramped and my legs touch the back of the seat in front. I now always go in the front section of one of the 7 cars on the train and don't tend to get leg cramp. as there seems to be slightly more room. Try it.
