Unfortunately staff are or at least where unable to assist certain disabled guests in getting off the rides. This being for obvious reasons that I won't go into. Rules can be tightened up. At Chessington it was decided that those who are deaf or asthmatic and lots of other disabilities would still have to queue. It was, as imaginable, very difficult to explain to guests though and luckily I only had a few major confrontations. Chessington asked that all guests bring proof of disability with them .. this was asked to be a letter from the doctor explaining their disability and a reason why they are unable to queue. A letter of 'Disability Living Allowance' was simply rejected as we needed to know whether their disability would stop them from being able to queue with the general public. I am unsure as to whether this is still the case. I would hope so, as the benefits where visable to those who genuinly needed the system. Alot of people who asked questions understood that the system was being abused and appreciated why we where asking for proof. The only people who complained where those who would no longer make use of the system. As far as I knew, this is correct.

The system is there to benefit yourself and as a genuinly disable guest, I am sure you appreciate that the changes are being made in order to benefit yourself. The system was being abused, which meant that you had to wait longer to wait and get on rides behind guests who took multiple carers when not needed. Why should you have to bring more than one carer with you on the rides? Non-Ambient guests, in my opinion will be allowed two carers. This is in order for assistance if the ride would need to be evacuated in an emergency. Happy Days. The only situation that I could imagine this happening is if the guest is Non-Ambient. People of which are, will be more limited to the rides of which they can go on. In my opinion rides such as storm surge, loggers leap, rumba rapids.. are not suitable for those in wheelchairs. This is because the rides are constantly moving through the station and it is not possible to stop them without any inconvinience. As many of you know, I've worked in Chessingtons Guest Services department and implemented very similar changes to the ones of which Thorpe Park have adopted this year. It is purely for the benefit of genuinly disabled guests and I am sure that you should see the long term benefits of this system.

Come on... that is un-acceptable lads.... If that is your attitude in life then you will get nowhere. And that actually makes YOU the worst type of visitors at Thorpe Park.

I remember when maps where used to navigate my way around. Could you imagine trying to navigate the park purely with that map!

People who have met one of your mates once, and then act like they've known them forever are cringing. Also, just wanted to rant about people in general who use publc transport.- WHY for the love of god, do people wait 30 minutes for a bus, and then when they get on, scrummage around their bag for change for another 5 minutes. If you are one of these people, can I ask politely that you get your change ready prior to boarding the bus. If you don't, I will sooner or later smash you round the head with a blunt object.- The train, oh how lovely and busy it is at 8am in the morning.. so why do some stupid tossers insist on getting on the train and shouting "Can you move down please" when there is clearly no ****ing room to move into.- The taxi... Why does this ***** deserve a tip for ripping me off travelling 10 minutes down the road... AND he shows no urgency to get me to the train station on time. I hand over my money to someone who has only been in the country for a couple of days and doesn't speak a word of English, and he can't even manage to say "Thank You". How about next time you don't get a tip, you don't get anything.. and I just walk off.It won't be al queda blowing up transport at this rate...

I understand that, but anyone who does have it annoy them needs to get a life. Sorry, but that is the truth.A top trumps playing card shows a ride to be 50cm smaller than it really is. It should not annoy people. They may have simple 'Rounded Down' the number to make it more tidy?

Tragic. Absolutely tragic.

I studied in College and I am one of the people who just found it wasn't for me. I slogged out some really boring jobs to get the money to pay for rent etc. But it was always better than college. And there was of course, and still is the choice to go back to study later on in life if I feel that is something I wish to do. I don't see the point in further education unless you are certain on what you would like to do, and you know that it needs a degree or the relevant qualifications (ie, doctor).

Reminds me of when I read the daily mail once...

I fell asleep in a couple of my exams including maths. Teachers used to enter me for the higher teir papers when it was obvious I couldn't pass them. Maths was a disaster.

So, just wondered what you guys think.Do you reckon it is best to not go into further education and go straight into work. Or do you feel that studying gives you a better option for the future. With rising tuition fee's etc. it's an interesting topic.I understand that obviously it depends on what you would like to do (jobwise) but yeah, general answers.

Not a great idea to be honest. Due to the throughput of the ride I could imagine that this highly increases the likelyhood of thefts that would occur from a storage box at the ride. Also, where would it go? If it was placed on the on-load platform it would be difficult to get your bags after the ride, and vice-versa. Can always use the Lockers.

He's played 130 minutes of football for a new team who are trying to adjust to a new system. We've had a poor season, Torres is not at Fault. Why aren't you going on about Andy Carrol not scoring yet? Not at all... before he has been on a better game to goal ratio than Rooney.Torres 23 League games9 GoalsRooney17 League games5 GoalsThose stats mean that anyone who tries to play the "He's injury prone" card can shove it.And anybody who says he's a poor player can shove it too.And yes .. he will be worth £50m EASILY. If he scores goals that secure us a champions league place, that already pays for a majority of his transfer fee.Seriously, some people are so deluded and don't think at all (Mainly scousers and the media) it pisses me off. Can't read anything positive about my team. We're just hated.1) Torres Isn't ****2) How can you judge a player after 120 mins of football3) Where were you when berbatov played **** for 2 years4) why does nobody else think £35m for carrol is worse than 50m for torres5) Even if he is **** and a waste of money, at least we can afford it.Torres didn't score yesterday because the small team down the road completely shut us off from making any clear chances. Don't get me wrong, Torres had a nightmare yesterday. But no worse to what Rooney has been like for a majority of the season .Anyway, did anyone hear out lovely vocal support at the cottage yesterday? 'twas a good evening.

Have a feeling Thorpe Park's staff will be brilliant as always this season!
-
Atmnosphere around the bridge yesterday was just all very strange, big shame about the result. Majorly dissapointed. Also, you don't judge a £50m signing on his first 60 minutes playing. Even though most of the papers seem to think you can.
