  1. Have fun :)I have recently discovered the cheap weekend train fares, so I now use this as my main transport to Thorpe Park (And Chessington). It's great, because before, my dad took me, so that meant I could only go during a school holiday mid-week. Now I could go every weekend if I wanted to!
  2. It's very good to see that emails like that are being sent out, to notify people that haven't already visited the website.

Can we leave this now please? It seems as though every time I have been on this topic for the last week or so the conversation has been about these stupid exit passes.
  4. Was anyone at the park today? Was there another power failure mid-day, or did this occur after park closing?
  5. I don't know if this has been stated already, but Chessington & Zoo will be closed tomorrow. (Wednesday 26th August 2009). It will reopen on Thursday 27th August 2009.

Only the once. Thinking about it now, I suppose I'll need to ride it several times before I can truly judge it.
  7. I've never been. I always used to go to Fright Nights for my Birthday (October), but that was before I knew how good Chessington was. There really is no decision to be made now, I can't wait for Rameses Revenge in the dark!

I've got to say, from what I was expecting, I was deeply unimpressed by Dragon's Fury last week. I much preferred Rattlesnake to be honest.

The longest I have ever queued was 2 and a half hours for Colossus earlier this year, the only reason being that the advertisement board at the entrance read 20 minutes, and I couldn't see half of the queue line from the bridge. If I'd have known it was over an hour, I wouldn't have gone near it.

  14. Oh right. Yes, working in school hours is a big no-no.
  15. Yes, just keep looking. You'll find something eventually.
  16. Yes, you can work at the age of 15. It's just a case of whether Thorpe will be looking to recruit people just for the summer or not. If I were you I'd just keep checking the recruitment website, and eventually the job for you should appear. www.thorpeparkjobs.comLike I mentioned before, you won't be able to work in Rides for example unless you're 16.
  17. In another topic he mentioned that the queues were on average 40/50 minutes, with the exception of SAW at 60.

I'm moving house next tuesday, and we've been living out of boxes for the past few days. I can't find anything I want or need, I keep falling over things whenever I try to move around and I've just about had enough of it! I don't think I can last another week!

I'm not too sure, although I know that due to the business of days over the Summer, this might be something that they would consider recruiting some extra people for.
  21. It is perfectly legal to employ under 16 year olds, if the employee has a valid Child Workers Permit issued from the council. Having said this, there are some departments in Thorpe Park that require employees to be 16 or over. (R&A, Medical etc). And as for the "not knowing they were 16", this is impossible, unless of course the employees concerned lied about their age at the recruitment stage. (Which is near enough impossible, as a valid document showing D.O.B is required at the assessment/interview stage of any Merlin attraction).
  22. I can't bring myself to believe the fact that you managed 44 rides in one day! Incredible.
  23. Paul replied to Marc's topic in The Real World
It depends on which department you would like to work in. Most pay £5.80 per/hour, which is very reasonable if you ask me.
  24. I was so impressed, earlier today I wrote up a more detailed version of my trip report, and sent it off to guest services.
