  2. It's also the same with South Entrance - everything is staying as it is except it's all Tan coloured and bamboo queuing system.
  3. Apologies for the cack quality, but you get the gist.
  4. Congratulations!Try somewhere close by such as Shepperton, Chertsey, Ashford, Staines or Wraysbury - might be worth getting a double room for yourself, as a lot of TP staff do have house shares together you might be able to get into.
  5. Rides 1 go ahead over..

    AND ZOO
  7. Well that's a fair point - many engineers did start off in Rides and after completing Winter Maintenance in Engineering team they got apprenticeships however taking a job role for one year in something that isn't as good can show you have enthusiasm and you can easily change departments.Good justification though, don't give up the dream though, honestly!
  8. New bamboo master queue line at North looks awesome, I presume they've done this at South Gate as they are redoing both.Pictures might not show it but the main turnstiles have been rethemed as well with sort of dodgy brickwork style, but all in all it's just a bit of a retheme.
  9. Enviro would be a good dept to go into, if you're that genuinely interested in working in a theme park atmosphere, this is the most customer focused position on park whatever people say.If you were that interested in the park as a good job, then it would have been advisable to take the offered jobs. It sounds like you're doing it just for the sheer 'lol I work on a 205ft rollercoaster' then you will get so very bored so very quickly - you're there to interact with guests, to make their days more enjoyable, to carry out H&S checks on ride vehicles and other equipment, not just for the novelty.Honest opinion, after working in a theme park for a year in a few different departments and also on many different rides - every department/job is as good as you make them!
  10. They don't invite you to induction days unless you either; worked there in the 2010 season and were invited back, or have had an assessment centre day, been rung up and given a job offer.Hope that helps.

  19. Well if you look into the Vampire situation a little deeper...The ride originally closed in 2001 as it had become cost ineffective, and it was seen as costing too much to maintain with such small amount of parts available to be sourced - and plans had started to be drawn up with what they were going to do next with the area - they were going to dismantle Vampire and build a totally different type of ride with the whole area - and remember how large the area is! It spans down from the back of Trail of the Kings all the way down to 'Rig Site' (which is located at the bottom of Black Forest Haunt, behind the metal gates), and obviously up to the Black Buccaneer. Obviously as with every Tussauds update or changing of an area, all different plans were considered. I believe they did invest on the help of John Wardley to essentially - and I quote - 'dig a huge hole and see how we could fit a B&M Inverted into it', however with the water table, surrounding buildings and other such factors, this stopped them and they then took up the path of leaving Vampire as it was. There was obviously everything there; the track, the station, the queue line and surrounding pathways and theming, however much it might have been nice to refresh the area, the idea of refurbishing the ride and what not was a much more viable option and they used Arrow to basically refurbish many parts of the track which had issues, restore many of the supports and also deepen some of the pits in the ride area for clearance.I'm not sure wether or not they stripped the station of theming before or after the refurbishment however I think it was for safety reasons - such as the gates (not that they are much use anymore) and also obviously a new PLC; the essentially made the ride new again and all that exists from the previous one is the track, only the containing building, track and a few supports. Just thought I'd post that condensed down if people hadn't known about it already!

Not many people are interested in New Media and as it seems to be a growing interest - AP's prove this, it's sort of becoming less New Media, and apparently people open to different sexualities are the first to be attracted to New Media.Apparently.
